Christians: Three Persons in Ones. Three Manifestations?

Where does the theological view points of "Three Persons in One" and "Three Manifestations" of GOD originate and who is right? Theologians on both sides of the aisle claim spiritual revelation, so who is right? My opinion is, who knows the mind and design of God? So did the Holy Spirit reveal this to both?

As far as doing scriptural study of the "true" nature of GOD, since both Jews and Christians supposedly worship the same GOD, I believe that the we should go into the Old Testament and begin at Deuteronomy 6:4. In this verse Moses commands the attention of the israelites,

Deut. 6:4
"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:" To me, where there appears to be a prevalent confusion amongst christians regarding the true nature of Christ and his relation to GOD the Father, and the fulfillment, not annulment of the law is in the hebrew word 'Echad'.

Echad אֶחָד
- which is an adjective

1) one (number)
a) one (number)
b) each, every
c) a certain
d) an (indefinite article)
e) only, once, once for all
f) one...another, the one...the other, one after another, one by one
g) first
h) eleven (in combination), eleventh (ordinal)

(1) - In several other places in scripture (Lev. 13:2; Gen. 32:23; Gen. 48:22; 2 Sam. 17:22; Zec. 11:7) 'One' is used as a numeral having the power of an adjective. One has often the force of - (1) i.q. the same, (Gen. 40:5; Job 31:15)

(2) First, but only so used in counting the days of the months, (Ezr. 10:16-17; Gen. 8:5, 13; Act. 20:7)

(3) Some one, "some one of the people;" "no one."

(4) it acts the part of an indefinite article, especially in the later Hebrew (1 Ki. 20:13; 1 Ki. 19:4; Job 2:10)

(5) One only of is kind (Job 23:13, Eze. 7:5)

(6) As one man, i.e. "together", "unitedly" (Ezr. 2:64; Ezr. 3:9; Ezr. 6:20; Ecc 11:6; Isa. 65:25)

(7) Suddenly (Num. 10:4)

(8) Altogether (Jer. 10:8)

(9) One after another, one by one (Isa. 27:12; Ecc. 7:27)

Here are scriptures that people tend to use to defend their beliefs in either the "Three Persons in One" / "Three Manifestations" theologies:

Deu 6:4 "Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one!

Deu 10:17 "For the LORD your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality nor takes a bribe.

Deu 32:39 'Now see that I, even I, am He, And there is no God besides Me; I kill and I make alive; I wound and I heal; Nor is there any who can deliver from My hand.

2 Sam 7:22 "Therefore You are great, O Lord GOD. For there is none like You, nor is there any God besides You, according to all that we have heard with our ears.

1 Ki 8:60 "that all the peoples of the earth may know that the LORD is God; there is no other.

Isa 37:16 "O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, the One who dwells between the cherubim, You are God, You alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth.

Isa 43:10 "You are My witnesses," says the LORD, "And My servant whom I have chosen, That you may know and believe Me, And understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, Nor shall there be after Me.

Isa 44:6 "Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel, And his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts: 'I am the First and I am the Last; Besides Me there is no God.

Jer 10:10 But the LORD is the true God; He is the living God and the everlasting King. At His wrath the earth will tremble, And the nations will not be able to endure His indignation.

Mark 10:18 So Jesus said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God.

1 Cor 8:4 Therefore concerning the eating of things offered to idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no other God but one.

1 Cor 8:5 For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as there are many gods and many lords),

1 John 5:7-8 "7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one."

1 Tim. 2:5 "For [there is] one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;"

1 Cor 8:6 yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live.

John 17:3 "And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

God is One in purpose.

John chapter 1.

The problem is that we have nothing in our physical experience as a point of reference to understand how God can exist as three "Hypostases."

However, we do see that there is a Father, a Son, and a Holy Spirit.

Jesus said He and the Father are One; that if you had seen the Son, you had seen the Father. Jesus puts the emphasis on their sameness, whereas we tend to want to see how they differ.

Most of the debate comes down to the nature of the Holy Spirit and whether the Holy Spirit has "personage" or is merely the force/power of God. Yet Scripture has examples of the Holy Spirit speaking; something a "person" does.

There is one God. The Sun is the Sun, the light is not the Sun. The heat is not the Sun it is the heat,

yet there are not three Suns, but one Sun. All three exist within the one. The same with the Holy Trinity. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, separate yet one. When the Apostles

asked Jesus to show them the father he replied ´´ Have I been with you so long and you do not know me?´´

John 1

The Word Became Flesh

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome[a] it.

6 There was a man sent from God whose name was John. 7 He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. 8 He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.

9 The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.

14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Our finite brains can't begin to understand the complexities of God.

The trinity is the historical Christian view of God. There is no debate within Christendom about the trinity. All Roman Catholics, Protestants and Eastern Orthodox hold to the Nicene and Athanasius creeds. Gosh this is one of those things that Catholics, Baptists, Methodists, Greek Orthodox, Russian orthodox etc., etc., all agree. For a discussion of the trinity in Christendom look up the Athanasius Creed online.

Technically Christians are polytheists they believe that the three parts of the trinity are three seperate beings, that sit around a table and have a chat etc, not just 3 manifestations like in hinduism

I do not know the bible study that resulted in this belief but I know plenty of Christians who have clarified this and consider it blasphemy to consider them merely manifestations of one being

Strange when the 10 commandments say there is only 1 god.

Now I'm not suggesting that we're divine, but are we not Spirit, Flesh and Soul ourselves? Well, there's your answer---
