Question:
Christians, do you believe in once saved always saved?
?

Why do so many that profess to be Christians seem to boast about being saved? Doesn't the Word say: "continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling?" Php. 2:12
Then why do some people seem to even be arrogant about it? An ("I'm saved but you're not") attitude. Don't you believe that this approach pushes people further away and does more harm than good?

great question. but maybe the question could be stated, "Christians, do you believe the Bible teaches once saved always saved." If the Bible teaches it, then my adherence or believe in it doesn't really matter because I am not the final authority, the Scriptures are. Yes, I believe Jesus and the apostles clearly taught that once a person is regenerated by God and God saves a person, it cannot be lost. I believe this question is based in an Arminian understanding of salvation which places the emphasis on human will, behavior, morality, or belief and places God's role as secondary. The Bible clearly teaches that Jesus is the Author and Finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). We are saved by grace alone (that is the cause, God's grace) through faith alone in Christ alone. (Ephesians 2:8-9) and the text explicity says, "and that not of yourselves" Another good passage is John 10:27-30 where Jesus says that He is the Shepherd and His people are the sheep and no one can snatch them out of His hand. Romans 8 says "nothing can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ. Philippians 1:6 says, "He that has begun a good work in you will complete it." John 6:63 Jesus says, "it is the Spirit who gives life, the flesh profits nothing." Why is it that we relegage the Triune God who is omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, infinite in power and glory to second class status placing Him behind us. Jesus said to professed believers in Matthew

7 "I never knew you" not I once knew you but you blew it.

So yes, I believe in once regenerated, always regenerated. but not, once a professed believer always a professed believer since some have abandoned the Christian faith for an idol of their own making.

Once saved always saved is found no where in the Bible. What the Bible does talk about is Salvation by Grace through Faith (Eph 2:8). Also when speaking about salvation, the Bible divides it into two distinct sections-1 the forgiveness of Sin, and 2 the imparting of Life. Indeed when these two issues are the reasons Jesus came to earth so that we may have salvation. The forgiveness of Sin was dealt with on the Cross; sanctification was once, for all (Hebrews 10:10). The entirety of humanity, past present and future, has been forgiven of their sins by the sacrifice of Jesus' death on the Cross. Indeed the forgiveness of sin has been dealt with.

Jesus said "I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." The Forgiveness of Sin was a vital part of Salvation, but it has already been dealt with. What Jesus focused his ministry on is bringing us Life...his Life.

Jesus gave himself for us, so he could give himself to us, so he can live His life through us. John Chapter 15 describes this very clearly, that it his his life living through us.

John 17:3 Says "And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent." Eternal life doesn't start when a Christian dies, it starts the moment one becomes a Christian.

So if ALL sin was forgiven by Christ's sacrifice on the cross, can we lose our salvation? no, because that sin has already been forgiven.

There is nothing we did to earn our salvation, there is nothing we can do to lose our salvation. That is the definition of Abundant, more forgiveness than we will ever need.

The answer to your question Mr. I is in the bible:

Jude 5, RS: “I desire to remind you, though you were once for all fully informed, that he who saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.” (Italics added.)

Matt. 24:13, RS: “He who endures to the end will be saved.” (So a person’s final salvation is not determined at the moment that he begins to put faith in Jesus.)

Phil. 2:12, RS: “As you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” (This was addressed to “the saints,” or holy ones, at Philippi, as stated in Philippians 1:1. Paul urged them not to be overly confident but to realize that their final salvation was not yet assured.)

Heb. 10:26, 27, RS: “If we sin deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful prospect of judgment, and a fury of fire which will consume the adversaries.” (Thus the Bible does not go along with the idea that no matter what sins a person may commit after he is “saved” he will not lose his salvation. It encourages faithfulness. See also Hebrews 6:4-6, where it is shown that even a person anointed with holy spirit can lose his hope of salvation.)

Seek the Lord, all you meek of the earth, Who have upheld His justice. Seek righteousness, seek humility. It may be that you will be hidden In the day of the Lord's anger. Zephaniah 2:3

So the answer to your question is no. It is a race Christians are running, we have to make sure we get to the finish line with humility!

i can only speak as a Catholic....

without Jesus Christ, there would be no Salvation. This is absolutely necessary for Christ opened the heavens for US - they are a product of the salvation He offers.

however this isn't a one time shot - Scriptures explain that Salvation is:

1) an ongoing process 1 Pt 1:6,9

2) something we work out Phil 2:12

3) something we grow into 1 Pt 2:1-2

4) NOT guaranteed by faith alone Jas 2:14,17,24 & Mt 7:21

5) not a single act of faith 1 Cor 15:1-2, Heb 6:4-6 & Mt 24:12-13

6) Salvation is NOT complete in this life 1 Pt 1:3-5

i think of you're lacking the finished component of OSAS doctrine and what's at the back of it, i.e. love and charm. by ability of questioning of mankind as impartial until eventually now the Lord, you're springing up with an completely distinctive thought of salvation by ability of tension. OSAS ability guilt, and the want for a savior, no longer finding out on God off a menu or being tension-fed in case you decide on for the incorrect merchandise! "If no longer, then how are you able to state that a individual won't be able to lose their salvation?" it quite is achievable given which you get rid of thoroughly guy's means to look to God for salvation. somebody could could carry you all the way by your existence that way, and a loving Father could try this. in the time of the toughest cases, Christians have desire. place self belief in your self, as Peter did while referred to as to stroll on the water, and you sink like a rock. "If a individual later rejects Christ as their Lord and savior, will God tension them to bypass to heaven?" we've a sin nature interior of us. That nature could reject God in a heartbeat keep for an astonishing love that isn't enable us to bypass. the affection of Christ is a superb blessing and present, no longer a commodity you get to contemplate over like a categorised advert.

Yes I believe in that, once saved always saved, otherwise we would be like all the other faiths who strive to be 'good enough' to get to heaven.

In stead of a lengthy "too long to read" post, a simple digress to what Jesus and John said

Salvation is deeply found in the meaning of "BELIEVE"

John in his Gospel and Letters, used the word "believe" over 100 times (ca 107) Matthew, Mark and Luke only about 11 times (+/-) each

John wrote: "THESE THINGS HAVE I WRITTEN THAT "YOU MAY KNOW" YOU HAVE ETERNAL LIFE"

"What things?" The things surrounding the truth of what it means to believe into Christ. It is more than saying a few words, rather its a change within the mind/heart that believes into, total reliance upon, absolute trust in the truth of God the Son, His ransom sacrifice and blood that covers our sin kind of Belief. Pretty simple, & straight forward, and lets me "know" that I will always have Eternal Life.

Next: Jesus in talking with those true believers who came back from preaching, excited they could cast out demons, Jesus said: "rejoice not you can cast out demons , but that your names are written in heaven"

Notice the sentence structure....Their names are already written in heaven, not "will be later on if you knock on doors, get dunked in water, etc"

so .....yes,, If I believe the essence of Romans 10:9, what John said, and what Jesus said, then on the day I accepted Christ, I was saved, born again, and will always remain his child until I appear before Him. For it is His Blood that continously keeps on cleansing my life, and by His Grace that I will "always remain saved"

If Jesus said with out me you can do nothing, I take Him at his word in keeping my salvation in tact.

Why do some of you get so hung up on trying to condemn everybody back to mentally doing works for salvation ? Works are the fruit of salvation, not the root of salvation.....

thanks

/dm/

[edit] I know ppl love to use Heb 10:26-27 to justify loosing ones salvation. IN CONTEXT pls.......the nation was under the law, yearly sacrificing animals for their sin. If they hear about the Christ, and keep on rejecting Him, ie: sinning willfully after . ....they cant go back to the yearly sacrifice as Jesus is the Last Sacrifice.....period. It has nothing to do with becoming a believer, and loosing salvation.....Keep It in Context with the entire chapter !!!

If you ask me if one can forfeit salvation....I would have to think of Lucifer who forfeited heaven. That kind of a decision by a truly born again believer... not likely.

Yes, but the hitch is that we always have to work towards keeping it. God knows we're going to screw up occasionally, but we have to always ask forgiveness for the things we do wrong, and that he'll help us to do better. I'll have to do that my entire life, for I'll never be perfect. Being always saved isn't a license to keep sinning and not asking forgiveness for it.

If they are truly Born Again yes. About the people you mentioned, they are kind of patting them selves on the back instead of being an example of what a truly born again person is and try to witness instead of showing their pride.

For those who truly understand the atonement knows that everyone has been given the gift of eternal life. We have to work towards our goal of what kingdom in Heaven we shall attain. In the scriptures it states Faith with out works is dead. We are to learn line upon line and precept upon precept to learn about the attributes of our Father in Heaven. There is a lot to learn charity, faith, Love, humility and many others. This life is a test to show who we are. Those who say that they are saved are to proud and it could be a long fall off of their pedestal. I have asked my friend to remind me to be humble when I get proud and they have. I am grateful for my friends and family so that I may be more like our Father in Heaven,

We are called to work out that which God has worked in.

But if accepting salvation was a matter of faith, it seems logical that later denial of that belief could result in loss of that which one had.

Arrogance should have no place, anyhow. Salvation is by grace.

I'd answer this because its a trick question. You cannot be perfect and yet you are expected to perfect yourself.

You are neither saved nor are you damned, until the final hour of judgment.

Edited to add:

Okay, well, words are few. I cannot say sin is absent. No human can.

Either way they would not be the correct way a Christian should behave towards another Brother or Sister in Christ, On the Subject of OSAS, I believe that it is Possible to Forfeit (Not Lose) Salvation

And before I get Trounced, I have read the Works Of Charles Stanley and John MacArthur on the Subject and Disagree Vehemently on his Interpretation of the Passages he uses to Justify OSAS and on the related subject on Predestination,

The scripture clearly teaches BOTH the sovereignty of God AND the free will of men. To deny this is irrational, and must be caused by something other than reason based on scriptural precepts.

The scriptural position is that a person who is saved can forfeit that salvation. The bible teaches those at highest risk of forfeiting their salvation are those who are newly saved, and those who continue on in known disobedience, after being born again.

The elect are those whom God chose, whom God foresaw would both trust in His Son AND who would endure or persevere in the faith given them until the end of their physical life, or the return of Jesus.

Those whose hearts are seeking the Lord with all that is in them, should have no concern about "losing" their salvation. Nor should they have any concern about forfeiting their salvation.

Salvation cannot be lost, but it can be forfeited - this is the nature of covenants in the bible. The bible no where guarantee's someone that salvation once received cannot be turned away from or forfeited by the individual that possesses it.

Receiving salvation involves man's will, and not works. Forfeiting salvation involves man's will, and not works. In the same way the Lord did not force His salvation on anyone, He neither forces anyone to remain in the covenant.

Now I can Refute easily all Verses OSAS Advocates use to Justify that position, Such as what Randy S uses to advocate that, in all due respect to his education, many Have a Doctorate in Biblical Theology, One I know who does not agree has 3 Decorates, But what would be the point ?

Against those who believe that ? They are set and won't accept anything else, I was once a Baptist Too, But Studied the Bible as well and researched it thoroughly and seen the Hand-me-down License to sin Theology being preached, and left that Church for a more Biblical Correct Assembly of God Church, However, That doesn't mean that my Brothers and Sister in Baptist Churches are not saved, But I am tired of debating this, as though I could easily refute the verses, they would not be convinced nor could they convince me so it would be a waste of time, better for me to spend my time on those who are more open and able to be led by the Holyu Spirit than those who have taken a Hard line pride position on it and closed thier minds to the indwelling of the Holy Spirit

Yes! Jesus said (talking about his 'sheep') : 'I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish, neither shall anyone pluck them out of my hand. My Father, who gave them me, is greater than all, and none shall pluck them out of my Father's hand'.

If it were possible to lose one's salvation, it's effectively saying that Jesus's sacrifice didn't work, that someone can be rescued from eternal death and punishment in hell, only to be thrown back in if they don't do something themselves to keep it! Salvation is NOT dependant on what anyone themselves does; it is solely dependant on faith in what Jesus Christ has already done and FINISHED, and even that faith is a gift from God.

However, Christians are called to do good works, not to gain or keep their salvation, but to obey and serve their new master whom they love, because of his great sacrifice for them.

Hi, I am a christian and do not believe this at all. Yes, we have more of a chance because of being christians, but as you so rightly point out from the bible, we have to continue to work at being christians. If one is saying that they are saved and you are not, then this means that you are more likely to be saved and not the one who arrogantly saying so.

I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses and know that it is a very narrow road I/we tread on and I sincerely hope I keep on that road.

Satan is the author of such a doctrine and propagated by false teachers like Chris/David.

If we are once saved always saved then why pray, why ask God for mercy, why does God state we will be judged based on our works (Rev 22:12)?

If we are guaranteed salvation then we have no reason to capitulate to God any further.

Satan wants us to believe him over what Jesus and the Apostles actually teach.

And since Chris/David already pointed out Matthew 7 I encourage all to read it and see Chris/David is lying and depending on you not reading it and believing his fallible interpretation.

Peace be with you

<<>>

.

.

Pray for Chris/David/patterss (all the same person),

~~~~~ Do not listen to Chris/David/patterss,
2Corinthians 11:13 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.
2Corinthians 11:14 And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.
2Corinthians 11:15 So it is not strange if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.
~~~~~Just Believing in Jesus is not enough or demons would be saved.

James 2:19 You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder.

Luke 4:41 Demons also were coming out of many, shouting, "You are the Son of God!" But rebuking them, He would not allow them to speak, because they knew Him to be the Christ.

James 2:24 You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone.

There is no "once saved always saved" in the bible.

Salvation is a life long process, not a one time thing of saying you believe in Jesus.

The apostle John wrote us a wonderful promise from God: John 3:16-17 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

Does this mean that once we accept Jesus in our heart by faith, and thus are saved, that we can do anything even immoral things, and we still will be saved? Let's see what the Scriptures says about this.

1 Tim 4:1: "The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons."

This text shows that Christians can loose their salvation if they follow deceiving spirits.

2 Peter 2:20-22: "If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them. Of them the proverbs are true: 'A dog returns to its vomit," and, "A sow that is washed goes back to her wallowing in the mud.'"

The apostle Peter indicates clearly here that it is worst for someone who has accepted Jesus in his life to return to his old ways than "not to have known the way of righteousness". Why? The book of Hebrews explains this for us.

Heb 6:4-6: "It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age, if they fall away, to be brought back to repentance, because to their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace."

This text describes Christians who not only accepted Jesus by faith into their life, but also personally tasted God's Holy Spirit. What happens to them if they "fall away'? This text is clear. It is impossible for them to be brought back to repentance, and thus obtain eternal salvation, because they did sin against the Holy Spirit. They have lost it!

Heb 10:26-28: "If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God."

Here we see clearly that once we have accepted Jesus in our life, we just can't go on living as if He did not exist, and "deliberately keep on sinning". What would be the result if you did? Would you still obtain eternal salvation? The Bible says that these will have "a fearful expectation of judgment". There again, they have lost their salvation.

The apostle Paul confirms this in 1 Cor 15:1-2: "Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain."

In other words, if someone does not hold on firm to God's word, he/she has "believed in vain".

An example that one can loose his/her salvation is King Saul. He was chosen by God to be the first king of Israel. He was filled with God's Spirit at first (1 Samuel 10 6), but because of his pride and evil actions, never repenting from what he did wrong, eventually God's Spirit departed from him 1 Sam 16:14 "Now the Spirit of the LORD had departed from Saul…" NIV King Saul had been saved, but he lost his salvation due to his unrepentant heart. How sad!

These texts clearly contradict the theory of "Once saved, always saved". This theory is simply not Biblical.

"As the Bible says, I am already saved (Rom. 8:24, Eph. 2:5–8), but I’m also being saved (1 Cor. 1:8, 2 Cor. 2:15, Phil. 2:12), and I have the hope that I will be saved (Rom. 5:9–10, 1 Cor. 3:12–15). Like the apostle Paul I am working out my salvation in fear and trembling (Phil. 2:12), with hopeful confidence in the promises of Christ (Rom. 5:2, 2 Tim. 2:11–13)."
anonymous
2010-08-10 14:11:37 UTC
Phil. 2:12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, "work out your own salvation with fear and trembling" (manifest your own salvation with freedom from strife and vainglory);

"Work out your own salvation" (Phil. 2:12) does not suggest, "Work for your own salvation." To begin with, Paul is writing to people who are already "saints" (Phil. 1:1 Paul and Timothy, bondservants of Jesus Christ, TO ALL THE SAINTS in Christ Jesus who are in Philippi, with the bishops and deacons:), which means they have trusted Christ and have been set apart for Him. The verb "work out" carries the meaning of "work to full completion," such as working out a problem in mathematics. In Paul's day it was also used for "working a mine," that is, getting out of the mine all the valuable ore possible; or "working a field" so as to get the greatest harvest possible. The purpose God wants us to achieve is Christlikeness, "to be conformed to the image of His Son" (Rom. 8:29). There are problems in life, but God will help us to "work them out." Our lives have tremendous potential, like a mine or a field, and He wants to help us fulfill that potential.

Now to answer your original question ... yes, I am assured of the saying, "once saved always saved" through the Scriptures. I don't see it as boasting but rather believing what God tells me in His Word. We have no reason to boast ... salvation is a free gift!

I firmly believe that all the redeemed, once saved, are kept by GOD'S POWER (not ours) and are thus secure in Christ forever.

John 6:37-40 37 All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I WILL BY NO MEANS CAST OUT. 38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. 39 This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I SHOULD LOSE NOTHING, BUT SHOULD RAISE IT UP AT THE LAST DAY. 40 And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that EVERYONE who sees the Son and BELIEVES IN HIM MAY HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE; and I WILL RAISE HIM UP AT THE LAST DAY."

John 10:27-30 27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. 28 And I GIVE THEM ETERNAL LIFE, AND THEY SHALL NEVER PERISH; NEITHER SHALL ANYONE SNATCH THEM OUT OF MY HAND. 29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. 30 I and My Father are one.”

Rom. 8:1, 38, 39

1 THERE IS THEREFORE NOW NO CONDEMNATION TO THOSE WHO ARE IN CHRIST JESUS, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

These two verses should all be capitalized.

38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, 'nor any other created thing' (Satan), shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I Cor. 1:4-8 4 I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus, 5 that you were enriched in everything by Him in all utterance and all knowledge, 6 even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you, 7 so that you come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, 8 WHO WILL ALSO CONFIRM YOU TO THE END, THAT YOU MAY BE BLAMELESS IN THE DAY OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.

I Pet. 1:5 WHO ARE KEPT BY THE POWER OF GOD THROUGH FAITH FOR SALVATION READY TO BE REVEALED IN THE LAST TIME.

EDIT: I don't know about the other true believers in this forum but I for one am sick to death of reading the lies and false doctrines that many declare as God's truth ... blasphemers, vipers, and Satan's spawn your day is coming. Woe to you!

To all those who believe you can lose your salvation please explain these verses.

I Cor. 3:5-17

*12-15 12 Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 13 each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. 14 If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. 15 IF ANYONE'S WORK IS BURNED, HE WILL SUFFER LOSS; BUT HE HIMSELF WILL BE SAVED, yet so as through fire.

For those of you who think that salvation by God's grace is a license to sin. Please read these carefully. You do not understand God's grace at all.

Rom. 6:1-14

1 WHAT SHALL WE SAY THEN? SHALL WE CONTINUE IN SIN THAT GRACE MAY ABOUND? 2 CERTAINLY NOT! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? 3 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? 4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

5 For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, 6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. 7 For he who has died has been freed from sin. 8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, 9 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. 10 For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. 11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. 13 And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.

Finally, for those of you who think you can work your way to heaven ... these are for you.

Eph. 2:8, 9 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Rom. 11:6 And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work.

I know I will receive numerous TD's ... that doesn't bother me in the least because you are not disagreeing with what I say but of what God says ... I answer questions with His Word that is infallible. He doesn't need my help ... His Word stands alone on its own merit.

This is my motto: Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. II Tim. 2:15 How many of you read and study your Bibles daily? How many of you understand what it means to "rightly divide the word of truth?" Do you know what dispensations are? There are more who do not know than those who do in here. It's very evident from their answers.

Take heed, God is not mocked. By the way, this is righteous anger and I'm not sinning!

NO!!

'Once saved always saved' is a subtle twist by false teachers. It is a doctrine of deception. According to them ‘saved’ is a status that inherits heaven. Once we got it we will not lose it no matter what we do. That is, even if a "saved" man rapes and kills a girl, surely he will go to heaven while the unsaved victim goes to hell. It is ridiculous before the holy God.

Most Christians think that grace is a free ticket to heaven, given to sinning Christians, since they believe the story of Jesus. This is not true. Grace is a gift from God, given only to true believers, who obey God with love, sincerity and humbleness.

Eph 6:24 Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity.

John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

James 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

1 Peter 5:5 ... be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble."

Grace is a spiritual gift package that contains three things. They are:

(1) doctrine of Jesus Christ,

(2) power of the Holy Spirit,

(3) the abiding of God.

They are given as grace upon grace as believers needed them. Grace will strengthen true believers to overcome the world, flesh and Satan. Believers don't have to do the ceremonial work of circumcision or any such church ordinance or ceremony, but they will have to use the grace of God to overcome sin for their salvation.

The love and compassion of God, which is God's mercy, forgives the past sins of a person who overcomes sin. Forgiveness is offered by the blood of the Lamb of God:

Romans 3:25

25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

False preachers say that the blood of Jesus forgives the past, present and future sins. This is a lie of the devil. The forgiveness of God, which is provided by the blood of Jesus, is for the past sins only. If they take the blood of Jesus for granted and try to use it for the present and future sins, then severe damnation will be upon them. {Reference is Heb 10: 26-31}

The gift of God, the eternal life, is not given to a person who is keep on sinning. But it was given to a person, who was a sinner but obeyed God and was made free from committing sin. This person is made righteous and holy and now he is ashamed of the sins that he had committed. As this person continues as such, at the end Jesus Christ gives him/her the gift of eternal life.

Romans 6:16-23

16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? 17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. 18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. 19 ... now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness. 20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. 21 What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death. 22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. 23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

It all summarizes in the last verse saying, sinning people will get eternal death, others receive the gift of God, the eternal life. Verse 23 is not an island by itself, but the summary of verses 16 to 22.

The lie of Satan still goes forth through his servants. They preach to Christian sinners that they are already saved. Then they guarantee them that sinners will not lose their salvation, as if they got it. They say: Once Saved, Always Saved.

2 Peter 2:19

19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage."

Preachers promise eternal life to sinning Christians. While they promise heaven, they themselves are going to hell. The truth is, if a person is overcome by sin, he/she is a slave to sin and not saved. Don’t trust the false preachers. They are servants of the devil. Trust God. Believe the truth. God will bless you.

Nope.

"Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!' "

Matt. 7:22-23
