Question:
Which religion is the true religion ?

There is so many different religions and belief systems for example you have Islam and you have Christianity and a lot more religions, I just used Islam and Christianity because they seem to be the most popular of the bunch, but if Christianity says Islam is wrong and Islam says Christianity is wrong, then wouldn't that mean that both are wrong in a way? and because every religion or most religions disagree with each other then wouldn't that mean that all religions are wrong in a way? not necessarily wrong but more incorrect rather than wrong. If there was a "true religion" then it should be undeniable and every one would just follow the one true religion... but because not everyone follows the same religion that leads me to conclude that all religions are wrong / incorrect...

If there is a God then why doesn't God make his existence known to everyone ? and it seems like every religious person has a different meaning for God, if there was a God then wouldn't every one have the same meaning and the same beliefs, every religious person has a different opinion on the same thing if you know what I mean...

The mystery's of faith an GOD are beyond human comprehension

Faith concerns questions which cannot be settled by evidence.

How can the universe create itself out of nothingness? Given the fact that the universe began to exist, it must have had a “cause” that originated it.Doesn't it make more sense to assume the existence of a Creation. The question is tricky because it sneaks in the false assumption that GOD came from somewhere and then asks where that might be. The answer is that the question does not even make sense. It is like asking, “What does blue smell like?” Blue is not in the category of things that have a smell, so the question itself is flawed. In the same way, GOD is not in the category of things that are created or caused. GOD is uncaused and uncreated—He simply exists.

We know that from nothing, nothing comes. So, if there were ever a time when there was absolutely nothing in existence, then nothing would have ever come into existence. But things do exist. Therefore, since there could never have been absolutely nothing, something had to have always been in existence. That ever-existing being is what we call GOD ,GOD is the un-caused Being that caused everything else to come into existence. God is the uncreated Creator who created the universe and everything in it.

The universe requires a cause because it had a beginning, GOD unlike the universe, had no beginning, so he doesn’t need a cause. Einstein’s theory of general relativity, which has much experimental support, shows that time is linked to matter and space. So time itself would have begun along with matter and space. Since GOD is the creator of the whole universe, he is the creator of time. Therefore He is not limited by the time dimension He created..@

Life without GOD is like an un- sharpened pencil it has no point..

You can't see the wind, but you know it is there because you can see what the wind is doing. You can know that the wind is there because you can feel it.GOD is like the wind, you can't see him

Islam does not necessarily say that Christianity is wrong. It is wrong now, however back then, before the times of the Islamic prophet, Jews and Christians were believers of truth and the Qur'an even promises those faithful believers, who lived before the time of Islam as a religion, with rewards (Paradise)---see chapter 2, verse 62: http://quran.com/2/62 . It is just now, Christianity is no longer teaches the truth, according to Islam; neither does Judaism. Over time, such actual true teachings have become lost; Qur'an has been memorized by people since it was revealed, and never been changed. Muslims highly disagree with the teachings regarding Jesus in Christianity, and Christians highly disagree with how Muslims view Jesus. Personally, it makes more sense for me to believe that the was a messenger rather than associating him with God in any way (like a trinity).

Every religion does have different views of God, you are correct. There is only one God, though; different views for Him. If you are interested, study religions and see which you believe. If you want me to answer "Which religion is the true religion", I would say Islam because I personally believe it to be true rather than other religions.

Research them; that may help. I would suggest going to knowledgable sources, however; that would better help you understand.

Have a nice day.

Look man, it's not that being a Muslim isn't ridiculous, but being a Jew is: everything is ridiculous! You're a human being, and if you attach yourself to any ideology, you're going to be on a road, and that road may or may not lead you in a good direction. But you're going to stay on that road if you're attached to an ideology, and it can be a terrible road: it can be a road of circumcising your daughter's clitoris because that's a tradition. I mean, these crazy people in Africa who cut holes on their lip and stretch them out to put plates on them, why is that? Because they got on a road, and they stuck with that road, regardless of rational thinking--they didn't use rational thinking at all--they're just adapted to a predetermined pattern of behavior that makes life so much more simple.

And that's what every religion is! The problem is, no one seems to know. You can have your own beautiful, personal experiences--you could have been the person who was supposedly touched by god, or the universe--whatever you want to call it. But when you start yelling and ranting that other people have to follow your lead, the world's going to end, people can't be gay and get married--I know you're full of bullshit, and you know you're full of bullshit.

And the real problem is we can't say it because everybody has this religious freedom--the freedom to express yourself. Even if you're expressing yourself with nonsense--nonsense that helps scare lonely, sad people to lock onto that nonsense so they feel like they're a part of something. Religion preys on people's lives that suck. Until we acknowledge that it's our own insecurities that are asking us to search for an answer that's currently impossible to answer, we're lying to ourselves.

And look, I understand that religion can give you some inspiration, but there comes a certain point and time where you need to pop the training wheels off and recognize that all of this morality that you've developed is good because it's good to treat other people good. It's the golden rule, and there's a reason for it: unless you're kind and honest and loving, you're not going to enjoy this life; otherwise, you're going to have problems everywhere you go, and you're going to be problems everywhere you go. You have to find a way to enjoy this life.

It's not because of Allah, Thor, Jesus or Zues: it's because that's how you fit better in the world, and it doesn't have to be some bullshit that was written thousands of years ago on animal skins. That doesn't have to be the answer because it's old, that's dumb.

There are many different versions of Islam and 40,000+ different versions of Christianity before you look at any of the other religions. The Moslems and the Christians both think their religion is the true one but as they cannot decide which version of their own religion is the true one, it makes it all pointless. They cannot all be true so the probability is that none of them is.

All religions are envelopes of the same, and they are all beautiful, but religion tries to bring answers to the human feelings, not to bring true knowledge. Don't worry about ecclesiastical institutions, they search for their own sake, don't get confused, it is a natural human behavior.

The truth could be so wide that NO single human mind can fully embrace it, but you can start your path to approach it. Your neurons are not aware of your existence, and they cannot because of their limited information processing power, but working together they bring your mind alive.

Sometimes religion is about stop questioning.

Praise be our lord and savior, Lord Donkey Kong!!

The road to heaven is full of golden banana's, as far as the eye can see, and all the poop that one could ever throw.

An eternal hell awaits all non-believers. There will be billions of bananas before you. Your stomach will hurt, but alas, the bananas are empty! You will spend all eternity turning over bananas and only finding the peel.

Praise be the great prophet King Kong (May the golden bananas be upon him)!!

what you need to keep in mind is that every religion is a man-made institution... so if you're looking for answers to big questions you will find that every religion offers their own 'big answer' - and will readily bury you in their answers.

What you're doing, as am I, is seeking bigger questions which don't have answers. You don't even have to know what the question is to sense that the answer is out there...

The Bible speaks for it's self....

Jesus taught his followers only one religion, the true religion. It is like a road leading to everlasting life. Jesus said: “Few are finding” that road. (Matthew 7:14) God accepts only worship based on his Word of truth. All true worshippers are united in one faith.—Read John 4:23, 24; 14:6; Ephesians 4:4, 5.

Jesus warned that false prophets would corrupt Christianity. Outwardly, they seem like true worshippers. Their churches claim to be Christian. But you can recognize such people for what they really are. How? Only true worship produces genuine Christians with recognizable qualities and ways.—Read Matthew 7:13-23.

How can you recognize true worshippers?

Consider these five identifying marks:

Isaiah 44:7-8

And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it, and set it in order for me, since I appointed the ancient people? and the things that are coming, and shall come, let them shew unto them.8 Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.

There is one Absolute Truth and many ways to get to(ward) it...

Every religion is truthful. What religion does is that it reflects society, as if society were to look itself into a mirror - its image would be religion. Notice that religions, from Animism toward Buddhism are absolutely related to to the maturing of an individual from Birth to Death. Note that when you were a child, your parents were Gods to you. As you were becoming mature, God shifted into "group" and ultimately into "One with God"... Likewise, in the dawn of mankind, most important Gods were Mother-Gods of nourishment and fertility, etc. Later Gods were dominant male Gods...

So, the thing you should do is study all mythology. They all are spiritual guides through life. That would be taking knowledge from as many civilizations and wise people as you can. Joseph Campbell wrote that a person can learn more from other mythologies rather than from the one of your society...

Learning from other mythologies is like learning from the dreams of other people. Ultimately, you can understand better (and mature through) your own voyage of life... That does not mean that you can automatically apply it to your life, but you could gain a higher awareness over life situations...

The existence of God is like the existence of Nirvana or Ki Energy for example. Those are hard nuts to crack and require a lifetime of discipline and devotion to master. They are simply "the way of life" and are not available in your local shop. I believe that Nirvana exists, and I have an idea what it is, but I am not into it.

God is a mythological symbol which stands for "meaning of life". Mythology, and consciousness, evolved around that phenomenon. Not everyone is spiritually mature enough to understand such vast - cosmic - complex concept.

People define "God" differently, just like they give different values to different things. There is a correlation between individual maturing and collective evolution. It is a big, nice mixture in which many get stuck...

It is important that we worship God in the way that he approves. Many people believe that all religions are pleasing to God, but the Bible does not teach that. It is not even enough just to claim to be a Christian. Jesus said: “Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will.” To have God’s approval, therefore, we must learn what God requires of us and do it. Jesus called those who do not do God’s will “workers of lawlessness.” (Matthew 7:21-23) Like counterfeit money, false religion has no real value. Even worse, such religion is actually harmful. Jehovah gives everyone on earth the opportunity to gain everlasting life. To have eternal life in Paradise, however, we must worship God properly and live now in a way that is acceptable to him. Sadly, many refuse to do so. That is why Jesus said: “Go in through the narrow gate; because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are the ones going in through it; whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it.” (Matthew 7:13, 14) True religion leads to everlasting life. False religion leads to destruction. Jehovah does not want any human to be destroyed, and that is why he is giving people everywhere an opportunity to learn about him. (2 Peter 3:9) Really, then, the way we worship God means either life or death for us. God’s servants base their teachings on the Bible. The Bible itself says: “All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, that the man [or woman] of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16, 17) To his fellow Christians, the apostle Paul wrote: “When you received God’s word, which you heard from us, you accepted it, not as the word of men, but, just as it truthfully is, as the word of God.” (1 Thessalonians 2:13) Hence, beliefs and practices of the true religion are not based on human views or tradition. They originate in God’s inspired Word, the Bible. Those who practice the true religion worship only Jehovah and make his name known. Jesus declared: “It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service.” (Matthew 4:10) Thus, God’s servants worship no one other than Jehovah. This worship includes letting people know what the name of the true God is and what he is like. Psalm 83:18 states: “You, whose name is Jehovah, you alone are the Most High over all the earth.” Jesus set the pattern in helping others to get to know God, as he said in prayer: “I have made your name manifest to the men you gave me out of the world.” (John 17:6) Similarly, true worshipers today teach others about God’s name, his purposes, and his qualities. God’s people show genuine, unselfish love for one another. Jesus said: “By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love among yourselves.” (John 13:35) The early Christians had such love for one another. Godly love overcomes racial, social, and national barriers and draws people together in an unbreakable bond of true brotherhood. (Colossians 3:14) Members of false religions do not have such a loving brotherhood. How do we know that? They kill one another because of national or ethnic differences. True Christians do not take up weapons to kill their Christian brothers or anyone else. The Bible states: “The children of God and the children of the Devil are evident by this fact: Everyone who does not carry on righteousness does not originate with God, neither does he who does not love his brother. . . . We should have love for one another; not like Cain, who originated with the wicked one and slaughtered his brother.”—1 John 3:10-12; 4:20, 21. Therefore true Christians do not go to war and kill their brothers in other countries.

True christians also follow Jesus organization for preaching house to house all their lives until the end comes. Acts 20:20, Luke 10;1,2

christianity believes- god, son of god n holy spirit

islam believes- only one god. he sent messengers

now bcos the two contradict each other completely, it wud not b possibl for christians to say islam is rite or muslims to say christianity is rite.

this however is not in any way proof dat one of the two isnt actually correct. else ther wud b no converts.

it only means that we as people are often ignorant, inflexible and unfavourable to change.

I can’t speak for other religions, but in regards to Christianity the following explains what identifies the true religion according to the Bible.

1. Is there only one true religion? Jesus taught his followers only one religion, the true religion. It is like a road leading to life. Regarding that road, Jesus said: “Few are the ones finding it.” (Matthew 7:14) God accepts only worship based on his Word of truth. All true worshippers are united in one faith.—Read John 4:23, 24; 14:6; Ephesians 4:4, 5.

2. Why do so many different religions claim to be Christian? False prophets have corrupted Christianity and have used it to further their own interests. As Jesus foretold, they present themselves as his “sheep” but act like hungry wolves. (Matthew 7:13-15, 21, 23) False Christianity developed especially after Jesus’ apostles died.—Read Acts 20:29, 30.

3. What are some features that distinguish true worship? True worshippers respect the Bible as God’s Word. They strive to live by its principles. So true religion differs from religion based on men’s ideas. (Matthew 15:7-9) True worshippers do not preach one thing and practice another.—Read John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:16, 17. The true religion honors God’s name, Jehovah. Jesus made God’s name known. He helped people to know God and taught them to pray that God’s name be sanctified. (Matthew 6:9) Where you live, which religion promotes the use of God’s name?—Read John 17:26; Romans 10:13, 14.

4. How can you recognize true worshippers? True Christians preach about God’s Kingdom. God sent Jesus to preach about the Kingdom. God’s Kingdom is the only hope for mankind. Jesus continued speaking about it until his dying day. (Luke 4:43; 8:1; 23:42, 43) He told his followers to preach about God’s Kingdom. If someone approaches you to speak about God’s Kingdom, to which religion does he likely belong?—Read Matthew 10:7; 24:14. Jesus’ followers are no part of this wicked world. They take no part in political affairs or social conflicts. (John 17:16) Also, they do not imitate the world’s harmful practices and attitudes.—Read James 1:27; 4:4.

5. What is the primary mark of true Christianity? True Christians have outstanding love for one another. From God’s Word, they learn to respect members of all ethnic groups. Although false religion has often strongly supported the wars of the nations, true worshippers refuse to do so. (Micah 4:1-4) Rather, members of the true religion unselfishly use their time and resources to help and encourage others.—Read John 13:34, 35; 1 John 4:20, 21. Which group bases all its teachings on God’s Word, honors God’s name, and proclaims God’s Kingdom as mankind’s only hope? Which group practices love and does not support war? —1 John 3:10-12.

As far as God's existence He has made that known through creation and His most precious book the Bible. The fact that you are able to love and give love, shows you are made in His image. There is only one TRUE religion. Satan still uses religion that makes a pretense of being Christian, moral, and enlightening in order to make people live by his standards rather than God’s. (Luke 4:5-7) You have probably noticed that many clergymen today use religion to elevate themselves with high-sounding titles and to obtain money from their flocks. Governments have also used religion to persuade citizens to sacrifice themselves in war. The Devil employs religion more extensively than most realize. You might imagine that only a few religious extremists are serving Satan’s interests. But according to the Bible, “the one called Devil and Satan . . . is misleading the entire inhabited earth.” The Bible also says: “The whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one.” (Revelation 12:9; 1 John 5:19) Yes, Satan uses religion to confuse and water down the truth in God's Word, which has caused mankind to become more alienated from their Creator. I hope you will consent to have a free systematic and educated study of the Bible to answer your questions. I've included a link to a book you may like entitled, "What Does The Bible Really Teach?", it's aim is not replace the Bible but to direct your attention to the Bible for the answers. You can then come to your on conclusion but one based on your personal investigation.

I can't talk about christianity or other religions, but let me tell you why im still muslim till now:P

1- Islam does not compel me to accept all those matters the sum total of which is called Religion merely on authority, but furnishes convincing arguments in support of its doctrines. The existence of God and the nature of His attributes, angels, prayer and its effects, Divine decrees and their sphere, worship and its need, Divine Law and its benefits, revelation and its importance, resurrection and the life after death, heaven and hell -- with regard to every one of these, Islam has given detailed explanations and has established their truth with strong arguments to the satisfaction of the human mind.

Islam, therefore, furnishes me not only with faith, but also with the certainty of knowledge which satisfies my intellect and compels it to admit the need of religion.

2-it does not base itself upon the experience of people who have passed away, but invites everybody to a personal experience of that which it teaches and guarantees. It claims that every truth can, in some manner or the other, be put to the test in this world, and it thus satisfies my reason.

3-it teaches that there can be no conflict between the word of God and the work of God, and thus resolves the supposed conflict between science and religion. It does not ask me to ignore the laws of nature and to believe in things which are contrary to them. On the contrary, it exhorts me to study the laws of nature and derive benefit from them. It teaches me that, as revelation comes from God and He also is the Creator of the universe, there can be no conflict between that which He does and that which He says. It invites me, therefore, in order to understand His revelation, to study His work, and in order to realize the significance of His work, to study His word, and thus satisfies my intellectual yearning."

4- it does not seek to crush my natural desires but guides them along right channels. It does not, by altogether crushing my desires, reduce me to a stone; nor does it, by leaving them uncontrolled and unrestrained, reduce me to an animal, but, like an expert irrigation engineer who harnesses uncontrolled waters and makes them run into irrigation channels, thereby bringing prosperity to waste areas, it converts my natural desires by proper control and guidance into high moral qualities."

It does not say to me: God has given you a loving heart but forbids you to select a life companion, or that He has endowed you with the sense of taste and the capacity to appreciate good food, but has forbidden you to eat such food. On the contrary, it teaches me to love in a pure and proper way which would ensure through my progeny the perpetuation of all my good resolves. It permits me to use good food, but within proper limits, lest I should eat my fill and my neighbor should go hungry. By thus converting my natural desires into high moral qualities, it satisfies my humanity.

5-it has dealt fairly and lovingly not only with me but with the whole world. It teaches me not to discharge my duties towards myself but insists upon my dealing fairly with every other person and thing, and has furnished me with proper guidance for this purpose.

For Instance, It draws attention to the rights of parents and the duties which children owe to their parents. It admonishes the children to behave obediently and tenderly toward their parents, and has made the latter heirs to that which the former may leave. On the other hand, it enjoins love and affection upon the parents for their children and imposes upon them the duty of bringing up their children well, training them in good qualities and looking after their health, and has also made them heirs to their parents.
