You can't have a day unless the Earth does a complete rotation around the sun. Can someone provide me with a logical argument and detailed analysis of how this can happen?

If God Created the sun on the fourth day How had four days passed ?

That seems to be a problem ,I read some of the answers one person claims a day isn't calculated by a 24 hour period because of the Hebrew word "Yom " can be any period of time second to minutes That is funny how did Hebrews

know when the Sabbath is They counted their days from SUNRISE to SUNSET meaning the creation story was written by a person who used a means of measurement for a day ,

Moses is credited to writing the 5 books of the torah also a 80 year old man who Hears VOICES and calls the VOICES god funny no one else hears them same as on the mountain with the commandment story and the killing of the midianites a voice told him to so

they based a whole religion on a 80 year old man hearing voices today he would be diagnosed with dementia , but in their eyes he was "SPECIAL" by today's standard would be called delusional with auditory hallucinations can anyone verify his mental status at the time , too much Egyptian beer parasite infected brain Malaria fever

sad to think all the people killed murdered tortured and wars because a man had dementia and intent , motive and agenda for power and to be a ruler and leader over a group of people and called the voices he heard God as a means of authority and a big group of people do not question it

Oh come on, seriously? Do you just ask what others already have many times before, yet find the replies somehow lacking? To reiterate for the nth time - the six days of creation are metaphors and analogies intent upon conveying a more pertinent point how God is the author of reality. The method in which actual creation unfolded as observed by an indigenous observer, would be consistent with the current models of reality we have in regards to how our universe evolves over time.

Why would an omniscient God need a sun in order to know a day has passed?

How did the earth stay in orbit? Again, why does an omnipotent God need a sun to keep a planet in orbit?

Creation, by definition, is a supernatural act. Obviously that means there's going to be some supernatural events taking place.

It is not supposed to be literal as when you deal with eternity, an eon is like one grain of sand in the Sahara. That is probably quite a good analogy for the actual formation of these things. It is just the order of events rather than an SI description. Scientifically this order does at least make sense. "With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day." Peter but even here this is just a guess at the timescale

Genesis 1:3 "And God said, Let there be light: and there was light." The light was from God's glory.

Read the description of heaven from the book of Revelation 21:23 "And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof."

Did not Jesus say "Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." --John 8:12

God's glory is sufficient.

Well, a God-day is measured in how much bullshit is needed to justify the creation story in light of logic and science. Peter needed a 1000 years worth of Bullshit (2 Peter 3:8), many modern Christians are content with that.

John 8:12 KJV Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Revelation 21:23 KJV And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

We are talking Creative Days, which is far different then a 24 hour day as we now measure it.

Obviously, we do not have details as well, so much to learn on the subject.

I didn't know that the sun controlled the hours in a day.

24 hours is a day, with or without a sun.

Created plants a day before the sun too. Which meant they would have immediately become extinct in temperatures approaching absolute zero.

Love watching the xtians splutter over this one as their world falls apart....

only means there was another light source before the sun was created ! thats what i think, and maybe God has or is his own light source but that speculation. i believe our solar system is not as old as the much of the other parts of the galaxy and probably our galaxy is not as old as other galaxies but older than others.

You honestly think a planet couldn't rotate without the sun?

the earth would rotate four times

that's how we always get four days

the first thing God said was Let There Be Light.

Well you see......the people who wrote the bible (ignorant Bronze Age goat herders) were somewhat lacking in their knowledge of astrophysics and orbital dynamics.

24 hours = 1 day

EDIT: God created the day and revealed it to us via His creation. Time doesn't need anything except imagination.

Please don't ask believers difficult questions. It makes them uncomfortable and upsets them and then they start to cry. It's just plain mean to them.
