People and the Bible say: that Jesus Chirst is the ONLY way to God or Heaven. True?

My question is more complicated. What if Jesus was one of manys ways to Heaven, what would be so blasphemous about that Idea? I understand thats what it says in the Bible about him being the only way to God. But im feeling discouraged and having doubts. Im concerned about the many others in the world who have lived for thousands of years with their own philosophies and seem to live moral lives. I know there is a God. I know there is a purpose for it all. And I know lately God wants me to do something good with this life. I know materialism is fleeting and everything is temporary. Im ready for a change. I just cant help having these doubts and I want nothing more then to be honest relationship with God. Well, what do you other people out there think?

Jesus said he is "the way the truth and the life no one comes to the father except through me." If there were multiple ways he would have said "I am one of the ways..." but he didn't. He said it. I believe it. End of Story!

Whatever makes you happy. Your peace of mind is your compass to your truth. All religions have only some truth in them i think.... if you read between the lines, but you need a good interpreter to understand them. You also don't need a religion at all to have a relationship with god despite what religious people will tell you. You don't even have to believe in a higher power to have a relationship with god. You have one with the universal mind (my term for god) anyway. Think Science. Your mind will become much clearer.

I was never more miserable and tortured then when I was a christian. If I have to live a life in that state to get to heaven, getting to heaven would hold no meaning for me.

And really, I don't know why people saying Jesus said... rah dah rah, like that will convince you. That's like a kid saying to their mother "but why?" and the mother answering "because I said so". How long really is that kid going to buy into that?

The Bible does not say that Jesus is one of the ways to heaven.

It is blasphemous to say that because you are trying to change God's Word.

Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life... no man cometh to the father but by me."

But to ease your mind, Romans 2:12-16 refers to the thousands who live moral lives without ever having heard of Jesus.

2 John 1:9 "Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son."

This makes it very clear that Jesus is the only way. A lot of religions and beliefs claim that one can get to God or heaven, or have a relationship with God, without Jesus. But John states here the exact opposite, that unless you accept Jesus, you are denying God. Now, if you want to reject that, that's your choice, but that is what true Christians believe.

I guess you would have to tell me more...like why these are mutually exclusive choices.

As I understand it, the bible isn't a road map of things to be DONE to get into heaven...it points to the person of Jesus, who was the exact representation of God the Father, and who is the only name by which we can be saved.

So far so good. But what did Jesus accomplish? The good news was that he removed the obstacle of sin that separated us from God. This was to tell us that God knows us...and God loves us...and God wants to have a relationship with us. In fact the capacity for relationship is "the image of God" for which we were created.

God does want you to do something good. He wants you to find the purpose for which you were created: to know and enjoy God forever. In that relationship there is love, abundant life, and power as God himself comes to dwell inside you.

The change would be so seek a relationship with God through Christ. Not to shop for "another way"...if you believe the Bible, there is none. But none is needed.

On Urantia(Earth) the establishment of this "new and living way" was a matter of fact as well as of truth. The isolation of Urantia in the Lucifer rebellion had suspended the procedure whereby mortals can pass, upon death, directly to the shores of the mansion worlds. Before the days of Christ Michael on Urantia all souls slept on until the dispensational or special millennial resurrections. Even Moses was not permitted to go over to the other side until the occasion of a special resurrection, the fallen Planetary Prince, Caligastia, contesting such a deliverance. But ever since the day of Pentecost, Urantia mortals again may proceed directly to the morontia spheres.

Upon the resurrection of a bestowal Son, on the third day after yielding up his incarnated life, he ascends to the right hand of the Universal Father, receives the assurance of the acceptance of the bestowal mission, and returns to the Creator Son at the headquarters of the local universe. Thereupon the bestowal Avonal and the Creator Michael send their joint spirit, the Spirit of Truth, into the bestowal world. This is the occasion when the "spirit of the triumphant Son is poured out upon all flesh." The Universe Mother Spirit also participates in this bestowal of the Spirit of Truth, and concomitant therewith there issues the bestowal edict of the Thought Adjusters. Thereafter all normal-minded will creatures of that world will receive Adjusters as soon as they attain the age of moral responsibility, of spiritual choice. Note:Urantia an ancient name for Earth.

You must first leave your good works and good morals out of it. None of us are good enough to earn our way into heaven. Have you not read Ephesians? It says we then can boast in our own works and make God's grace useless. In other words, our works would then replace Christ's death and resurrection. That's where you start. That is why Jesus is the only way. This is what sets Christianity apart from all other religions. Grace - not works.

Your relationship is between you and God. Your works are to be a witness within your circle of influence.

If Jesus was one of many ways, He would have found out a different way to get us into heaven. Why would He, the perfect Son of God come to earth to die for the sins of the world, if there were other ways to get to heaven. Think about it. Living moral lives in whose eyes? God's or man's? If we look at ourselves through others eyes, we can always find someone that we are more moral than- however when we look at us through the eyes of God, we find out no one is righteous, or moral. That is why we need Jesus as THE ONLY way, THE ONLY truth and THE ONLY life.

The answer lies in this:

Absolutely no other world faith can garauntee that their Savior rose from the dead; This validates Jesus' ministry as real and true. Also, Christianity is the only way to God that provides a free gift there; only faith in the perfect lamb of God as an atonement for our sins...Believe and Live! What do you have to lose?

Depends on what we mean by "the way to God."

It might be possible that Jesus is the way to God...

-- by being the Second Adam, in that He remained faithful to God's will to and through death (thus reversing Adam's failure to do so)

-- by exampling the kind of life we are to live (therefore, anyone who lives as Jesus did are "righteous."

Neither of those require that we be Christians before we can be saved.

When you do finally commit your life to Christ and live for HIM all those doubts will be gone. The devil is putting these doubts in your head because he is the father of lies. ask God to give you understanding about all these doubts. read your bible and cry out to God for understanding. HE will give it to you.

Keep going back to God for help because HE wants to give it to you.

May the God in heaven bless you. Jesus IS the only way to get to God.

you are right about that one!!

A fair and honest question. Jesus was pretty specific in stating that no one comes to the Father "but by me".

You have the freedom to choose whether or not to believe that.

We can throw more scripture at you, but in the end, I don't expect that to convince you. Do you know any Christians you consider good friends? Ask them these questions.

Call me dumb... I do not understand what you are asking. ... If you are Christian (which I am ) you believe that Jesus is the only way (which I do)

What are these doubts? I need more info...

If you are not a Christian then you wouldn't believe this....

I guess I am asking if you have accepted Jesus as your saviour?

I wish I could help but I don't quite know what you are asking?

Good morals, a good life (according to us), still will never make you righteous. You need to understand why you need Jesus, and why there is only one path. Try the article called "The Plan of Salvation" at the link below.

Society forms beliefs, beliefs bundle up, that forms a religion. Many societies have the same basic structure, but instead of calling it "Jesus" they might call it Horus, Krishna, Buddha, Mithra, or etc. The thing is religious belief isn't about who can get more people to support their ideals, but it's based on what you believe in your heart. Travel to the deepest parts of your mind and find your answer, because I can't do it for you.

Jesus Christ,God himself, stamped in human flesh, made the claim...Jesus proclaimed:"If you do not believe that I am,whom I claim to be,you will die in your sin and where I am going, you can not come"...and again:"I am the way,the truth and the life,no one comes to the Father, except through me"...

There are many good people and many paths to choose..but..If Jesus was, whom he claimed to be,there can only be one path, that leads to God....

i think that the Bible is Gods word and the only way to know what God wants from us is to honesly read and try to figure out what God says in the Bible.

The Bible and Christianity are NOT the only ways to God! You CAN have a relationship with God that does not include ANY dogma.

have faith in God Most High, Lord Jesus Christ, the One True Living God. Amen.

For truly, in Him is salvation, John 14:6; 1Timothy 2:5-6; Acts 4:12.

Yes, my dear. Only believe (faith in action- our part to be saved); Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Rom 10:11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Rom 10:12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Rom 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

Rom 10:15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

Rom 10:16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?

Rom 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Besides, God has given us the gift of salvation, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. That one must accept the gift before he/she can see what in it.

Joh 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Joh 1:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Therefore, i urge you to accept Christ Jesus invitation, listen to Him and be saved! Isa 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

Isa 1:19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:

Isa 1:20 But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

Isa 55:6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:

Isa 55:7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

Isa 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

Isa 55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Mat 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Mat 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Mat 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Rom 4:3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.

Rom 4:4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.

Rom 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

Rom 4:6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,

Rom 4:7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.

Rom 4:8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

That once you submit to Christ Jesus a your sin will cleansed and you will know the truth that will totally set you free from such anxiety.

Ecc 12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

Ecc 12:8 Vanity of vanities, saith the preacher; all is vanity.

Ecc 12:9 And moreover, because the preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge; yea, he gave good heed, and sought out, and set in order many proverbs.

Ecc 12:10 The preacher sought to find out acceptable words: and that which was written was upright, even words of truth.

Ecc 12:11 The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd.

Ecc 12:12 And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.

Ecc 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

Ecc 12:14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
