A)- Why do you believe in existence of electron even you have never ever seen them, you have never ever even perform any scientific experiment to conform their existence?

But you still believe in existence of electrons because you have been told by scientists and authors that electron exist. i.e you are believing in them!!!

You believe in electrons because you are told by the authors of science books. Even you have never ever conducted experiments to confirm their existence and it all suggests that you are believers of electrons. In the same way the theists are believers of God.
So its proved that atheists are also BELIEVERS like theists.

B- Some atheists say that we believe in existence of electrons because we see some evidences. Now tell me, there are so many holy scripts that exist in this world like the Bible, The Koran, The Veds etc are they not an evidence of existence of God? What do you think why these holy books were made, when and how?

A) Evidence. A scientist can say "these exist which explains this" and I can observe what they observe and say, "yes, that makes sense". Just like I don't see the electricity in my light switch but I observe the effects of turning that switch on. The name of why this happens could be Cyril for all I care, but what scientists call electricity does what it says on the box. Science tells us what cancer is and how it can be treated or cured. Most of the time this works. Theism tells us to pray to battle cancer. This never works. Therefore one answer must be more true than the other. I know which I'm betting my life on. I don't believe electricity or medicine, they exist as a fact. I live alongside them. I could ignore them, but they will still be there.



B) Holy books were written for the same reason all books are written - to entertain and educate. But if all Humanity rested on the education of thousands of years ago there would be no progress. I recall reading an encyclopaedia from the 50s that stated as FACT that people from Africa have smaller brains and are therefore less evolved as Humans. And that's only 70 years old - well within a single person's lifetime. Education is there TO BE reviewed and renewed. Religious books are held in stasis - We all know God didn't create rainbows after the flood as a sign, or that people can live in whales, or that snakes can talk, etc, etc. Life moves on quicker than bad ideas. Those bad ideas may have been acceptable 4,000 years ago, but not now. A lot has moved on since then. Enid Blyton and Agatha Christie gets edited to remove racist comments after only 60 years. The Bible remains untouched - yet many grow up believing every word of it is true. Result = stunted education, even in the face of overwhelming contradictory evidence.

The answer is peer review. Electrons are confirmed by every scientist who DID build an electron microscope, particle accelerator, or whatever other tools can be used to detect them.



Not a single scientist said "I did this experiment and it didn't work, I couldn't detect electrons". I'm quite happy with scientists keeping tabs on one another and keeping scientific claims in check with peer review. All scientists agree on how electrons behave.



Compare with claims about religion. No theists agree on how gods behave. Everyone claim different stuff about their gods. There are no experiments that can be used to detect gods and no peer review.



Holy books were made by ignorant and superstitious people who didn't have proper tools to explain nature, so they made crap up. And then yet other people found that they could make a living by fooling people into thinking they do the will of gods. And so the priest caste was established.

The first person to produce a single tiny little piece of verifiable evidence for any god will become world famous and mega rich!



Academia states that in the absence of any sort of evidence of the existence of something it must be deemed not to exist until verifiable evidence is found - thus god is held not to exist pending some sort of verifiable evidence.



The bible is what is called "Faction” A fictional story set in a factual time and place. Thus the time, place and real historical characters are all correct but the fictional characters and stories are not!



There is not one single mention of Jesus in the entire Roman record - that is right - not one! At the same time as he was supposed to have been around there were a number of Jews claiming to be the messiah - all of whom are well recorded!



There is not a single contemporary record from any source and even the bible mentions of him like all other references were not written until many years after his supposed death!



He was supposed to have been a huge problem to the Romans and produced wonderful miracles but still not one contemporary record?

Pilate is recorded in the Roman record as a somewhat lack luster man but no mention of a Jesus, a trial or crucifixion that would surely have been used to make him look brighter!



At best he was an amalgam of those others but almost certainly never existed!



Not one word of it is contemporary with the period and was not written until several hundred years after the period the story is set in!! How did the apostles write their books more than a hundred years after they would have been dead?



Christianity is an invention of the Italians and that is why it came from the Holy ROMAN Catholic church!



Please realize that those claims for the Old historians are worthless since they were not even born until long after everyone in the stories would have been so long dead!

She gave birth to an illegitimate child named Jesus. In Egypt, Jesus became learned in sorcery and upon his return presented himself as a god.

We observe certain events in nature which we attribute to electrons and can set up experiments which reinforce that attribution. There is however not single event which we can attribute unequivocally to no other cause than God. So the existence of God rest upon faith and is not amenable to scientific proof.

have you ever read a science book? no one is extolling the virtues of faithfully believing in electrons. they explain what the theory is, how to do calculations with it, and how to do the experiments. you don't have to believe anything, you can check it all for yourself. In principle you can check it anyway: you'll probably need time, money and a bit of talent. so you might think it'd be easier to just trust that scientists have done their work correctly, but science isn't finished. it's necessary to train new scientists... in part by repeating published experiments. you might never have done it, but it's done in high schools and universities around the world on a daily basis.



you seem to think that holy books all describe the same god. it seems that most of your fellow theists disagree with you on that point, though.
