Question:
Joyce Meyer teaching?

I really like Joyce Meyers teaching and how she get her points across. She has really helped me understand the bible and understand spiritual living.
But I have noticed of the last few years her teachings seem to be less bible based and she using scriptures less in her sermons. Maybe this is to appeal to a greater audience and reach others people? The quality of messages don't seem as good as they used to be.
Has anyone else noticed this?? Your thoughts?

You are to follow Jesus Christ and not Joyce Meyer, or anyone else.

The Holy Spirit is the Teacher and not men.

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

He will teach you all things.

That is the massive problem that people do not look to or depend upon Him and prefer to listen to men, or women.

Of course if they do not have Him that would explain why for why would any listen to men when they can listen to Him?

If you listen to men they will tell you that you must listen to men, who, they say, are teachers. In that case, how then can your 'faith' not be in men? And will you not be trained up to be as men teach you?

What a simple trick! What an easy fraud!

Unless you hear God for yourself your 'faith' is in vain.

So you will get what you deserve.

Yes she used to have some good things to say, but now she is just

one of the prosperity teachers, who have watered down the good

news for the new age. As long as she has her plane, her money

and commode, she is fine & b-gg-r the rest.

Oh my Vizvid that was a laugh.... A commode is

not a toilet its a chest of drawers or cabinet with

either a wood or marble top. My grandmother

had them in every room when i was a child and

on top was a basin with a jug of cold water so we

could wash before breakfast as there were no

bathrooms in the house. Inside the cabinet was

often a potty, for night time use.

So her $23000 commode in her office is a cabinet;)

+++++I have heard Joyce Meyer, but only periodically. She does seem sometime to be just a speaker. We as Christians have to study the Word our self. I have heard some preachers, and I know more than they know. You may be ready to get past her teaching, and go into more deep study of the word. I really like Perry Stone. He gets so deep into the Word. Im more in tune to him, because he seems to have the God given gift of wisdom. I got his study on the Rapture of the church, it is so totally awesome. When I saw the DVD's I realized that this man is one that truly studies the Word of God. I mean, he digs deep into the Word. Anyway his website is perry stone.org +++++++Peace

1 Timothy 2

11 A woman must quietly receive instruction with entire submissiveness.

12 But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet at all times.

13 For it was Adam who was first created, and then Eve.

14 And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression.

15 But women will be preserved through the bearing of children if they continue in faith and love and sanctity with self-restraint.

I don't know Joyce Meyer but based on what I do know it is doubtful I'd like her as a prophet

@pip Paul said women can prophecy.

1Co 11. 5 But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with [her] head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. 6 For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.

And God says women WILL prophecy

Joel 2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward, [that] I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

It gives stipulations for it but says women can prophecy one cannot prophecy silent...

So any problems with her do not come from her being female

Her main goal is profit.

She's been investigated.

She owns a marble toilet.

Money that could have saved the lives of starving children.

She's a very likable lady, although I do not follow her shows...I was given one of her books and it was rife with biblical quotes, I'm sorry to say I could not get past chapter 1. I thought that I could not see who she was. She was hiding in those words, and not sharing herself with me.

I think that it is scripturally wrong for a woman to preach. We all have our different roles in the church; however, preaching is not for women.
