What effect did it have on your beliefs? I'm not talking about the ability to read strong's numbers. I'm talking about people who can at least sound out all the words in the Hebrew font at say a first grade level and understand most of the words.

My study of Hebrew has been very beneficial in giving me a better understanding of the Torah and the Hebrew Prophets . Hebrew is a beautiful and concise language and knowing the exact meaning of the Hebrew root words lets us discover hidden jewels in the Bible we could not otherwise discover. For instance the Name of G-d "El Shaddai" translated as G-d Almighty in the KJV.The Hebrew word Shad meaning a woman's breast shows the nurturing nature of our loving G-d. Without knowing Hebrew this would not have come to light. This is also true of the New Testament . Although it was written in Greek as much as 80% of it is direct or indirect quotes from the Old Testament or the Torah & Hebrew Prophets as I prefer to call it. Shalom , Baruch habah b'shem Adonai...

Later edit: Also I might add that my friend Gershon Soloman, of the Temple Mt. Faithful told me I should learn Hebrew because when the Messiah comes he will be speaking Hebrew! Our only disagreement is whether it will be His first or second coming. Even so come Lord Jesus!

I know the names and sounds of all the Hebrew letters, and I can probably buy a coffee in Israel. I have to say it hasn't affected my beliefs at all.

Learning hebrew has nothing to do with changing anyone's beliefs. All it is, is another language. You might as well ask if learning arabic or spanish or german has changed your beliefs.

One thing does not have anything to do with the other.

Trust Judaic-Christian scholars. They have done all this work centuries ago and the traditional Bibles are exacting. Simply trust that part of your Faith.

I learned Hebrew by studying the Qabalah. I can't say it affected my "beliefs," though.

For heavens sake, why would anyone beside the Jewish people want to learn Hebrew?
