stay away from silver ravenwolf. i have read some cunningham ummm geez i don't even remember the other authors lmao!



i am one of the few pagans who prefer to get their knowledge from listening to people talk instead of reading, so i go to seminars and conferences and workshops more than i read.

I have read Scott Cunnigham. I LOVE him. He has a very laid back approach that I enjoy.

I think Silver Ravenwolf has gotten too commercial but I hear her original stuff is decent.

Oberon Zell-Ravenheart is quality. If a little flamboyant. His knowledge is sound. His sanity is shaky. But the knowledge comes through strongly in his writings. Lots of people love them, with good reason, even if we are a bit put off by some of the wacky things he's done.

I would not call him a Witch and certainly not a Wiccan. The word Wizard fits him well.

Oberon is... well, Oberon. Or Otter, or whatever the heck he's calling himself these days. He's done a lot for the community... and whether or not it's good is up for debate, depending upon your view.



The two biggest complaints against him that I can remember at the moment is that he's too much of a showman (breading unicorns out of goats, etc.), and that he's not too welcoming of opposing viewpoints.



The last project that I heard he was working on was the Grey School of Wizardry, which actively tries to present itself in a manner that looks a lot like Harry Potter - a connection a lot of people have been trying to avoid.



So, one way or the other, he's got more than his share of controversy surrounding him.

Okay, Oberon allowed me to place his "We are the Other People" in my own book and I have spoken with him on the phone, he is a very nice fellow and he is an educated fellow.



I like his writings a lot!



As for Ly De Angeles, I did an interview with her when I was publishing a magazine called "Spiritual Journeys" I have also read some of her works...



Ly De Angeles is an educated woman and very eloquent in her writing, meaning she uses big words that if you are not educated, you just might have to look up their meaings!



With Ly De Angeles, if you are looking to learn about Wicca, I would say... don't buy her books, because like myself and like Starrfire Price, our works are not Wiccan centered, but more of what Real Witchcraft or more Traditional Witchcaft is all about. There is a difference.



Are their books worth reading? YES! You can learn something from their works I promise! Then in my opinion you can learn from most works... some you have to wade throught he bull... crap, but there is good info there... others are chalk full of information that is educaitonal!



If you want an easy read... Ly De Angeles is not going to be an easy read, she wants you to use your mind and THINK for yourself! (Uh... this is a GOOD things folks)



Oberon is fun and he is educated... so some of his stuff is goign to be easy to read, and some will be a bit more traditional in form.



Neither are actually WICCA oriented though, but instead more Traditional Witchcraft, just remember that.
