What does the Voice from heaven mean when He says: Come out of her, My people?

Rev. 18: 1 After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was illuminated with his glory. 2 And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird! 3 For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury.”
4 And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. 5 For her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities............
(It continues, but it is very long)

How do we, as God' people come out of Babylon?

We are warned by the prophets and apostles that in the end-times there will be a world system that arises and it will also be a world religion.

It will be instituted by the False Prophet and Ruled by The Antichrist.

Christianity will become apostate, there will be a great "falling away from the faith." Jerusalem will become the HQ for this system and then it will transfer literally to Babylon. There are big plans for the rebuilding of Babylon and these will accelerate as we get closer to "The Time."

Those who join this system will be offered a Mark and to do so will mean you are irrevocably lost. The system will be an amalgam of the present world religions, that is acceptable to all of them. It will be a revival of the rebellion against God that happened on the plains of Shinar, when the world system then was ruled by Nimrod.

An examination of this ancient rebellion against God will give many clue to the form it will take.

Things to look out for.

1. One world government.

2. One world religion.

3. One language.

4. Identifying mark.

5. Oath of allegiance taken by all adherents.

6. Denial that Jesus came in the flesh.

7. Denial that Jesus is God.

8. Denial that Jesus died for all Mankind's sins.

9. Denial of the Resurrection.

10. Allegiance to Antichrist and eventual acceptance of him as god.

Jesus said that as in the days of Noah so shall these days be. If we examine Genesis we will see references to Nephilim, fallen angels, giants, violence, sorcery, magic, idolatry and many other strange occurrences that are not clearly described but just generally referred to. We cannot accurately describe how they will play out in the end time but must be aware that these things will come into play, as Jesus said.

If you belong to a Christian organization that starts to promote these things then come out of this system. Meet in houses, pray with your families at home, meet in hedgerows and in the Catacombs just as they did in the 1st century. Do not receive a mark, make no oaths and remain true to Christ. You will do well if you do this.

God bless you all.

Maranatha.

A religion where there is a mix of Christianity and something else- a politically motivated form of Christianity- with a governmental influence throughout the world. Who does that sound like?

A Christian church which persecuted Christians as it says, 24 "In her was found the blood of prophets and of the saints,

and of all who have been killed on the earth."

Proverbs 7

24 Now then, my sons, listen to me;

pay attention to what I say.

25 Do not let your heart turn to her ways

or stray into her paths.

26 Many are the victims she has brought down;

her slain are a mighty throng.

27 Her house is a highway to the grave,

leading down to the chambers of death.

Babylon, this world, is set in opposition to Jerusalem, the next, being God's Kingdom.

This world is a false religion.

Christ saves us out of this world that is under judgement.

We come out by walking after the Spirit.

That involves a separation whereby we are in this world but not of this world.

We also separate ourselves from joining with unrighteousness, darkness, idolatry, unbelievers, that which is not of grace, and all that would defile as in 1 Corinthians 6.

We are to live from God and His word, not this world.

The voice is hearing God's word to us.

RELIGION!!

religion has made an abomination before God.

the word means "to bind" and God is freedom not bondage.

Jesus was warning us about religion. the pharisees of Jesus time were so very much in bondage or religion so what is different about today. it is not about having to go to a building to worship. should we always worship God in our hearts? it is not about giving ten percent to a church. should we give all we have in our hearts to God? and isn't the body of Christ the real chruch? it is not about denominations. the word comes from division. shouldn't we be in one accord? it is not about the requirements that men put on people. the only requirement is to choose Jesus in complete sincerity and humility.

God wants your heart.

there is so much more to say but not enough room or time

Peace!!

Babylon the Great

Definition: The world empire of false religion, embracing all religions whose teachings and practices do not conform to the true worship of Jehovah, the only true God. Following the Flood of Noah’s day, false religion had its beginning at Babel (later known as Babylon). (Gen. 10:8-10; 11:4-9) In time, Babylonish religious beliefs and practices spread to many lands. So Babylon the Great became a fitting name for false religion as a whole.

What evidence points to the identity of Babylon the Great, referred to in Revelation?

It could not be the ancient city of Babylon. Revelation was written at the end of the first century C.E. and describes events that would reach down to our day.

In the symbolism of Revelation, Babylon the Great is referred to as a “great city,” a “kingdom” that rules other kings. (Rev. 17:18) Like a city, it would have many organizations within it; and like a kingdom that includes other kings in its domain, it would be international in scope. It is described as having relations with political rulers and contributing much to the wealth of men in commerce, while itself being a third element that “has become a dwelling place of demons” and a persecutor of “prophets and of holy ones.”—Rev. 18:2, 9-17, 24.

Ancient Babylon was outstandingly noted for its religion and its defiance of Jehovah

Gen. 10:8-10: “Nimrod . . . displayed himself a mighty hunter in opposition to Jehovah. . . . And the beginning of his kingdom came to be Babel [later known as Babylon].”

Dan. 5:22, 23: “As for you [Belshazzar king of Babylon] . . . against the Lord of the heavens you exalted yourself, . . . and you have praised mere gods of silver and of gold, copper, iron, wood and stone, that are beholding nothing or hearing nothing or knowing nothing; but the God in whose hand your breath is and to whom all your ways belong you have not glorified.”

An ancient cuneiform inscription reads: “Altogether there are in Babylon 53 temples of the chief gods, 55 chapels of Marduk, 300 chapels for the earthly deities, 600 for the heavenly deities, 180 altars for the goddess Ishtar, 180 for the gods Nergal and Adad and 12 other altars for different gods.”—Quoted in The Bible as History (New York, 1964), W. Keller, p. 301.

The Encyclopedia Americana comments: “Sumerian civilization [which was part of Babylonia] was dominated by priests; at the head of the state was the lugal (literally ‘great man’), the representative of the gods.”—(1977), Vol. 3, p. 9.

Reasonably, therefore, Babylon the Great as referred to in Revelation is religious. Being like a city and an empire, it is not limited to one religious group but includes all religions that are in opposition to Jehovah, the true God.

Ancient Babylonian religious concepts and practices are found in religions worldwide

“Egypt, Persia, and Greece felt the influence of the Babylonian religion . . . The strong admixture of Semitic elements both in early Greek mythology and in Grecian cults is now so generally admitted by scholars as to require no further comment. These Semitic elements are to a large extent more specifically Babylonian.”—The Religion of Babylonia and Assyria (Boston, 1898), M. Jastrow, Jr., pp. 699, 700.

Their gods: There were triads of gods, and among their divinities were those representing various forces of nature and ones that exercised special influence in certain activities of mankind. (Babylonian and Assyrian Religion, Norman, Okla.; 1963, S. H. Hooke, pp. 14-40) “The Platonic trinity, itself merely a rearrangement of older trinities dating back to earlier peoples, appears to be the rational philosophic trinity of attributes that gave birth to the three hypostases or divine persons taught by the Christian churches. . . . This Greek philosopher’s [Plato’s] conception of the divine trinity . . . can be found in all the ancient [pagan] religions.”—Nouveau Dictionnaire Universel (Paris, 1865-1870), edited by M. Lachâtre, Vol. 2, p. 1467.

Use of images: “[In Mesopotamian religion] the role of the image was central in the cult as well as in private worship, as the wide distribution of cheap replicas of such images shows. Fundamentally, the deity was considered present in its image if it showed certain specific features and paraphernalia and was cared for in the appropriate manner.”—Ancient Mesopotamia—Portrait of a Dead Civilization (Chicago, 1964), A. L. Oppenheim, p. 184.

Belief regarding death: “Neither the people nor the leaders of religious thought [in Babylon] ever faced the possibility of the total annihilation of what once was called into existence. Death was a passage to another kind of life.”—The Religion of Babylonia and Assyria, p. 556.

Position of the priesthood: “The distinction between priest and layman is characteristic of this [Babylonian] religion.”—Encyclopædia Britannica (1948), Vol. 2, p. 861.

" Babylon the Great fits the world’s collective body of false religion. Although the thousands of religions are not formally united as one world organization, they are inseparably joined in purpose and deed. As depicted by the immoral woman in Revelation, false religion has tremendous influence over governments. Resembling a woman not faithful to her marriage vows, false religion has prostituted herself by forming alliances with one political power after another.Thats why with good reason, the Bible urges people everywhere: “Get out of her [Babylon the Great] . . . if you do not want to share with her in her sins.” (Revelation 18:4, 5) But how do we get out of Babylon the Great?

This involves more than just severing any ties with false religion. Babylonish influence is present in many popular celebrations and customs, in the world’s permissive attitude toward sex, in the promoting of entertainment involving spiritism, and much more. To keep on the watch, it is vital that both in our actions and in the desires of our heart, we give evidence that we are truly separate from Babylon the Great in every way.

The God hating non believers are the Babylon that God is speaking about in these verses. He is telling His people to have nothing to do with these heathen reprobates. He is speaking to Christians of all ages, but most especially to Christians of our present end times generation.

There is a "coming out of Babylon" when we reject the world's view of things and become a separate people in Christ. But I believe there is another "coming out" that is spoken of in these verses. This is the rapture of the Church. It doesnt use the word "rapture", but look at the context of what's going on in the rest of this chapter. It's the end of times.

Repent and turn to God.

Isaiah warns God's people, "Leave Babylon, flee from the Babylonians!..." (Isa. 48:20). John is even more insistent as he says, "Then I heard another voice from heaven say: 'Come out of her, my people, so that you will not share in her sins, so that you will not receive any of her plagues.'" (Rev. 18:4).

A word of caution may be needed here. God never refers to his church as Babylon, and he never instructs his saints to judge Babylon. He only commands his people to come out of her. This coming out seems to be primarily a matter of the heart, and not a matter of pointing fingers at some group, or of leaving some institution or church which we have decided is "Babylonish." We must come out of Babylon in our hearts.

However, it is extremely difficult for us just to come out of something. We must come into something as well, or else we are left stranded in no-man's land. It is clear from scripture that we come out of Babylon in order to go up to Zion. In Jeremiah 50:5, the prophet says, "They will ask the way to Zion and turn their faces toward it. They will come and bind themselves to the LORD in an everlasting covenant that will not be forgotten" (Jer. 51:50).

The spiritual return to Zion will begin to purge God's people from the corrupting influences of Babylon. When we return to Zion; we return to God;(Heb.12:22-24). We return to his pure Word (Isa. 2:3); we return to holiness (Isa. 35:8-10); we return to his rule (Psa. 2:6); and to many other righteous and glorious things. Whatever we have brought from Babylon we will have to lose, for the Bible says, "No rock will be taken from you for a cornerstone, nor any stone for a foundation,..." (Jer. 51:26).

It is interesting in Revelation 19:7, that as soon as the harlot Babylon is judged, the wedding of the Lamb begins to take place. We cannot clearly see the true until the false is taken out of the way. In that day, God will have his people. There will be no mixture in them, for they will not be defiled with women (Rev. 14:4). They will follow the Lamb wherever he goes.

Get out of false religion.

Get out of your church.

Write a letter saying you want nothing else to do with them.

Keep Clear—How?

11 True Christians keep clear of false worship, rejecting false religious teachings. This means that we avoid exposure to religious programs on radio and television as well as religious literature that promotes lies about God and his Word. (Psalm 119:37) We also wisely refrain from sharing in social functions and recreational activities sponsored by any organization associated with false religion. Additionally, we do not support false worship in any way. (1 Corinthians 10:21) Taking such measures protects us from being carried off by someone “as his prey through the philosophy and empty deception according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary things of the world and not according to Christ.”—Colossians 2:8.

12 What if a person who wishes to become one of Jehovah’s Witnesses is currently a registered member of a false religion? In most cases, a letter of resignation serves as evidence that a person no longer wants to be viewed as a member of a false religion. It is especially important that the person take decisive action to avoid completely any kind of spiritual contamination from false worship. The actions of a prospective Witness should make it clear to the religious organization and observers in general that he has ended that religious affiliation.

13 “Do not become unevenly yoked with unbelievers,” wrote the apostle Paul. “For what fellowship do righteousness and lawlessness have? Or what sharing does light have with darkness? Further, what harmony is there between Christ and Belial? Or what portion does a faithful person have with an unbeliever? And what agreement does God’s temple have with idols? . . . ‘Therefore get out from among them, and separate yourselves,’ says Jehovah, ‘and quit touching the unclean thing.’” (2 Corinthians 6:14-17) We heed these words by keeping clear of false worship. Does Paul’s advice require that we also stay away from false worshippers?

What does the Voice from heaven mean when He says: Come out of her, My people?

It means either there really is a God or the individual is suffering a minor mental disorder that manifests itself in delusional thoughts of imaginary beings.

Clearly one is more plausible than the other, it merely take a moment of common sense thinking to rationalise which is the more likely scenario.

>> What does the Voice from heaven mean when He says:

>> Come out of her, My people?

This message is not about unbelievers at all -- or they would not be referred to as God's People. The city of Babylon was the precursor of the city of Babel (as in, "the Tower of ...") -- which represents "confusion" (just as the language of the people was confused at the Tower of Babel). The Bible also uses a woman as a symbol for a church (not a building or single organization, but a group of believers). Thus, when the Bible depicts the Great Whore of Babylon, it is talking about Christian believers, of various denominations (including Catholic), whom are practicing and teaching a confused form of Christianity -- one which has mixed the profane with the holy.

Hence, when the other voice from Heaven says to "Come out of HER," this refers to coming out of religious confusion and getting back to that true Apostolic religion which Jesus Christ, Himself, built upon the Rock of Truth that He was the Son of God and the world's Messiah and Saviour. You won't find this truth only in the New Testament -- for the New Testament did not exist at the time of Christ; is not the Scriptures from which Jesus taught (Luke 4:15-21); and is not the Scriptures from which Jesus expounded all about Himself (Luke 24:25-27) on the Road to Emmaus.

So, if you are looking for the religion Jesus Christ, His Disciples, and His Apostles all practiced, you need to look to the Torah and the Prophets (Isa. 8:20; Luke 16:31) of the Old Testament. These are Jesus' Two Witnesses -- not the Old and New Testaments; but the Torah and the Prophets of the Old Testament. The New Testament is not really New -- it's just really True. See this prophecy in Malachi 4:4-6.

>> How do we, as God' people come out of Babylon?

Don't be like the Jews at Thessalonica, holding stubbornly to the traditions of men, but become noble Bereans (Acts 17:1-13) and invite God the Holy Spirit to really show us the Truth as it is in God's Word -- Christ Jesus. Examples of such religious confusion:
