The word used for 'narrow' literally means, 'narrowing'.

What Jesus was saying was that the road that leads to life is a continually narrowing road. Just like the camel that had to get unloaded from all of its burdens and get on its knees to pass through the "eye of the needle" (little gate) to get into the city after dark, so too do we have to divest ourselves of whatever the Lord requires of us if we desire to continue with the Lord on the pathway that leads to life.

No matter what age we are or how mature we think we might be in the Lord, we always have some problem of the flesh that must get dealt with before we can move on with the Lord.

The road itself is our walk in the spirit which gets illuminated by the Word of God.

Ps 119:105

NUN.

"Thy word [is] a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."

Pro 4:10 - 27

Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and THE YEARS OF THY LIFE SHALL BE MANY. I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in RIGHT PATHS. When thou goest, THY STEPS shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, THOU SHALT NOT STUMBLE. ... Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil [men]. ... But THE PATH OF THE JUST [is] as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. THE WAY OF THE WICKED [is] as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.

My son, ATTEND TO MY WORDS; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; KEEP THEM IN THE MIDST OF THINE HEART. FOR THEY ARE LIFE UNTO THOSE THAT FIND THEM, and health to all their flesh. Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it [are] the issues of life. ... PONDER THE PATH OF THY FEET, and let all thy ways be established. TURN NOT TO THE RIGHT HAND NOR TO THE LEFT: REMOVE THY FOOT FROM EVIL.

1Pe 2:6 - 8

Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I LAY IN ZION A CHIEF CORNER STONE, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.

Unto you therefore which believe [he is] precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,

And A STONE OF STUMBLING, and a rock of offence, [EVEN TO THEM] WHICH STUMBLE AT THE WORD, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.

Gal 5:16 [This] I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Here are the remaining matches.

Rom 8:1 [There is] therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Rom 8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

The ROAD that Jesus talked about is the one each of us walks alone in our walk in the Spirit.

I think I look at it a little differently than most. I do believe you can lose your salvation. It even tells us not to even eat with brothers and sisters who are professing to be a Christian but not living the Christian life, why would it say that and other things if you couldn't lose it? I think the straight, narrow way is living exactly how Christ and the apostles lived, no compromises, no, well that was 2000 years ago, we don't have to do that NOW crap. I think Christ told those to go sell all they had, give it to the poor and follow Him and I think that's EXACTLY what He meant. I believe what the apostles did, that's what we are to do and nothing less. I know that sounds radical, I could really have a discussion with you about this if you want to e-mail me, but I think that's why the way is straight, narrow and FEW there be that find it. I think all of these 'pew screws' who sit in there 'churches' holding down the pews are going to be surprised when Jesus says 'depart from me, I never knew you.'" They think once you believe, your ticket to Heaven has been punched and they can go around being gossips and a holes to anyone they want to and we're all going to get a big surprise.

Matt. 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide [is] the gate, and broad [is] the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait [is] the gate, and narrow [is] the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Christ is the door to the narrow road that man enters upon repentance from wrong thinking and trusting in the savior of sinners.

That narrow road represents the life of the "elect" of God being fashioned after righteousness and love for Christ and keeping his commandments (not to MERIT salvation as we gained that the moment regeneration of the soul took place and the seal was put in us (Holy Spirit).

The broad road is full of the religious and lost and all unsaved who walk after their own ideas and do not have sins forgiven but walk in the course of this world with ideas that do not line up with the revealed word of God as far as salvation, the person of Christ and judgment to come.

The narrow road is the road that Jesus is on. He is "the way" you know. If you choose to follow Him on this road you find yourself on the narrow road. The narrow road asks you to have everything you do governed by love. On the wide road your motives can be anything and everything.

Do you know how many false religions and cults are out there working in the name of Satan? Plus all the Atheist and Agnostics doing Satan's work? That road is getting pretty narrow as times goes by. God bless.

Wow, it is so good to read the answers of so many who have come..offering us heartfelt spiritual references... Sandy's answer so good to see how the birds, come to steal or the stones of sin that have not been turned over to our Lord ~ Dante’s Camille, Bruce and others. All showing us evidence for our edification.

... Why would Jesus Christ say there is only one way, if there were many paths? WE know Jesus Christ is no liar, so why would we not heed His words of truth into ourselves into consideration? What does God know that mankind rejects... as a whole? Repentance is far more attractive than its alternative. We must hear the Spirit in sweet surrender, as we walk with God’s Spirit we know we excel.

Notice some facts about living the narrow way.

1. It honors God - 1 Pet. 1:16

2. It brings His blessings and power into your life - 2 Chron.. 7:14.

3. It offers a far better life from every perspective - Heb. 11:25; Gal. 6:8-

3. Unsatisfied Thirst - Luke 16:24-25

4. Frustration and Anger - Luke 13:28; Matt. 24:51

5. Unspeakable Pain and Misery - Luke 16:24-26; Rev. 14:10-11

6. Eternal Separation - Rev. 21:8; 2 Thes. 1:9

This is a symbolic road, that is way of life. Notice what is said before it "because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are the ones going in through it; 14 whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it."

What seems broad and spacious? How about believing that you can do whatever you'd like...have sex before marriage, get drunk, steal, lie, cheat, hardly go to church, and just because you believe in God you are saved. That is pretty broad and spacious but notice where it leads..."off into destruction".

Jesus said later in verses 21-23 of the same chapter " “Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. 22 Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ 23 And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew YOU! Get away from me, YOU workers of lawlessness."

So when we actually "do the will of" the father we go through that narrow road that leads to life. We need to make sure that our worship is approved by God. And how else do we do that besides a thorough study of the bible. living by grace in the state of grace and resisting the world, flesh and devil

taking up one's personal cross

living according to the lordship of jesus and by His moral teachings, especially the Sermon on the Mount

not fololwing the popular current but swimming against the tide of sin, relativism, selfishness and hedonism

Faithfulness to the gospel will not be much applauded and it demands sacrifice

Jesus is the path because he equal eternal life. The only way to eternal life with Jesus Christ is accepting his sacrifice for your sin and believeing he is your redeemer then you need to profess it publicly that he is the way to eternal life. You would ask him to take away your sin by saying a prayer to him and then you would say you believe he lived and was crucified for your sin openly even when the devil is being mocking by having nay sayers attack your belief that Jesus Christ saved you.

Amazing verses from our brother Dante. Really opened this matter up in a richer fuller way. Thank you brother.

Praise the Lord for the gospel of Matthew which portrays our Lord Jesus as the King Savior with a Kingdom. We see in Matthew 13 that He is the Seed of the Kingdom who is sown into the spirit of men and grows and spreads into the hearts of His believers, to become a realm from which He can rule.

The gate and way are narrow and constricted. As the genuine people of God's kingdom the new law of the kingdom is stricter and the demand of the kingdom higher than the law and the demand of the old covenant.

The narrow gate deals not only with outward conduct but also with inward motive. The old man, the self, the flesh, the human concept, and the world with its glory are all excluded; only that which corresponds with God's will can enter in.

The kingdom people need first to enter in through such a narrow gate, and then to walk on such a constricted way. It is not that they first walk the way and then enter in through the gate. To enter in through the gate is simply to begin walking on the way, a way that is lifelong.

This gate and way lead to LIFE.

Life here refers to the ever-blessed condition of the kingdom, which is filled with the eternal life of God. This life is in the reality of the kingdom today and will be in the manifestation of the kingdom in the coming age.

The Kingdom begins as a seed in each believer. In this seed there is the Divine Life with the Divine Nature. It is according to this Life and Nature that we not only pass through the small gate and walk on the narrow constricted path, but this Life and Nature has the ability to keep us in this way.

This verse tells us that ' few find it'

Matthew 22:14 speaks of many being called, but few being chosen.

This is a very sobering matter. Many will be called to receive Salvation, but few will receive the actual Reward of the coming Kingdom. Why do I say this?

In order to rule with the Lord in the coming age of the Kingdom, we need to be those who take this gate and way that ONLY has room for a walk that is according to the spirit. If we chose to walk according to the Flesh and according to the Self, there is not room. The narrowness and smallness speaks of staying in our spirit with the Lord. Being someone ruled and governed by the Lord, not just in some things, but in all things. If the Lord cannot rule us in this age, would He reward us to be co-kings to rule with Him in the coming 1000 year reign of the Kingdom of the Heavens?

This is no easy thing because we are so used to ruling ourselves and do not pay attention to the condition that can arise in our hearts. We may become hardened by worldly traffic on our hearts that make it compressed, where the Lord's word cannot penetrate, but rather is stolen by the " birds." Or, we may have the stones deep under the surface that are unconfessed sins that the Lord needs to address and deal with through our thorough confession and the application of the blood.. or.. like most of us today, we may be filled up with thorns of anxiety for our life and living or fall under the deceitfulness of riches and its pursuit in this world.

May the Lord continue to Shepherd our hearts day by day through His sanctifying Word of Truth. That we would be One with Him and stay with Him in spirit. It is here where we Walk, Live Move and have our being.

The narrow road is obedience to Jesus' commandments and imitation of his example.

He commanded us to repent of our sins and straighten out our lives. He told us to be born again in baptism. He said our righteousness must exceed that of the Pharisees--an uncompromised Christian morality that rejects the attractive sins of this world, especially homosexuality and abortion. He showed us in Matt 25 that he expects us to sacrifice for brother and sister Christians, attending to their needs. He asked us to trust him in eating his body and drinking his blood in the appearance of bread and wine. Finally, he said to endure to the end of life in fidelity to him.

He also told us to share the good news, as you are doing in your questions and answers in this forum.

Cheers,

Bruce

This is the road to truth.

If you haven't noticed. The world is full of different types of religions. 99.99% of them are false. They simply do not understand what they are reading in the Bible, But will tell others some man made doctrine is what they should follow. Finding the truth about the Bible, helps you understand the truth about God. Then you will find out that there is no fiery place of torment that you burn forever in. Then you will find out that God is one person, not 3 rolled into 1 as the trinity doctrine tries to teach. You will then find out God's plan for the earth. How it will be cleaned up, mankind will live in peace for eternity, how his kingdom will replace the man made governments which are helpless to do anything of any significant importance. They can't even balance their check books, how can you ever think they may be able to cure cancer?

To help you find what this truth is you are welcome to visit www.watchtower.org and fill out the form under "Your Personal Invitation" It is free of any kind of charges. Simply fill out the form and they will send someone out to help you understand the Bible. What you do with that knowledge is up to you.

It means that if you truly want to attain eternal life, you have to keep the commandments and live as pure a spiritual life as you can. a man cannot serve two masters. so just going to church once a week is not going to do you much good if you do not live a clean life as best you can.

Truth.... We are to walk in Spirit and truth. God is the source of all truth revealed to us in the person of Jesus. The truth is that God loves us and how we live is a response to that love.

The small and the great the beginning and end is where the Lord is one, the narrow way, life.

As 7:14 (Matt) where heaven (Seven) and earth(seven) of the new creation is in Christ Jesus if you believe unto fourteen is us. Where the cross made narrow the way so we also care salvation.

The first love must be as small in our hearts as not thinking of it but just natural as love knowing.

As a gate to love of us the narrow of heart (road one) in him is justice to us all that leads to life.

“and only a few find it."

Were two or three *gather* in his name this is the “few”, as making way for Angel and Man in the pureness of word so as Christ lives so we also.

Jesus Saves all and all in all is the Truth;

The love of the Messiah controls us, for we are convinced of this: that one person died for all people; therefore, all people have died. (2Cor5:14)

There are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons. (1Cor12:6)

Therefore, rid yourselves of every kind of evil and deception, hypocrisy, jealousy, and every kind of slander (1Pet2:1)

To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding, and with all your strength, and to love your neighbour as yourself is more important than all the burnt offerings and sacrifices." (Mark12:33"

All who are with me send you greetings. Greet our fellow believers who love us. May grace be with all of you! Amen.

THE ROAD OF RIGHT AND JUST...
2011-07-26 13:39:30 UTC
The Christian way -- following Christ's footsteps. A life of love with God as a Christian. This is the basic Christian message and prayer --- you need to accept God's Son, Jesus Christ, into your life to be a born again Christian and follow God's ways so you can receive God's guidance in your life and get to heaven after you die. Knowing God can transform your life. When you know God, then pray about your life, God can help you live a better life. As God is love, life is primarily about love and relationships in order to have a rich and full life. Also, you need to know God's Son, Jesus Christ, in your life as your Lord and Savior as Jesus died on the cross as payment for our sins. Having Him with you will give you God's blessing and forgiveness, as you live God's way. Not following God leads to hell, eternal suffering. Instead, there is an important prayer to pray to become a born again Christian. This prayer should be said with faith in God and a sincere heart:

"Dear God, I know that I am a sinful person and I don't want to be like this anymore. I know that Jesus Christ died on the cross as payment for our sins, and I want to accept Jesus Christ into my life as my Lord and Savior so I can receive God's forgiveness, guidance, and go to heaven someday. Thank you, dear God, for your mercy and guidance; in Jesus' name. Amen."

This prayer can take you to a new place in your relationship with God and transform your life. After saying this prayer, you should check out a Christian church, like Baptist or Lutheran. The church can get you baptized and prayed for, and you can pray for yourself daily. Also, get into their Bible study group so you can learn more about God, Jesus, and God's will for your life. The Bible is God's instruction book about how to live a God-honoring life so you can go to heaven after you die. Ways to stay connected to God's path include loving God and Jesus Christ, obeying God's ways, daily Bible reading, daily prayer for yourself and others, getting to church, having your church prayer group and/or pastor pray for you, fasting with prayer for a higher level of prayer, getting with other Christians and doing a Bible study, singing hymns to God, taking communion with the church, helping and loving others, expressing your gratitude to God for His help in your life by telling others of your progress and helping them draw closer to God too. God guide your life.

Narrow is the way, few be that find it

By Roger Pritchett

The words of Christ from the Holy Bible below is saying that few be that find the way to eternal life with God. Why do many choose the large gate and broad way with much company? Why do many choose to live only for the flesh and choose to reject the spirit of the living God? Why do many choose to live totally unconfined, and totally uncontrolled living to please only self? Why do many daily choose to walk the broad road to serve the flesh and do evil in the eyes of God? When we choose to serve the world and the evil one of this world we are on the broad road leading to hell. When we walk in the flesh and not in the Spirit of God we are walking down the wrong road. Are these words spoken by Jesus himself telling us that as many who make the rapture there will be as many who miss the rapture? Are the words of Jesus saying that many will go to destruction by not taking the narrow way leading to the strait gate? The word few is the key word here.

Matthew 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

Matthew 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

I recently heard a powerful anointed message from my son in law on the broad paved road that leads to the wide gate that leads to hell. He challenged the congregation to search their hearts to make sure they were ready to meet Jesus and were on the narrow path to heaven. God through the Holy Spirit is speaking to his messengers to speak truth to the people. This message started with talking about the much traveled road that was smooth and easy to travel. He talked about the wide paved crowded road that was agreeable to all works of the flesh and worldly pleasures. He said the wide gate at the end of this road was backed up with travelers. The wide gates going into this area look enticing and fun. He talked of all the sin filled things that trap many traveling down this broad paved road to this wide gate. There are seemingly many pleasures down this broad paved road, but it will lead to destruction. These seemingly pleasures never fill the void in your heart that only God can fill. It is often a wildly celebrated party going down this road. He talked of sin issues that get a hold of people that separate them from God. He mentioned that he was not judging or doubting anyone’s salvation, but we must inspect our hearts and know that Jesus truly lives in us. This broad paved road leads to hell and many will go that way.

He then shifted gears to another road. This road is narrow and looks like it is seldom taken. He talked about a narrow straight path like you would see out hiking in the woods. This road is a straight narrow path that looks untraveled. This road is a path of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and a daily relationship with him. This path seeks through the power of the Holy Spirit to live in righteousness before the Lord. This narrow road can only be followed with the spirit of God living in your heart through salvation in Jesus. This road is the straight and narrow and leads to eternal life with Jesus. This is a life that one lives for Christ and strives to walk daily in the spirit of God and not in the flesh. This is the only road where the void and emptiness in ones heart can be filled by God’s presence. There is nothing of this world that can fill the void in the human soul but Jesus. The spirit of God lives in the born again believer traveling down this road. This narrow path leads to heaven and few will find that way.

When sin is not being preached about and warnings to the saints a lukewarm church will be the result. They have a form of Godliness, but deny the power of the Holy Spirit. The words of Christ’s say that in the last days that many would be lukewarm and would be rejected by God. They are rich and in need of nothing. Scripture could not be any plainer with Christ’s very words telling us that he will reject these that have grown lukewarm.

Revelation 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

Revelation 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

When the word of God is preached the world will come out against you. Upon completion of this wonderful sermon there were those that disagreed with this sermon and accusingly said works was preached and not faith. This couldn’t be farther from the truth because everything he said was backed up by God’s Holy Word the Bible. Often there are those that attempt to take out of context passages in the Bible. They somehow want to twist the plan of God and pervert the grace of God to cover their lifestyle of sin.
