Who has seen this documentary? What did you think of it?

This is an atheist scientist point of view on religion, but I suggest that both sides watch it just to get a new perspective.

I've seen it. It's very interesting, especially when he basically proves to people that they are wrong (the people divining for water, for example) but they still believe.

It's hard for people to give up their beliefs because those beliefs help them make sense of an often "cruel" and confusing world.

I didn't watch enough to know who the speaker is but I can tell you outright that he creates a false dilemma from the very beginning.

He says that there are two ways to look at the world today, through faith or through reason. He is wrong in splitting them apart by the word "or."

The battle is for the minds of the people, and rhetoric is the weapon. Whatever is said, no matter whether it is right or wrong must be processed and the majority don't take the time to consciously assimilate what they understand and discard what doesn't fit.

Faith and reason are not mutually exclusive ways of seeing the world.
