Question:
Just what is wrong with "SEASON'S GREETINGS" or "HAPPY HOLIDAYS" all of a sudden?

Back in the America Jules Duchone grew up, everybody was happy with these greetings. Christmas cards were filled with SEASON'S GREETINGS and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!! Ain't nothing wrong with that. Why now, all of a sudden, are people ready riot and boycott stores that have there employee's say HAPPY HOLIDAYS! or SEASON'S GREETINGS!? My god, people, they still have the same meaning they have always had. Nothing has changed. Say MERRY CHRISTMAS right back, no one is going to ban you from the store. No one is trampling your rights to a merry Christmas. Find something worth while to protest, like $2.50 a gallon for gas. There, I feel better know. Thank you for listening.

There seems to be a vocal cluster of people who are terribly offended to be reminded that not everyone follows their religion. Having to acknowledge that they don't rule the world and get to force everyone into their religion seems to be very painful to them.

Don't get me started on the subject of people who want to attack someone who gives them a friendly greeting.

ha ha! Yeah, I had a friend try to make me wish her a " Merry Christmas" and I wouldn't do it, I said , I hope you have a good holiday! How would Christmas celebrators feels if everyone they saw said " Happy Hanukkah" to them! It annoys me that during the Xmas season that everyone has to say " Merry Christmas" with the expectation that you must celebrate Christmas and they get angry if you won't say it. Since there are several holidays celebrated by different cultures or religions at this time, it is just more respectful to wish a Happy Holiday especially if you don't know for sure what holiday they even celebrate.

I agree, but those are "inclusive" terms...many many people think that this Christmas thing was invented by them and for them, and that this is THEIR time of year and anyone who rocks the boat needs a good spanking.

So, merry merry, and a happy happy.

Nothing at all is wrong with them. Not only are they applicable to all faiths, but they also take in New Year's Day.

Shouting "Merry Christmas!" does not make you a good Christian. Showing compassion and understanding, and overlooking minor annoyances, DOES.

As Lainie said, it's just a tempest in a teapot from a small but loud minority. People like Bill O'Reilly are fanning the flames of the propaganda, because they are in the business of divisive politics and distracting attention from issues of actual importance.

Of course, if you think the bible is enough of God's word, you're right;

it's enough to send you to hell.

Not that it's a bad book if you abide by its precepts.

I mean, if you love your enemies you won't be ashamed

when all things are revealed. But it takes a bit of work

to obtain all-knowledge and one book full of randomly

organized epistles isn't going to cut it...

the stupidity of the American people never ceases to amaze me. we are so spoiled and pathetic that we have nothing of any real value to complain about except "happy holiday" vs. "merry Christmas" we are pathetic.

You're taking all of the meaning out of the pagan ritual by using those terms!!!!
