Question:
Christians who have ever gardened or farmed...how do you get or keep 'good soil'?
2013-03-08 15:58:40 UTC
Now in the days Jesus spoke of, seed could just...spring up, but not today.

What must be done today to ensure a seed of the Word can take root within
the soil or heart?

Metaphorically speaking.

You need water, most of all. Water literally and symbolically is what sustains life. Physically speaking we need water to stay hydrated and survive. Spiritually speaking we need happiness, love and respect for others and ourselves to survive.

Everyone needs both to survive, its just that the methods of acquiring them differ from person to person.

So that is how you get the seed to grow, give it water. Ya na' mean? Love and perseverance increases your faith. But don't hog all the water to yourself give it away to everyone, it will help their plants grow, and even give it to those who have casted the seed away. Again, metaphorically speaking.

I get the botanical analogies to faith and what you are trying to say, I think. Hope this helps. Peace

We had a big chicken pen and all scraps went to the chickens. Then clean out the pen and make a compose pile or we put the manure from the pen on the garden during the winter. By spring it was ready to plant. Add other things from leaves to anything ashes from the fireplace or if you have goats or cows. That makes good stuff to keep the soil producing. The best way is get a kit that tells it's ph balance. If it is very alkaline we use epsom salt and it brings the soil back into balance.

If it is to acid add ashes and it makes it more acid.

some plants like acid soil and some like alkaline.

Salt? I read that your words must be salty when spreading the word.

Colossians 4:6 - Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.

Or did you mean within your own heart. Full trust in God and you have to change your life with his help. Fill your life with him.

As far as my home garden this year I am going to dig all the soil out, and put new, fresh soil in. My vegetable didn't grow well the last couple of years.

The account at Luke 8:12-15 shows that in all four instances, people ‘hear the word.’ However, those having “a fine and good heart” go beyond “hearing the word.” They “retain it and bear fruit with endurance.” The fine and good soil, being soft and deep, allows the roots of the seed to sink down, and as a result, the seed sprouts and produces fruit. (Luke 8:8) Similarly, those with a fine heart understand, appreciate, and absorb the word of God. (Romans 10:10; 2 Timothy 2:7) The word of God remains in them.

The bible don't have any historic fee because there’s no data that it’s genuine. on the time the bible became written there became in basic terms a handful of written languages. maximum individuals the position illiterate. the in basic terms those that the position writing were royal officials and scribes that artwork for them. the opportunity of a fishermen being literate became next to none. positioned it this way, in case you look on the various human beings contained in the bible and who would have write it. Ponchous Pilot should be the right candidate because he became a royal reliable that easily ought to were Literate. If he existed. From the appearance of issues there became likely a very cleaver reliable like determine that got here up with a superb thanks to regulate human beings. in spite of everything searching new efficient techniques to regulate human beings is what they do and it’s what the bible does nicely. contained in the flood tale of the former testomony there’s an huge blunders that asserts lots. You’ll note that in case you turn the verses round in financial disaster 7 and eight of genesis you get 2 flood thoughts. meaning there became likely 2 authors. yet human beings say Moses on my own wrote the torah. tale one: 7:2 (area one) you shall take with you seven each and each and every of each and every sparkling animal… 7:12 and the rain became on earth 40 days and 40 nights… 8:7 then he despatched out a raven which kept going from area to area until eventually the waters had dried up from the earth. tale 2: 7:9 2 by ability of two they went into the ark to Noah, male and lady, as god had commanded Noah 7:24 and the waters prevailed on earth 100 and fifty days. 8:8 he also despatched out from himself a dove, to make sure if the waters had receded from the face of the floor. 2 thoughts 2 authors and incredibly undesirable enhancing.

its all about managing the soil, not abusing it. given time the land itself would heal itself and become fertile.

but most modern corporations abuse everything about farming, including destroying profitable milk farms, animals farms and healthy chicken farms. even threatening individual citizens with jail time if they grow food in their front lawn

see food inc, the future of food, and farmegeddon, there is also a documentary on Aspertame, sweet poison.

Rotation of crops, what goes around comes around.

Sowing a seed begins with trust and ends with truth.

What one is saved with, one should also treat with.

How one was sowed, sow like wise.

I ask sometimes, how is it one is saved by grace, yet grace is not transferred by said such grace.

Faith. Without faith it is impossible to please God. Faith is to believe in that which can,t be seen, but which is true. Those who honestly seek God and keep his commandments receive a witness from the Holy Ghost that God lives and that Jesus Christ is the Savior of mankind. Faith in that witness and obedience to the word of God leads us to the Father and the Son.

When a seed is planted it must be delivered with bull feces (i.e. fertilizer). Without lots of bull feces the seed will not grow.

Sow to yourselves according to righteousness, reap according to mercy, break up your fallow ground; for it is time to seek the LORD, till He come and cause righteousness to rain upon you.

Ye have plowed wickedness, ye have reaped iniquity, ye have eaten the fruit of lies; for thou didst trust in thy way, in the multitude of thy mighty men.

This indicates repentance.

Clearly then you also must not put your trust in yourself, nor in men no matter how mighty or eminent in church circles. You must look only to the Lord and trust only in Him and depend only upon Him.

For that you will surely need to be much in His word, examining, pondering and seeking for Him to speak through His word. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

It is after all His work, not yours for none of our works are acceptable to Him, but you must be willing for Him to do the work no matter what you must go through. in this regard the cross is vital.

And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.

And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

Hear also the Apostle Paul's example :

And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men.

Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:

Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.

Sin hardens the heart and deadens the conscience so to follow his example will plough up the ground of the heart to keep it soft and receptive.

Those who seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand - By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:

For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them - were so because they knew not their need.

Therefore seek for God to show you your need and do not be surprised if what you see abhors you and frightens you. That would be good and a blessing for then you would fly to Him and it would keep you humble and tender.

Finally why not also take the advice of the Apostle Peter?

According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

---Think on that! We are to live by His life not ours. But he continues ---

And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;

And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
