Scripture plainly states, those who curse Israel will be cursed, those who bless Israel will be blessed. NO where does it say that the creator has changed his mind on the available scriptures. Christ was a jew. Many scriptures, New Testament, too, plainly support Jews/Israel.

On this thing I agree with you. I've never been able to get that one.

Edit: Mike C, I get you. Best explanation, I had forgotten the many Covenant Christians. Sorry to any of them.

Dispensationalists take the Bible literally that a remnant is promised.

There is only one reason why anyone should support Israel - and that's because they know it is the only democracy in the entire region and that it battles terrorism with a passion.

Those Christians who support Israel because they believe it will somehow hasten the 'return' of Jesus - Israel does not need that type of support. If I'm understanding Christian beliefs correctly, many of you believe that Jews will ultimately worship Jesus? That will never happen, Jews are forbidden to worship humans, and we don't believe a human can ever be 'divine'.

So please, take your support elsewhere. Israel needs genuine allies, who like her, abhor terrorism and who fight for democracy.

Human history is full of examples of persecution of Jews by Christians. It shouldn't be surprising that not all Christians support secular Israel.

I support Israel, but it's based on the politics of the issue, not the religious implications.

Religiously, I view the Jews as being God's chosen, and that Christians are grafted into the tree of the promises. In other words, I reject Replacement theology.

Um...dude? Nothing against Israel or the Jews. I hope you guys hold off against the Muslims until oh...they have their entire culture smashed to rubble by peak oil, but ...Christians can do anything they damn well please and the bible will support them. Hate the gays? here are your passages. Gay? here are your passages. Hate science? here are your passages. a scientist working on decoding our DNA and thus proving we were descended from 'monkeys' ? Ok here are your passages. Creationist? here you go. Believe we all live in the Matrix? Here you go. It makes no ******* difference. There are over 30,000 different church demominations. I'm sure they can find one specifically suited for them. They're like yahoo groups.Ostap B- I support Israel. You say they're being genocidal but what happens if they stop what you object to ? What happens if they just walk over to Palestine and hand over their guns? I think the most honest way to look at it is to just recognize that everyone is in a situation left by the people before them and by their own inability to change the situation. Maybe a person tries to fix it and that's good. Maybe they don't. You talk of Israels 'genocide' but conveniently ignore who they're 'genocidal' against. It's palestine. If America had dumped the Jews in Wisconsin they wouldn't be in this mess but the Muslims have to have their little rock and the Jews have no where to go. As for Christians being hatemongers are you just lashing out at Christians because you're sick of them on y?aR/S and what they're doing to America or are you seriously implying that Christians have a monopoly on hate? And if so ...do you hate them for it?

Get out of the Old Testament. Israel is no longer God's people. He cut them off when they rejected Christ. Christians were grafted on to the tree when the branch of Israel rejected Him. When Israel finally figures out the truth, they will be grafted back onto the tree.

Jesus came to preach the gospel to the Jews first. After he died, then the disciples were told to go preach it to the gentiles and convert them to Christ. The Jews that accepted Christ, became "Christians"... i.e. followers of Christ or disciples of christ. (Messanic Jews). The gentiles that accepted Christ also became "Christians".

Israel is not a Christian state. It is a Jewish state. The government is secular and can defend itself quite well, since the U.S. government supplied them with all their nuclear warheads.

What exactly am I suppose to support? The U.S. government takes american taxpayer money to support illegal weapon sales to another country, to start wars.

God said, "Thou shalt not kill."

He did not say, "Thou shalt not kill, except in time of war."

Get right after it sinner. Support Israel. Support the US. Support all their illegal wars, invasions and occupations of other soveriegn nations.

We'll see how God deals with you, Israel, the US and other war mongerers.

I say it is because one of the main religions in Israel is Judaism, in other words, they are mostly Jews. Jews believe that the Messiah has not come yet but Christians know and believe that Jesus, the Messiah, has already came, died on the cross, resurrected and is living in our hearts and in heaven till this day. It is also because scripture is talking about at that time. At this time and day, there are 2 groups. Christians and Jews. I have already shown the difference above. Still, i my not be correct. Pray about it...This is one of the things that have no real known correct answer, like how Jesus, God the Father and the Holy spirit are one god.

Israel, in the bible, refers to the body of the assembly of God, wherever they may be. It is not a place.

The state of Israel is something entirely different.

I can not support war but do pray for the holy land and all those at war.

If you support Israel in its genocidal endeavor then you are a hate monger, regardless or your religious affiliation.

But then, Christians are hate mongers.

Hate is a Christian value.

Same way a good Muslim doesn't support jihad against christians or americans. Out of goodness in their hearts.

Jesus said his kingdom was no part of this world. He said his followers, the Christians, are no part of this world.

Jesus obviously rejected Israel in the latter part of Matthew chapter 23.

Where did Jesus say to support a particular government over another?
2008-08-11 08:17:16 UTC
Easily, some of Christians don't want to be drawn needlessly into a nuclear war.
2008-08-11 08:14:13 UTC
So however evil the bahviour of Israel, Christians must support it.

Hence Christians must be willing to support arbitrary levels of evil.

Hence Christians are evil.

Nice. Like your logic. Fits with my observation of the type.

I wouldn't say its hard to do. Look right here. I am a Christian and I hate Israel. There I did it.

Maybe because not all Christians are as narrow-minded and dogmatic as you?
