Question:
Does your God have an opinion on playing Chess?

Jehovah does. This is just further proof that God is working exclusively through Jehovah's Witnesses.

From the March 1973 Awake titled "Chess, What kind of game is it?" We can learn how Jehovah views this wicked game.

"Of course, chess is not, in this respect, much different from other competitive games. Participants who desire to please God, regardless of the game they are playing, need to be careful that they do not violate the Bible principle"

"Probably most modern chess players do not think of themselves as maneuvering an army in battle. Yet are not the game’s connections with war obvious?"

"The extreme fascination of chess can result in its consuming large amounts of one’s time and attention to the exclusion of more important matters, apparently a reason Huss regretted having played the game. Also, in playing it there is the danger of “stirring up competition with one another,” even developing hostility toward another, something the Bible warns Christians to avoid doing."

==========

The competition and war-like spirit of this foul game are evident. Anyone who can remember High School no doubt were terrorized by members of the School's Chess Club. The parallel of playing Chess and violent behavior are obvious. I can't believe that so-called "Christians" today don't speak out about the evil of games such as Chess.

Truly it's a blessing that our God, Jehovah has moved his earthly representatives to speak out about this evil. Why hasn't your God warned you about the wicked game of Chess?

I think on this point alone, people should be moved to leave behind their false religion and seek out Jehovah's Witnesses. It's not too late to ask for forgiveness for playing Chess.

I genuinely feel sorry for anyone who thinks playing board games like chess is a sin. I will pray for the Jehovah's Witnesses, neighbor.

Thanks for sharing.

Matthew 10:34, "Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword."

Maybe you should actually learn what your Bible says before you make stupid criticisms.

Oh, and what I quoted was from the New Testament. Although there is an abundance of Old Testament stuff that I can quote to show that you're criticizing subjects that are in the Bible, I specificially quoted from the New Testament because you Christians are so fond of saying that the Old Testament is irrelevant when criticized for it, even though plenty of you use the Old Testament when it benefits your agendas.

Try not being so ignorant in the future by using "Christianity" to criticize things on moral grounds when the same subjects you are criticizing are found in Christianity.

What other fun war-like board games do Jehovah's Witnesses play and need forgiveness for playing them? Risk? Battleship (my favorite)? Monopoly (JW favorite business war game-REAL ESTATE)?

They must not be like the hypocrites and play these games, it condones hostile behavior. Then again the JWs are already hostile toward opposers.

There are pedophile board games (like Operation for example) the JWs play but since the question pertains only to war games, we should respectfully address this topic in a new question.

There is a "war like spirit" in games almost every single way. Jesus commend us to fight for the what is right and be tough and be strong. Just because some few can control themselves doesn't mean it is wrong.

Terrorized? By the Chess Club? What planet do you live on?

This just confirmed the the JW are the cult and this so called "Christian faith" is nothing but a bunch of lies.

If God is playing white, white wins. If God is playing black, black wins. Justification: God is all-powerful and suitable. If the 2d portion of your question is between people or computers, what's the outcomes of completely performed interest? by way of definition is must be a draw. this is likewise my justification, definition of completely performed interest. If it fairly is suitable you won't be able to lose, consequently, neither facet can win. could be a draw.

Some Jehovah’s Witnesses may play chess because they do not associate it with war, or believe its’ early history is relevant today. So we are allowed to exercise our Bible-trained consciences on this matter. Personally, I think it’s a matter of spiritual maturity. We need to stay as far away from the appearances of evil as possible. Given the military connotations of chess, I personally abstain.
