Why do theists use the word TRUTH when they mean Faith?

I hear people say things like " One TRUE God , or the TRUTH of Jesus Christ" and stuff like that all the time. But is it the Truth? Do they know it because they feel it? Do they feel it because they know it?

I tend to use the word Truth differently.

I can have Faith or Believe that my car will get me to work today.

I will not KNOW that my car will get me to work today until it actually gets me to work.

And thats the Truth.

I know I have asked this quit a few times , but I keep getting different answers.

Those who do are probably insecure in their beliefs. Not secure enough to admit that they may be wrong, so they feel a need to assure you (in actuality, themselves) that they're right.

Assumption that the physical world correlates with your conscious knowledge of reality. Not necessarily proving it will work the next day (and that's the truth).

In a sense, "truth" and "faith" are interchangeable terms. Sometimes they are not. You cannot know something to be the truth without faith, even a little faith. [Even faith as small as a mustard seed...]. Jesus said He is the way, the truth, and the light...then he asked, "Do you believe this to be true?" You just cannot know the truth without having faith...

That is an example of how the Biblical word faith is misused today. It's sad. It is not the same as Faith in God.

Some do seem to imply absolute truth when speaking of their beliefs. What they should say is it's the truth to them - which is closer to reality.

Oh, and Eastern religion acknowledges a lot of things are taken on faith. And some aren't. Plenty of our "beliefs" are simple observations. More like philosophy.

The same reason they use "fulfill" instead of "nullify". It's a different concept of English..

Here is the TRUE answer God is the one true God but we have to have faith in Him.

It's like you have faith your car will work. true?
