I'm becoming a Christian...but I'm also really into science..I study it alot...And I was reading a bit ago how life came about..It explained how it started out with small creatures like fish, then amphibians, then reptiles, and then mammals..It made so much sesne..But how can one believe this and also follow god/jesus...To follow them you have to believe the bible is true or the whole thing does NOT make sense..If god is real, why did he use a bunch of cells and all and then just let them go...I mean idk maybe im just dumb but its hard to be a christian and also be a science nerd..If Gods real, then why did he make life the way he did? (If you are into science then you know what im talking about...No life for a long time, then slowy life appears..and it takes millions and millions of yrs for us to even show up...Why would God do it this way? Thats what gets me...The bible creation isnt true..so how can you pick bits out of the bible and say this bit is true but this isnt? how can one believe in a god from a book but not believe in the book? It cant work:( HELP!? I wanna be a christian but i dont think its possible..I believe science is true bc its been proven so..But how the hell does one be a christian and believe this all as a fact too? You need to believe in the bible to be a christian or it doesnt make sense and dont say it doesnt either bc it does..Why wouldnt god just make all all at once instead of using evolution and letting us evolve from a common ancestor from an ape..

Have you considered that there is an answer from the Bible? Yes, the Young Earth Creationists are wrong, but that is because of their limiting God's power, that he had to create the earth and all life before the weekend. They fail to understand that the Hebrew word for day, could be applied in various ways, similar to our own use of the word. For example "In my day, we did not have computers". Did that statement mean that 1 day in his life, computers didn't exist, or that in the era he grew up in, they were not available.

So example other options, see that what some call "Old Earth Creationists", don't limit God to a 7 day (168 hours) for the creation of the earth and filling it with life. One Geologist, when addressing the issue of the creative days listed in the Bible said this about the Genesis account.

“If I as a geologist were called upon to explain briefly our modern ideas of the origin of the earth and the development of life on it to a simple, pastoral people, such as the tribes to whom the Book of Genesis was addressed, I could hardly do better than follow rather closely much of the language of the first chapter of Genesis.” This geologist, Wallace Pratt, also noted that the order of events—from the origin of the oceans, to the emergence of land, to the appearance of marine life, and then to birds and mammals—is essentially the sequence of the principal divisions of geologic time.

The issues that Young Earth Creationism is addressed, and without the need of creating lies that "God made the fossils to 'test' our faith" or that the Devil made them.

Please check out the links below. One was to document who Mr. Pratt was, and the second, a link to give you reason to have faith in a Creator, who for billions of years, prepared a world to be full of life. You will find other articles listed in the link that should build up your faith.

the bible already contains so much misinformation, how can you sure that the parts where it talks about jesus is intact? No, the bible is already unreliable and has gaps for human's wishful embellishments. The bible was also written and compiled long after jesus's death.

You can, however, live by it's good values. But that is as far as you can go if you want to be rational. Creationism is totally BS, in lack of a more fitting word. Intelligent design? Have you seen the flaws behind living things in terms of biology? Example:

Out body(shoulder) is imperfect.

The laryngeal nerve in some animals are "redundant"

These are grave flaws that if an intelligent being does exist, he would have realised it.

Why not be a skeptic? It is a humble approach in pursuit of knowledge without being biased by religious claims.

Look, science is the study of the material world. religion is in the realm of the spiritual/religious, God.

The Bible is a spiritual book, full of metaphors, allegory. Most is not meant to be taken literally.

When Jesus said take up the cross and carry it all around, when he said if an eye offends you, pluck it out, he wasn't talking literally. The story of 6 days is the same thing. Whatever happened, God caused to happen. End of story. Evolution is not against God, not against the Bible, not against Jesus.

Many Christians believe in Evolution. Many Christians are scientists. Many scientists are believers.

You need to do some thinking for yourself, dude. There are many articles, books on religion and science, how the Bible shouldn't be all taken literally, how scientists can be Christians, etc. Think for yourself, decide for yourself and stop belieivng everything you hear.

Many who do not believe in the Bible embrace the theory that living things emerged from lifeless chemicals through unknown and mindless processes.

Supposedly, at some point a bacteria-like, self-replicating organism arose, gradually branching out into all the species that exist today. This would imply that ultimately the mind-bogglingly complex human actually evolved from bacteria.

The theory of evolution is also embraced by many who claim to accept the Bible as the word of God. They believe that God produced the first burst of life on earth but then simply monitored, and perhaps steered, the process of evolution. That, however, is not what the Bible says.

The Bible account of creation does not conflict with the scientific observation that variations occur within a kind.

According to the Bible, God created all the basic kinds of plant and animal life, as well as a perfect man and woman who were capable of self-awareness, love, wisdom, and justice.

The kinds of animals and plants created by God have obviously undergone changes and have produced variations within the kinds. In many cases, the resulting life-forms are remarkably different from one another.

How did life begin? Can a living cell arise from nonliving matter?

Science cannot answer that question.

Find a John C Lennox book and read it.

the two are openly reconcilable since the dawn of man, It is Religious people that introduces Science as a methodology to the world then came these emotionally driven google atheists right out of there debating manuals and high jacked science and turn it into a religion.

Can GOD and SCIENCE coexist!?

You don't know very much about science history, more than 95% of science was founded by Christians. God has existed since the beginning of science, scientists like Newton and Kepler used the Bible as a starting pointing, then tried to figure out how Goddidit. Same with Maurey, from his Bible studies saw a passage referred to as "the pathways through the seas." He is responsible for discovering the shipping sea lanes used today.

Your question misrepresents truth. God coexists with science just fine, as does the Bible. If you don't think so, by your claim, you are obligated to provide evidence in the integrity of your claim, or fail automatically.

The question should be: can "atheists" and science coexist? Science is entrenched in truth and integrity of detail, as are Christians. The atheist has no such moral code or rule. Without truth, the atheist operates on unfounded opinion, almost certain he will get the wrong answer.

What you are confused about is the atheist/evolutionist myth proclaimed as "fact" by pseudo-science (not science) supported by unfounded opinion. Duh, what else?

You say "the bible creation isn't true." Do you have evidence for a better explanation? I don't think you've looked at the evidence or confirmed your starting assumptions with evidence.

It was Lyell that convinced the geological society of millions/billions of years (old age). This was the perfect stage for Darwin, and the two together cemented old age as "history." It is still only unfounded opinion based on ulterior motive. Lyell openly declared that he wanted to remove the influence of Moses (the human author of Genesis) from geology, revealing his motivation was spiritual, not scientific [R.S. Porter, “Charles Lyell and the Principles of the History of Geology,” British Journal for the History of Science, IX, 32 no. 2 (1976): 91–103].

Yet all of the churches and gov't and media and colleges have accepted evolution into their daily lives and minds, not realizing Noah and the Bible were being destroyed by back-stabbing atheists. The church is starting to wake up to the "fact" that no part of evolution can be combined with the Bible any more than peach pie can be made from the recipe of the Constitution. Oh, the Constitution isn't a recipe? Neither is Noah's Flood a myth or allegory. There can be no faith in a metaphor, and we're back to gathering stones.

Evolution can never be fixed because it is only unfounded opinion, talk about a Big Lie! Got the whole world on that one, pretty slick willies. Thanks for all of that circular reasoning around "nothing," now can we shoot this thing and get on to something productive?

You don't need to accept the bible as fact in order to find truths in Jesus' teachings. (Please note that I said "truths", not "facts".)

Does it really matter if God or Jesus exist/ed? You can still be a good person whether you believe in them or not.

Yes, absolutely. The concept that science and God are mutually exclusive is totally a liberal and atheistic concept. Many scientists have discovered that nature lines up closely with the Bible. In fact, most of the greatest scientists in history, many of them the fathers of our modern day comfort, were all devout believers. Just take a moment to read a few examples of great scientists whose faith actually guided their scientific work:

1. Nicholas Copernicus (1473-1543)

Copernicus was the Polish astronomer who put forward the first mathematically based system of planets going around the sun. Copernicus referred sometimes to God in his works, and did not see his system as in conflict with the Bible.

2. Sir Francis Bacon (1561-1627)

Bacon was a philosopher who is known for establishing the scientific method of inquiry based on experimentation and inductive reasoning. In De Interpretatione Naturae Prooemium, Bacon established his goals as being the discovery of truth, service to his country, and service to the church.

3. Johannes Kepler (1571-1630)

Kepler was a brilliant mathematician and astronomer. He did early work on light, and established the laws of planetary motion about the sun. He also came close to reaching the Newtonian concept of universal gravity - well before Newton was born! His introduction of the idea of force in astronomy changed it radically in a modern direction. Kepler was an extremely sincere and pious Lutheran, whose works on astronomy contain writings about how space and the heavenly bodies represent the Trinity.

4. Galileo Galilei (1564-1642)

After the "trial" and being forbidden to teach the sun-centered system, Galileo did his most useful theoretical work, which was on dynamics. Galileo expressly said that the Bible cannot err, and saw his system as an alternate interpretation of the biblical texts.

5. Rene Descartes (1596-1650)

Descartes was a French mathematician, scientist and philosopher who has been called the father of modern philosophy. His school studies made him dissatisfied with previous philosophy: He had a deep religious faith as a Roman Catholic, which he retained to his dying day, along with a resolute, passionate desire to discover the truth.

6. Blaise Pascal (1623-1662)

Pascal was a French mathematician, physicist, inventor, writer and theologian. In mathematics, he published a treatise on the subject of projective geometry and established the foundation for probability theory. Pascal invented a mechanical calculator, and established the principles of vacuums and the pressure of air. He was raised a Roman Catholic, but in 1654 had a religious vision of God, which turned the direction of his study from science to theology. Pascal's last words were, "May God never abandon me."

7. Isaac Newton (1642-1727)

In optics, mechanics, and mathematics, Newton was a figure of undisputed genius and innovation. In all his science (including chemistry) he saw mathematics and numbers as central. What is less well known is that he was devoutly religious and saw numbers as involved in understanding God's plan for history from the Bible.

8. Robert Boyle (1791-1867)

One of the founders and key early members of the Royal Society, Boyle gave his name to "Boyle's Law" for gases, and also wrote an important work on chemistry. Encyclopedia Britannica says of him: "By his will he endowed a series of Boyle lectures, or sermons, which still continue, 'for proving the Christian religion against notorious infidels...' As a devout Protestant, Boyle took a special interest in promoting the Christian religion abroad, giving money to translate and publish the New Testament into Irish and Turkish.

9. Michael Faraday (1791-1867)

Michael Faraday was the son of a blacksmith who became one of the greatest scientists of the 19th century. His work on electricity and magnetism not only revolutionized physics, but led to much of our lifestyles today, which depends on them (including computers and telephone lines and, so, web sites). Faraday was a devoutly Christian member of the Sandemanians, which significantly influenced him and strongly affected the way in which he approached and interpreted nature.

10. Gregor Mendel (1822-1884)

Mendel was the first to lay the mathematical foundations of genetics, in what came to be called "Mendelianism". He began his research in 1856 (three years before Darwin published his Origin of Species) in the garden of the Monastery in which he was a monk.

11. William Thomson Kelvin (1824-1907)

Kelvin was foremost among the small group of British scientists who helped to lay the foundations of modern physics. He was a very committed Christian, who was certainly more religious than the average for his era.

12. Max Planck (1858-1947)

Planck made many contributions to physics, but is best known for quantum theory, which revolutionized our understanding of the atomic and sub-atomic worlds. In his 1937 lecture "Religion and Naturwissenschaft," Planck expressed the view that God is everywhere present, and held that "the holiness of the unintelligible Godhead is conveyed by the holiness of symbols." Atheists, he thought, attach too much importance to what are merely symbols.

13. Albert Einstein (1879-1955)

Einstein is probably the best known and most highly revered scientist of the twentieth century, and is associated with major revolutions in our thinking about time, gravity, and the conversion of matter to energy (E=mc2). He recognized the impossibility of a non-created universe. The Encyclopedia Britannica says of him: "Firmly denying atheism, Einstein expressed a belief in "Spinoza's God who reveals himself in the harmony of what exists." This actually motivated his interest in science, as he once remarked to a young physicist: "I want to know how God created this world, I am not interested in this or that phenomenon, in the spectrum of this or that element. I want to know His thoughts, the rest are details."
