Loads of Muslims will claim it is a weak or fabricated hadith and thus ... untrue .... even though it is narrated by 2 of the most respected ahadith collectors.

Others will claim that it has not been proven that it does not do what Mohammed claimed i.e. that it has health benefits

Here is the ahadith source: sahih Al-Bukhari - 2855 + sahih Muslim - 1671

I could be wrong, but I think that camels recycle water better than humans. If this is the case, their urine would be more toxic than humans' urine. If you were dehydrated in the desert and drank it, you would die.

Islam

In Islam drinking urine is forbidden and is considered "khamr" and is punishable as in the same as if "exposed to the penalty of apostasy" due to its toxicity, with the willing drinker not being considered Muslim anymore.[16] Sunni Islamic commentators find urine to be something that is "filth in an extreme degree".[16] However scholars such as Abū Ḥanīfa have said that "it's disliked" ("makruh" or "almost" haraam).[16] In two of the Hadith's written by Sahih Bukhari it states several times that the Prophet Muhammad told his followers to drink camel urine and milk for the purposes of "recovery" to use "medicinally".[17][18] However the authenticity of these verses is disputed by many scholars, with the International Institute of Islamic Thought, a representative body of scholars, commenting that the prophet recommended drinking camel milk only with the consumers drinking camel milk along with urine which was later placed in the hadiths as some of Muhammad's sayings (which were compiled years after his death) as "throughout the history of the Companions there is no reference to the uses of camel urine for theraputic purposes".[19][20] Abu Yusuf has said that "urine from camels can be consumed for medicinal purposes".[16] However drinking camel urine is generally overall considered forbidden to consume in Islam as it is an intoxicant.[20][16]

Some muslims still drink camel urine as medicine.

TAIF:

People are ebing asked to turn to drinking camel urnie in many cities by Saudi Mollahs. Drive around any city and you find camels with shepherds and some drinking urine utensils waiting ready for camel Urine thirsty customers.

“I take the camels out every morning to the desert so the camels eat from thorn trees, available in the Taif area. They eat from the desert, so the urine of the camels will be better. After that I come back to the farm and wait for the customers,” Bila, a Sudanese camel herder told The Saudi Gazette

“The urine is good for the bones, it makes them strong, also it is good for the liver, sexual libido and many other health benefits,” he said.

Turky Al-Otaibi, a businessman in Taif, swears by it, saying: “I drink camel urine everyday because I have six wives. It helps me a lot to please them. I have no need of medications for erectile dysfunction, camel urine does the job.” ” Prophet had advised abu Baker to drink camel Urine for better sexual performance” he said further.

Urine from a she-camel, however, is tricky.

“Approach the animal from the right leg. Bend your left leg and place a pot on it or anything else you can use to get the urine,” he advised.

Ayed Al-Harthi an employee at a hospital said, “I suffer from high-blood cholesterol because of bad eating habits like eating Kabsah every night. I tried many medications, but unfortunately they are only good for short periods of time.”

“Somebody advised me to try to drink camel urine every night. Then I did a blood test the result was nice, my cholesterol dropped to the normal level. I told the physician about that, he said he did do not have scientific studies on that,” he added.

Khaled, a student at a Jeddah teacher’s college said, “When I come to Taif, I go to the camel farms to drink urine immediately. I just say ‘In name of Allah’ and I drink urine.”

“Nothing has happened to me at all so far. I have no fears of getting brucellosis,” he said

Ibrahim Al-Halawani’s father had liver cirrhosis.

“My father had liver cirrhosis and there is no treatment for this kind of disease with the modern medicine, so somebody advised me to give my father urine of the camel, they said it was a medicine used by the Prophet (pbuh). I started giving him, but my father’s condition was too far gone and, as a result he died,” Halwani said.

Emad Al-Sayed, Oncology and Radiotherapy consultant, said he could not confirm or deny that camel’s urine had any medicinal prupose.

“I do not have any evidence or studies that prove that camel urine treats cancer or liver cirrhosis or erectile dysfunction as known to common people,” he said.

“The she camel’s urine soothes the liver and the effects of a spoiled constitution,” said Al-Razi, an Islamic scientist.

In the book, the centuries-dead Islamic scientist in his book Al-Qanoon, writes “Camel’s urine is an effective cure for the AIDs, and the best remedy for dropsy and other ailments.”
