I think because it is made of a compass and a square that it symbolizes measurement and movement. The G in the middle is probably Gnosis (knowledge) and sometimes the G is replaced by an eye which could symbolize awareness... Gnosis and awareness go hand in hand so the eye and the G probably symbolize the same thing. The compass and square encircle the eye or G... this to mean symbolizes awareness through measurement and movement. Everything we do is movement and everything we perceive is measurement. What do you think the square and compass symbolize?

It symbolises their deep belief in artificial architecture to the Extreme point of believing God is Architect and makes square buildings ignoring Nature and Nature's God who uses round shapes organically like plants grow and Gaudi, art nouveau, et Cetera. The natural equivalent would be Nutshell and Vine.

The "G" is supposed to represent God but Masonry is a cult. Keep well clear of it because it's rooted in darkness, it is Luciferic and phallic. The members unknowingly worship Lucifer - the Devil. The members are raised through the chairs and have to swear oaths upon their own heads which God forbids and also are moved up in degrees through the chairs, not being told anything about the next degree until it's too late and they are IN IT already.

That means it's a closed society.

God is the opposite. Everything is open in God's kingdom and we know exactly what we are getting into before we do so.
