Because India, alliance-wise, is a lot more important than any Christian country. India has the military weaponry and the nukes necessary to keep Iran, China, and Russia all in check should they have any ideas.

Technology also has a lot to do with it as well, but I see this more as the world's two largest free countries looking to join forces in the War on Terror.

Sidenote: If Israel were smart, it would ally with India too.

The United States is not a Christian nation. I knew that before Obama said it. Our president gives the impression of not caring about nations who profess to be Christian (like Canada and the UK). I'm surprised it wasn't Norway, Mexico or Venezuela.

I think India is one of the most important countries of the world. It is a very important network-partner for the US because in India there are a lot of people that will demonstrate a lot of high developed part of the industrie. Actually the IT-part is very important. Overthise that could be a sign for the "new way". The president make it possible to set up a better network, that fights for global freedom and a global network.

Maybe because India will have the largest population in the world by 2020.

They out number us 4 to 1 already. China and India are the most populous nations in the world.

Actually, the US is NOT a christian nation. A lot of Americans make that mistake, woefully ignorant of their own heritage. You are lucky enough to have a secular constitution, guaranteeing separation of church and state, and therefore freedom of, and from, religion. (Unlike the UK, which has an established church).

Thomas Jefferson, in a letter countersigned by Washington, made it clear that 'America is by no means a Christian nation' (Quote!)

THE REASON: INDIA IS A RISING ECONOMIC POWER EN OBAMA WANTS INDIA ON THE AMERICAN SIDE TO FIGHT TERRORISM IN ASIAN REGION EN OTHER PROBLEMS AS IT IS THE ONLY RELIABLE DEMOCRACY IN THE REGION.

TO "FELLOW CHRISTIAN NATION": DID YOU KNOW THAT THE HISTORY OF CHRISTIANITY IN INDIA IS MUCH OLDER THAT IN EUROPE?

EN THE WAY MUCH OLDER THAN IN USA OR CANADA AND NATURALLY UK!

America has no official state religion. It's constitution, however, does guarantee freedom of religion. It's not a "Christian nation".

I did not know he made this decision

I don't think it matters either

as Christians we are called to share Jesus with those who are in need of Him

Also, The people of England no longer represent a Christian nation.

America is on its way.

Nor does Obama represent a Christian president.

Jesus spent more time with the sinners more than the pharises (far to see). God has sent us to the world not to the christains.
