Question:
ATTN: Atheists...a few questions...?

I dont do evolution..."something exploded form nothing and then we formed from rocks..." Personally, it sounds kind of silly to me...

But why does Christianity offend you so much? And why do you feel like you have to back everything up with a logical explanation?

You lot of people seem to know what the Bible says better than any group of Christians I have ever met...but you don't understand what it's saying, and you probably never will because you MUST have logic and reason to back it up.

It's hard for me to see someone who doesn't believe in God because I have been Christian my whole life...there have been times in the past when I have questioned god and if he really is there and asked myself the same questions that you all ask, but God always puts me back in check. Like I've said, I've seen too many miracles and many people healed before my very eyes.

I'll give you an example and you may not believe it but I knew this man personally. He is a member of my church, he had a problem with his hand where he lost all feeling, he could not move it, feel it, anything...from about his mid-forearm and down...he had been like this for quite some time. The doctors had tried so much and there was just no hope for him...he went to god in the alter and prayed one sunday (had to be about a year ago this happened) and he got up, picked up the mic with his bad hand, and gave his testimony. Everyone knew that his hand was like that, yet his hand was healed right there...

Another example...a few months ago at another church I had been attending with some friends of mine, this girl had hurt her back in an ice skating incident maybe 6 months earlier. It totally screwed up her spine, as it was not straight at all and she could barely move. She had seen a few doctors that said surgery would have to be performed for her to ever be normal again, and so the pastor got over, prayed for her, and a few minutes later you could watch her back just straighten up. She was standing up straight, she got on the stage, jumped off and ran around the church one good time without feeling any pain. This girl was about 10 years old...how do you explain these things?

Ignorance offends me as well as points out problems in the education system. Your ignorance in your opening statement places your judgment of it being silly in the same category as "If Santa isn't real, who eats my cookies".

Faith healings have been around for a long time and they are rarely either actual healings or good diagnoses. Then too the placebo effect is sometimes effective in causing the body to heal it self.

There are many religions that have similar "miracles", but all have failed to regrow arms or to provide empirical data.

What kinds of tests do the dam/stud have to have? Well, first they need to get tested in whatever diseases the specific breed is most susceptible to, such von willebrand disease or heart problems. No matter how responsible the breeder is though, there still always a chance of getting a bad puppy it just decreases. How many litters would a reputable breeder let the dam have a year? No more than once a year, and some breeders only breed their dog maybe three or four times. What makes a reputable breeder? They usually have a contract for each dog, so they can make sure you spay/neuter it or the puppy gets sick. How many puppies do large/medium/small dogs have in one litter? Between 6 to 10 puppies, but smaller dogs usually have fewer. What questions do you ask a breeder before you buy a puppy? Haha, I ask the questions you just asked above. And also recomendation on what vet to use if they live nearby. I also always want to see the dam and the dog, if available. Also I want him to give me contacts to other people who bought previous dog from them. How many dogs do breeders usually have that are eligible to breed? Some breeders keep a breeding contract so they can have more variety by having other people keep the dams and bring them in to breed. It really varies though from breeder to breeder What conditions are reputable breeders dogs kept in? Some are kept in clean kennels, most show breeders do this. Or kept in the house if they only have two or three dogs. I hope I helped.

[sigh]....

Why do the same people ask the same set of questions and then take away nothing from the answers provided, instead asserting more circular logic? Religion doesn't offend me, just ignorant and uneducated people like yourself.

Your anecdotal evidence of miracle healing is no more proof then the bible itself. My entire family aside from myself in incredibly religious, but that did not change god's mind about allowing my sister to die after they prayed for weeks in the ICU. And do you want to know why? Because she was seriously injured, she did not have an ailment that tends to go into remission. As for your other stories of healing..... I would like to see some evidence.

Anyone else find it wanting that so many members of this particular women's church keep getting magically healed?

"something exploded form nothing and then we formed from rocks..." Personally, it sounds kind of silly to me...

that's not evolution *sigh*

Christianity doesn't offend me Christians do

Is logical explanation a bad thing?

if it is well i guess that's just how i roll

you say God is putting you back in check but maybe it could possibly be family members and church telling you that God is real i highly doubt it's God sweetheart

sometimes people need to believe in a God that's cool just don't you know attack my beliefs or morals just because i'm different

Evolution theory says nothing about where life came from. Why don't you at least read up on a subject before posting such a question borne out of ignorance.

When amputees pray to god, why does he NEVER regrow their lost limbs ?

All of the hundreds of gods that have suposedly existed over time are imaginary.

Partly, stuff like this:

http://www.sltrib.com/news/ci_12228215

and I could go on about how some Christians step on the rights of others, or try to get religion taught in science class.

Or the fact that some people who are religious aren't even aware that they use it as a way to remain ignorant, or VERY hateful, or racist/biased.

Or that people think they can lie, cheat, or, in extreme cases, kill as long as they 'do god's will'

1)..."something exploded from nothing and then we formed from rocks..."

Well it should sound silly, because nobody believes that. That isn't how it happened and that has nothing to do with evolution.

2) "but you don't understand what it (the Bible) is saying, and you probably never will because you MUST have logic and reason to back it up."

Now that is just the silliest statement that I have ever read. I can't even read the rest.

Why does education offend you so much. When you can understand science and evolution as well as I understand your storybook (aka the Bible) then we can talk.

The rest of your questions are malarkey. Honey, the expression "a sucker is born every minute" was written for people like you.

1. You obviously don't understand evolution.

2. I'd prefer if you kept your religion out of schools and government. That's all.

3. I usually don't bother with anecdotal evidence.

Seriously, get your facts straight beforehand. The big bang and evolution have nothing whatsoever in common. It just makes us look bad

If you're going to deny evolution, at least know what it is you're denying

I stopped reading after the first sentence.

It's obvious you know absolutely nothing about evolution.

That has nothing to do with evolution, I won't bother reading the rest of it.

why does Christianity offend you so much?

mainly because christians think they have the right to legislate their religious beliefs into secular laws and schools.....
2009-04-27 20:13:46 UTC
Really? With that picture?
2009-04-27 20:04:32 UTC
Easy question,you're an idiot.

Evolution has been refuted to the bone.

Evolutionists admit that their is a great flaw in evolution.
