Question:
Why is God going to let Satan out of hell after 1000 years to test the people on earth?

Is it to bless Satan or to make his punishment a little less or just because all the people have to be tested who were not saved already or were?

Revelation 20:7-10 (New Living Translation)

The Defeat of Satan
7 When the thousand years come to an end, Satan will be let out of his prison. 8 He will go out to deceive the nations—called Gog and Magog—in every corner of the earth. He will gather them together for battle—a mighty army, as numberless as sand along the seashore. 9 And I saw them as they went up on the broad plain of the earth and surrounded God’s people and the beloved city. But fire from heaven came down on the attacking armies and consumed them.
10 Then the devil, who had deceived them, was thrown into the fiery lake of burning sulfur, joining the beast and the false prophet. There they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

It is because that generation will need to be tested like the others were.

The Bible has a lot to say about the end times. Nearly every book of the Bible contains prophecy regarding the end times. Taking all of these prophecies and organizing them can be difficult. Following is a very brief summary of what the Bible declares will happen in the end times.

Christ will remove all born-again believers from the earth in an event known as the rapture (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Corinthians 15:51-54). At the judgment seat of Christ, these believers will be rewarded for good works and faithful service during their time on earth or will lose rewards, but not eternal life, for lack of service and obedience (1 Corinthians 3:11-15; 2 Corinthians 5:10).

The Antichrist (the beast) will come into power and will sign a covenant with Israel for seven years (Daniel 9:27). This seven-year period of time is known as the “tribulation.” During the tribulation, there will be terrible wars, famines, plagues, and natural disasters. God will be pouring out His wrath against sin, evil, and wickedness. The tribulation will include the appearance of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse, and the seven seal, trumpet, and bowl judgments.

About halfway through the seven years, the Antichrist will break the peace covenant with Israel and make war against it. The Antichrist will commit “the abomination of desolation” and set up an image of himself to be worshipped in the Jerusalem temple (Daniel 9:27; 2 Thessalonians 2:3-10), which will have been rebuilt. The second half of the tribulation is known as “the great tribulation” (Revelation 7:14) and “the time of Jacob’s trouble” (Jeremiah 30:7).

At the end of the seven-year tribulation, the Antichrist will launch a final attack on Jerusalem, culminating in the battle of Armageddon. Jesus Christ will return, destroy the Antichrist and his armies, and cast them into the lake of fire (Revelation 19:11-21). Christ will then bind Satan in the Abyss for 1000 years and He will rule His earthly kingdom for this thousand-year period (Revelation 20:1-6).

At the end of the thousand years, Satan will be released, defeated again, and then cast into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:7-10) for eternity. Christ then judges all unbelievers (Revelation 20:10-15) at the great white throne judgment, casting them all into the lake of fire. Christ will then usher in a new heaven and new earth and the New Jerusalem—the eternal dwelling place of believers. There will be no more sin, sorrow, or death (Revelation 21–22).

After we are resurrected into new, clean, sinless bodies, which by manys comments here proves sin to exsist....... we will have pure hearts, where being bad will be difficult, and being good will come easy. When satan then tries to tempt us in our perfect state, we will decide for ourselves wheather we want to serve God or not. Right now sin makes being bad come easier than being good.Romans 7:21-24. So dont worry. When the 1,000 years are up, it wont be as difficult to turn away from satan's schemes as it is now! We will be Eve for a day.....but make the right choice this time:)

Really good question. If you are to understand the answer you must be able to accept a couple of things. First, that very much like the period before the flood, mankind is presently corrupt and ignoring Gods commands and is failing to worship only Him.

Second, that the end of this system of things is very close. Much closer than one may think. Matthew 24:1-14 and 2Timothy 3:1-5 show that the present is that period before the second coming of Jesus as God's weapon of destruction against the evil that is in the world.

The end of that destruction, better known as Armageddon, culminates in the imprisonment of Satan and all his demons in the Pit. During the 1000 year reign of Jesus as King "of the new heavens and new earth" the planet Earth will be returned to a paradise, in fulfillment of his promise to the thief that wes put to death with him. (I will be with you in Paradise) During that time all those who have fallen asleep in death will be resurrected to this Paradise earth and will learn of the real meaning of life under a loving God, or by their actions, be "judged" and put to death instantly. Their Choice!!!

At the end of the 1000 years, just like all metals, those that survive to the end of the 1000 years will indeed be tested by the loosing of Satan and his demons to put before them the tests of faith in the things they learned during the 1000 years. As the scripture shows, MANY will fail that test and be destroyed. Why? Even in perfection, we will have free will, to choose sides should we say, even knowing that to choose to side with Satan will result in absolute cessation of existence.

And at the end of that final Battle Satan and his demons will be "thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur" this means the end of existence fo Satan and his demons never to taunt and test mankind again.

After that the "NEW" scrolls will be opened and mankind will be set to new tasks and have life everlasting.

Hope that answers your question.

Revelation has never been understood literally. It's a form of ancient Hebrew poetry loaded with symbolism and imagery to by-pass the authorities and give hope to those oppressed. One has to have a Phd in ancient near eastern language to interpret it properly. St. John wrote it for his time, not ours. The book was added to Biblical canon late in the game as a terrific ending to the Bible. We aren't supposed to build our theology around this book. It's only recently that the Bible has been understood as a literal narrative by American revivalists or fundamentalists.

Matthew 4:1

"Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil."

For the same reason Jesus was tempted. Faith is not true faith until it is tested. Anyone can love and trust God when things are going great.

It is to show that even after a thousand years of just rule by the Messiah, people who desire evil will go after it. It is to give these people the choice to choose what they will. They choose evil in full knowledge of the good and in full knowledge of what they are doing. It is to show that God is just and that men are indeed free to choose Him or not.

Isn't the New Testament ridiculous? What is the purpose of defeating evil and that after 1000 years releasing it. Christians do not believe in a eternal kingdom of righteousness.

If God could control Satan, he would have gotten rid of him a long time ago.

Sorry but it's just not going to happen.

Its a story and God and Satan are fictitious characters of a cult called Christianity.

God uses Satan to sift out the people who are loyal to God and cause them to follow after Satan so his judgements are clear.
