Question:
What does the term "holy roller" mean to you?

John Lennon sang about it in the song "Come Together." I hadn't experienced too many Holy Rollers living in Boston most of my life. I did come into contact with more of them when I went to visit family in Oklahoma. Evangelicals were on several TV and radio stations. I can remember one radio broadcast my dad and I were listening to and the host of the show said "if I am lying to you listeners tonight, may the Good Lord remove my broadcast from the airwaves immediately." Just after the preacher said that, we lost the signal. In another instance, my dad showed my an advertisement in an Oklahoma City newspaper entitled "You are going to Hell!" and it listed reasons why you were on the highway to hell. The only chance of redemption was to send your check or credit card charge information to a PO Box in Oklahoma City. In another instance, my dad and I were driving through Armarillo, Texas on a detour road due to highway construction and ran into a Fire and Brimstone Evangelical meeting going on in town. I thought it was the Klan because guys were wearing the white robes and hoods with the masks and carrying torches. My dad said "no this is a Revival Meeting, Fire and Brimstone." Miracles were being performed. Shouting. Guys and gals at the microphones shouting Jesus Saves!

What in the world? Those people call themselves CHRISTIANS! God does not want us to lie, especially when we say we are doing his work. Becoming crazy liars is what drives the people away and think of us Christians as religous nuts! Money? Lies? They speak blasphemy! My mother and father is what you call a "holy roller". We are a spiritual family but we do not lie, we speak the Word and not Satan's word. Reading that made me disgusted! They will perish into the dark for saying that they are for God but their mind is on Satan. Sad, sad thing read...

ANYWAYS!!!!! I think the term "holy roller" doesn't mean a Christian, but someone on the spiritual side or religous side. Just because someone is religous, doesn't mean they are Christian or even believe in God! John reffered to George Harrison as a holy roller because George had a spiritaul side. So that is what it means to me.

When you write a text, you must make sure it is legible.

You can do so by using a structure known as PARAGRAPH. It helps organizing the subjects and also has an aesthetic value, making the reading more pleasant.

Follow these tips and more people will read you.

It's a slang term for a religious zealot. I first heard it when I was in 2nd grade. I was so happy when I found out there was actually a NAME for those types of people.
