Do Muslims believe that Christians go to Hell?

i'm a Christian. Do Muslims believe that Christians go to Hell? I have nothing against Islam. i mean, don't we worship the same God? can't both Christians & Muslims go to Heaven? Muslims, u must know that America is "NOT" a Christian Nation. what u see on T.V. & movies is all from non-believers. they're called Lukewarm Christians. can't be trusted. i think Christians, Muslims, & Atheists go to Heaven. but that's just me. lol. so do Muslims think Christians go to Hell?

actually, I believe that Muslims and Christians both believe in the same God

it's just that Muslims only see Jesus as a prophet and not a messiah

and they believe Mohammad was a prophet, whereas Christians don't

everyone doesnot believe in only one God.Islam doesnot talk about believing in God generally



when islam mentions about disbelievers it uses the word mushrik.the one who associate partners to Allah and this is the main issue Quran deals with.



when muslims say la ilahe illallah .there is no other God but Allah.,we first reject other gods and then accept Allah as only God.Quran mentions about taguts which are false deities associated with Allah.this can be money (from hadith) or desire (from verse) or people (law makers);

monotheism is something most of the humans dont like because you must totally submit yourself to God in every aspect of your life.your worship,your callings your life your death should be only for Allah.So even some so called muslims can not satisfy the conditions of monotheism.





4:48. Surely Allah does not forgive that anything should be associated with Him, and forgives what is besides that to whomsoever He pleases; and whoever associates anything with Allah, he devises indeed a great sin.

A small preview to show what the quran says about Christians:



Christians are blasphemers (5:17, 5:73) who have invented a lie about Allah (10:68-69). Inventing a lie about Allah is the worst of sins (7:37, 29:68) and for this reason Christians are condemned to Hell (10:70). Although one (early Medinan) verse seems to say that righteous Christians will go to heaven, this is abrogated by later verses that make it very clear that Christians must cease being Christian (ie. reject the Trinity) or suffer eternal torment for their beliefs (5:72-73).



Jews are also cursed by Allah (5:13), in one of his final pronouncements. The Qur’an goes on to assure Muslims that Jews are wicked (4:160-162) – so wicked, in fact, that they have somehow managed to do the impossible (18:27) and alter the word of Allah (2:75). Jews are “fond of lies” and “devour the forbidden” (5:42).



The Qur’an assures believers that Jews and Christians have “diseased hearts” (5:52). Allah even takes credit for the enmity between them (5:14). Only Jews and Christians who submit to Islamic subjugation and pay the Jizya are protected in this world (9:29 & Ibn Ishaq 956).



Qur'an (5:51) - "O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people."



Qur'an (5:80) - "You will see many of them befriending those who disbelieve; certainly evil is that which their souls have sent before for them, that Allah became displeased with them and in chastisement shall they abide." Those Muslims who befriend unbelievers will abide in hell.



Qur'an (3:28) - "Let not the believers Take for friends or helpers Unbelievers rather than believers: if any do that, in nothing will there be help from Allah..."



Qur'an (3:118) - "O you who believe! do not take for intimate friends from among others than your own people, they do not fall short of inflicting loss upon you; they love what distresses you; vehement hatred has already appeared from out of their mouths, and what their breasts conceal is greater still; indeed, We have made the communications clear to you, if you will understand." This verse not only warns Muslims not to take non-Muslims as friends, but it establishes the deep-seated paranoia that the rest of the world is out to get them.



Qur'an (9:23) - "O ye who believe! Choose not your fathers nor your brethren for friends if they take pleasure in disbelief rather than faith. Whoso of you taketh them for friends, such are wrong-doers" Even family members are not to be taken as friends if they do not accept Islam. (This is the mildest interpretation of this verse from the 9th Sura, which also advocates "slaying the unbeliever wherever ye find them").



Qur'an (1:5-7) - "Show us the straight path, The path of those whom Thou hast favoured; Not the (path) of those who earn Thine anger nor of those who go astray" This is a prayer that Muslims are supposed to repeat each day. "Those who earn Thine anger" specifically refers to Jews and "those who go astray" refers to Christians (see Bukhari (12:749)).

mmm.. alright.. i'll share some information about us..



we muslims are actually two sectors..



one sector (sunni) believes that every soul is subjected to judgment.. however.. after the Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) was sent.. every non-muslim would be going to hell.. unless they have "atleast" verbally stated their islam before they die.. (i.e. state that they believe in one God and that Mohammad p.b.u.h was His messenger)..

and one of the sunni sectors (the salafi/wahhabis) actually believe that sunni rulers whether good or injustice should be assumed to go to heaven because they might have asked God for forgiveness at some stage of their lives or before they die.. (e.g. saddam..etc)



while the Shia muslims believe that every soul is subjected to judgment.. whether muslim or non-muslim.. and dying as a non-muslim is not an absolute matter that would put one in hell..

infact.. some people might have not even heard about islam.. and some might have not known what islam is about.. God judges those people according to their deeds and intentions..



while as for whoever had committed injustice and oppression.. shall not be forgiven..

this is the "unforgivable sin" in the shia belief.. because as a punishment.. that person would be expelled from the forgiveness of God.. (in other words.. a confirmed ticket to HELL)

regardless of their being muslim or non-muslim..



so .. did u get what i mean ? :)

the oppressors are the only persons we are certain of their belonging to hell..

and those who knew about the beliefs and principles of islam.. and yet refused to accept it..

and these people we cannot tell them that they belong to hell.. for we do not know what's in their hearts and intentions, they might be submissive to God at their hearts.. but we wouldnt know.. would we? :)

while the injustice, oppressors...etc we can tell straight that they belong to hell.. because they'd committed an unforgivable sin :)

yes according to islam christians are going to hell for rejecting the messenger (muhammed) and his laws

and they are not the same god, how can you call yourself christian and say they are ?

both religions have their idea of god based on their respective revelations, both contradict each other so how can they be the same god unless god is very confused, i thought the bible said he is not the author of confusion !

In Quran God says, Christians and Jews also will enter heaven.



"Those who believe (in the Quran) and those who follow the Jewish(scriptures) and the christians and the Sabians, any who believe in God and the last Day, and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord; ON THEM SHALL BE NO FEAR, NOR SHALL THEY GRIEVE" [Quran 2:62]



"If only the people of the book(i.e Jews and Christians) ha faith, it were best for them: among them are some who have truth Faith, but Most of them are perverted transgressors." [Quran, 3:110]

This means obviouly they also have many good people.

"And They say, none shall enter Paradise Unless he be a Jew or Christian' Those are their (vain) desires. Say: Produce your proof if ye are truthful" [Quran, 2:111]



"Where ye witnesses when death appeared before Jacob? Behold, Jacob said to his sons: "What will ye worship after me?" They said: "We shall worship thy God and the God of thy fathers, of Abraham, Ishmael and Issac, - the one True God. To Him we bow in submission." [Quran, 2:133]



"That was a people that hath passed away. They shall reap the fruit of what they did, and ye of what ye do! Of their merits there is no question in your case!" [Quran, 2:134]



"They say: "Become Jews or Christians if ye would be guided to Salvation." Say thou: "Nay! I would rather the Religion of Abraham the True, and he joined not gods with Allah." [Quran, 2:135]



Say: "we(i.e Muslims) belive in Allah, and in what been revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham, Ismael, Issac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and in given the moses, Jesus, and all prophets, from their Lord: we(i.e Muslims) make no distinction between one and another among them, and to Allah do we(i.e Muslims) bow our will" [Quran, 2:136]



"So if they believe as ye believe, they are indeed on the right path: but if they turn back, it is they who are in schism; but Allah will suffice thee as against of them, and He is All-Hearing, the All-knowing." [Quran, 2:137]
