As we look around in the world today, it looks as though that the enemies of Christianity have won, but this is only an appearance.

It was an appearance that everything was over when Our Lord died upon the cross ... Christ conquered death and redeemed man.

It was an appearance that Christianity was being stamped out during the Roman persecutions in the early Church ... the Roman Empire converted to Christianity.

It was an appearance that darkness and ignorance overcame the world when the Roman Empire fell ... Christianity rebuilt civilization and gave the Western world the sciences, the university system, reason, morality, charity, concept of rights and law, and much more.

The more I think about today's time that Christians live in, the more I begin to realize that the Church is reverting back to how the way things were when man misunderstood the Christians in the early Church. Though as history tells us, the Roman persecutions in the early Church came to an end and the Roman Empire converted to Christianity. Therefore I believe that man will witness another era of Christendom.

Christians should be prepared for misunderstandings from modern man, even if the misunderstandings lead to persecution or martyrdom.

Yes, without a doubt. It was prophesied to be so.

I think a part of it is like them, but no where near to ability to exact control over the main Western populations as they were before.

It's not the enemies of the Christian church that I'm looking at. Not as people see them anyway. It's the Christians themselves, with legalistic tendencies that they try to exact on the populations whether the populations are Christian or not. They think like Pharisees, and are antichrist in that way. They are absolutely hurt over the recent same sex marriage SCOTUS ruling. they actually are so vain that they think this is persecution, when it's Christ's message they have been corrupting for CENTURIES!

So now we are at a crossroads. We are finding out the legalistic churches are no longer able to dictate the way Americans live.

Would God allow those Christians who defy the Gospel with moralistic deviations to continue? I do not think so.

They have wanted that for centuries.

- it looks as though that the enemies of Christianity have won,

They have, facts, reality and intelligence have won.

- but this is only an appearance.

You are the ones who think the "appearance" of intelligent design means intelligent design.

- Christianity rebuilt civilization

They had to, they destroyed it first.

- the university system,

Well after Islam created them.

- reason, morality, charity,

Only your brain dead version, it was well established long before fundies ever appeared.

- Though as history tells us, the Roman persecutions in the early Church came to an end and the Roman Empire converted to Christianity.

Only your brain dead history, not real history.

- Therefore I believe that man will witness another era of Christendom.

You are trying, you want the crusade, the Inquisition and witches burning again.

- even if the misunderstandings lead to persecution or martyrdom.

We can always hope.

The Romans persecute Christians not because they believe in the Christ they were persecuted...cue to irony song... by laws against atheist..the early Christians refuse to worship other deities....

Your deep misunderstood of history tells us you need to read more and to understand that ...what you know and interpret as real is not the whole truth but dont worry we understand why you need to do that.

No, No true Christian would have put anyone to death.

Only when sinning against the holy spirit and not by the sword. Those things were bound in Heaven and on Earth.

Acts 5:1-11

and we can see God can remove anyone according to his will,

Acts:12 1-24

No, the original essence of Christianity has been lost to this world as now all we have are vain, ignorant, bigoted and bastardized versions of that which many claim that Jesus actually taught.

Christianity is slowly fading away. It's strongest in the older generations that are on their way out/ No need for persecution or martyrdom, Christianity will die a nice quiet death of old age.

It looks like it's going in that direction, but I hope it doesn't go too far. I don't exactly relish being thrown to the lions.
