I apolagize, I accidentally closed the speling thing and cannot get it to come back no matter what I do... so beware of spelling errors!

(please no "religion arguement wars" in your explanation)

I would like to become a Pastafarian, but would first like to clarify my understanding of it. please correct me if I am wrong.

Pastafarian is either:
- an alternative instead of saying your athiest
- is a "mock" religion
- other explanation that I am not understanding?

Belief:
- (in short this is what I got) a giant one eyed flying spahgetti monster that created a beer volcano and got drunk and while drunk or hungover created pirates as gods, since there has been declining/lack of pirates we have angered the spagetti monster and are being puinished with global warming?

Pastafarian:
- a mock religion athiests use to (I don't know how to put it) "make fun or joke" about religion..?

thanks in advance.

From the eternal sauce he rises, creating calamari on each shore, turning fork against spoon, until noodles exist no more.

We are the protectors my friend. The ones who know... The ones who watch. We do our somber duty, watching for the Antipasti.

... But seriously. The big deal about FSM is that we want the facts about his noodly hand taught in public schools. That is the important part. We believe (and this is for real here) that if you are going to teach ANY form of creationism in any public school, then we want his noodly teachings put in as well. It sounds nutty, IT SHOULD sound nutty, that's the point. Teaching it would be nutty, and the myth is purposely constructed to CONFORM to the bible. The church of the FSM started out as a protest movement. Read ye of the word:

Pastafarianism is not a religion, and it has nothing to do with atheism. It's a personal relationship with the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

Anyone who tells you otherwise is a diabolical agent of the Invisible Pink Unicorn!!

No, its an analogy or comparison of various THEISTIC religions, to highlight how unreasonable believers are by actually making them see their reasoning from outside its circular nature.

A mirror if you will.
