Are there any other Pagans or Wiccan on here that think Christo-Paganism/Wicca is complete bs?

It's silly if you consider that polytheistic paganism goes against the doctrines of Christianity.

I don't really make it a point to tend to what others believe, but I will say that Christianity and Wicca are definitely incompatible. Christo-Paganism, in my opinion, is not quite as unfathomable because in many ways Christianity is paganism. You could look at it as Christians who actually give credence to where their beliefs came from, but other than that it seems that it would be a little convoluted in both theory and practice. To study Christianity is to study the life of one man and his immediate followers, but to study paganism is, quite literally, to study cultures and religions that span thousands of years.

Christian Wicca is generally neither very Christian nor very Wiccan. It's as fine a religious path as any other, but I think its dishonest (toward themselves as well as others) for them to claim they are both Christian and Wiccan.

"Christo-paganism" is more complicated. While linguisitically it doesn't make a lot of sense (a Christian-non-Christian?), it is generally used to refer to people like Gnostics, people who believe in God and Jesus Christ but who have some different understandings about their nature than mainstream Christianity, and who often work with additional texts besides just the Bible. I don't find it dishonest of them to call themselves Christians, and "pagan" doesn't have defined beliefs, so its darn hard to accuse someone of not being a good one. ;)

it doesn't work for me, but somebody i strongly admired considered herself christo-pagan, and i trust her sincerity.

she didn't attempt to create a hybrid religion, she merely admired the teachings in the new testament. i guess for some, it's a comfort factor of not letting go of what was important to them in their youth. i don't think they can be called christian, but wicca certainly allows the practitioner to call upon whichever gods call to him. if jesus as the lord works for somebody, it's not harming me for him to evoke him into a circle. if i were in such a circle, i'd merely evoke cernunnos instead and go on about the working.

Well I think a lot of things are complete BS, but I really don't care what someone else believes as long as they aren't trying to force it down my throat.

Not so much BS, but I just don't understand it.

They are two completely different concepts, one is monotheism (only one god), the other Polytheism (lots of Gods). How can you incorporate both when the bible clearly states "no other gods"?

paganism preceded Christianity...to 'incorporate it' would make you christian. wicca is its own religion.
