I wouldn't ask you to believe something that I believe is untrue. Do you really believe O.J. is innocent?

What does it have to do with Christianity? If you could provide me with some evidence that O.J is innocent, then why shouldn't I believe it. As a matter of fact, there seems to have been enough evidence to that effect to convince a jury.

You seem to consider that Christians just wake up one day believing in Jesus, apart from any serious investigative work. This is a gross misrepresentation of the way most Christians came to Christ. We are not asking anyone to blindly believe what we tell them (and, in fact, I'd be quite wary of a church that'd ask that of me), but to examine the evidence.

"If you've seen the evidence and you can't make yourself believe, then how do you expect me to do the same thing in relation to believing God?"

Why should we decide what to believe on the basis of evidence? In an atheistic universe without God, why should we not choose to believe whatever pays us the most, or whatever brings us the most pleasure, etc.? Why be rational at all?

What evidence do you have that supports the belief that we should base our belifes on evidence?

This is an inherent weakness in atheism - a demand to follow certain rules of behavior, "reasoning," etc., without any justification or basis for imposing such restrictions.

Well, I am an atheist, I will say that OJ is innocent. He was found not guilty. I take the Constitution literally. He stood trial, and was rendered a not guilty verdict. So, according to those who aquitted him, he is innocent. That is what I have to go by.

I used to work for a state agency that frequented sending people to be drug tested. We would hear stories about these people always using drugs, yet, everytime they were tested, they were clean and not dilluted. I don't care what everyone says/thinks, the proof is in the testing. That is what we would have to go by. It's just the way it works in this country.

Beliefs are not subject to being chosen. Your question makes no sense.

[Late edit]

Because you said "seriously." So, I answered seriously. The question "seriously" makes no sense. It is like asking "With a compass and ruler alone, take a circle with a given area and produce a square with the same area."

The statement *looks* like it makes sense, but it does not.

But in terms of *your* beliefs, it depends on your commitment to rationality. And you might want to be very careful before committing yourself to reason.

Again,

I don't EXPECT you to believe in God, that is up to you and you alone.

If you ask, I will answer.

I will pray that you find the Joy and Peace and Happiness that I have, but I cannot EXPECT that you will.

It is there if you want it though.

Peace!

nope...because that's not truth, but what we do believe in is the trutht. Matter of fact, He is the way the truth and the life. So our God is truth, that's what we believe

The firs thing i would do is stop taking you seriously as soon as you ask such a question, seriously.
