The following even occured at my local Wal-mart and is a testament to my attitude toward pushy religious peeps

I was purchasing a few grocery items at my local Wal-mart last Sunday. I was dressed down pretty bad, because it was time for laundry, (laundry detergent was one of the items I had to purchase at that time.) The lady ringing me up asked me, "I hope you put on better clothes before going to church."

"I am actually about to go do some laundry, but I don't go to church."

"Why don't you?"

"I have my reasons..."

"How can you hope to get into Heaven?"

I was starting to get a little annoyed at this point, but having a non-christian faith, I was used to such questions.

"We will see when the time comes."

"I will pray that you and the souls of your family are shown the way of Jesus before you are cast down."

Now, I was full blown p issed!

"Sign me up for Hell! The devil may tempt in the bible, but God killed thousands. God is an evil douche and I hope he skull rapes you and your family for with a smile on his wicked face."

I left her standing there, jaw agap.

You're angry at God. So does that mean you believe in him?

Ha! i'm a Wal-Mart associate, and that i artwork in the backyard center. i myself savor it there, so i do no longer think of that's the place i could finally end up. The worst activity i've got performed in Wal-Mart must be answering the telephones on the installation room (the place the switchboard is located). That or cart pushing without motorized cart pusher. i'm able to think of of a few quite horrific places that could desire to be extra friendly to spend eternity than those 2 departments!

When I go through the check out at Walmart, the person ringing me up barely says hello to me. I didn't think that they were allowed to talk, (Joke). But, am sorry that person over stepped her job. Instead of getting mad next time and showing it to her, just go tell the manager of the store that you don't appreciate that the employees preaches at you. I would have reported her too. She doesn't know you to judge you about your clothes in the first place.

Boy! I am angry for you after reading this!

Many times I am stopped because it is obvious I am muslim. I get told at least once a week that Im going to hell, which surprises me because I am an ex christian and I know that you are not supposed to judge people. I usually tell them that "I will pray that Allah guide you to Islam and you abandon your wicked judgment of others." If Im not in the mood to answer the gauntlet of judgmental questions I will say "What I do on Sunday is none of your damn business." or "Are you God? I didnt think so, You have no place to judge me!"

Next time tell him/her "Its none of your damn business"

or "Lets have this discussion with your supervisor!"

That will shut her up!

How come you didn't complain to the management instead of saying something that will confirm her thinking how "horrid" non-believers are? Don't get me wrong, I am with you and understand your annoyance. I have been preached to in stores by zealous customers of ALL religions, standing in line where they think they have me captive---I just say, "move", and push my basket into another line. But I know you could not do that, so i would have complained to her boss, "Hey, you hired Carrie's mom on register 5" (the movie Carrie...)

Well, I'm christian, and I would have been ticked. I don't see a problem with saying Merry Christmas at christmas, but I don't condone what this woman did, it's just wrong. We were told to spread the word, it's done, I don't know anyone who hasn't heard. If someone doesn't believe, that's their choice, its called free will. What you believe or don't believe is none of the business of check-out people in stores or anyone else.

All she should have said was Hi, how are you, did you find every thing you were looking for today. Friendly chit-chat like that. The CSMs are their direct supervisors--that is who you could have reported it to. If she's said that to you, you're probably not the first one. If you didn't want to get her fired--you could have let them know to just talk to her. Its too late now, you have to do it at the moment you're there.

That's what you get for shopping at a right-wing store like Wal-Mart!

Next time, remind her of Exodus 35:2 and ask why she's working on Sunday, and if she thinks she should be put to death.

If you have your receipt, go to the store manager and report her!!!

You have a right to shop on Sunday in this country. And it is not appropriate for her to confront you or any other person in the manner she did at work.

She should be fired!!

BTW....... Religious PEEPS is a great phrase!!

It implies the brain of a person like that is made of Easter PEEPS!!!

Bravo. However, if that was me, Id have called her manager over and then filed a complaint for religious persecution by a store employee - then Id have sued their asses. You are there to shop - not be preached to. To be honest, thats what you get for shopping at that dump....Walmart is the scrouge of America - and just so you know, youre helping promote Christianity by shopping there, as the company is HIGHLY religion based and even censors what they sell...

Christ, save me from your followers....

If you didn't want to get her fired you should of told her that if you think that if she so much as squeeks a religiuos thought or comment to a customer you'd turn her into management.Otherwise by going off like that you make everybody else whose sick of hearing the christian b.s look like cold blooded idiots.

I was fifteen and riding the bus to meet with some friends downtown. Some guy actually asked me if I was going to his church. I tried to ignore him but he kept pestering me so I said no. He looked at a lady sitting near me and said, "Oh he'd really like it at my church, ma'am."

I told him, "She isn't my mother. And you need to mind your own business."

Why would you allow a total stranger to even approach you and make you defensive like that? She was out of line for what she did and sorry dude... you were too. Everybody doesn't think like you.... and to make such comments about our belief system was pretty shitty. Just because she upset you.. was no reason to say what you said. I'm here to tell you... if you don't believe in God... you better be right and you are going straight to hell for that remark. It was very offensive.

I don't have a similar story, but you always COULD report her to management...although you shouldn't be shopping at Wal-Mart to begin with! Bad, BAD Shane T!

I have similar people tell me things.

People are stupid so you probably did the right thing...just left her standing there.

Otherwise you would have been arguing all day and never got that laundy.

"Not to worry, dear, as soon as I get to church these clothes are comin' off, 'cos we worship in our Garden of Eden suits!"

That would be my response as I gather up my change and toddle off.

You're full of crap, nobody talks to the check out clerk for that long, especially at Wal-Mart. They give less a crap about you than you do for them.
