Question:
Breaking News!!--change in death penalty method in USA??

Georgia lawmaker Doug Teper (Democrat) proposed a bill to replace the state's electric chair with the guillotine. Teper's reasoning? It would allow for death-row inmates as organ donors, he says, since the "Blade makes a clean cut and leaves vital organs intact." Now the bill is passed yesterday!!!!

In 1995, a move to replace the electric chair with lethal injection (poisoning) failed in Georgia's assembly because legislators feared that prisoners could argue for a new sentencing hearing if the state changed the law.

The Guillotine, invented by the French Dr. Guillotine, was mainly used in the 18th and 19th century and chops off a person's head. It hasn't been used for decades in any country on this planet.

The Guillotine is cruel and inhuman, as is the electric chair. If anything, they would replace it with lethal injection, which there is a lot less suffering involved.

The guillotine is more humane than electric chair or lethal injection, so if you have to be barbaric and kill someone, at least it's a humane method.

I'm thinking using a sedative to put the person sentenced to death asleep prior to using the guillotine would be okay. I've always been in favor of some sort of death penalty.

This was 13 years ago. Just trying to stir up the hornets nest? Besides by the time most of these people are put to death, they are to old for their organs to be of any use. We need to speed up the process, so we can empty out death row, and save the lives of countless prison guards.

O.O I think the guillotine was last used in France in 1952.

Wow...And people think Texas is radical.

I've not quite got the stomach for watching someone being beheaded, I'm afraid.

Makes sense. It's quick, painless, allows for organ transplant and it's environmentally friendly. But, if this does pass some uppity liberals will loose their minds. I mean it, heads will roll.

the guillotine is a much more humane method of execution.

I, however, am against the death penalty, although some times it is difficult not to wish death to some particularly heinous criminal.

According to the revision, the method is used only at the request of the prisoner. The condemned have the option to be executed by electrocution, if they so desire.

How can they maintain organ health without blood pumping to the body? I don't know that seems cruel but, I don't know---I don't know if I would want a killers organ anyway

This lines up with the bible. Those who refuse to take the mark of the beast will have their head chopped off.
