No. And here's why (and I don't want what I have to say some out arrogant or judgmental or anything, I say this as sincerely has possible).
Let's go in order.
Yes, God created everything. Yay, we have that covered hahaha :)
God created Adam and Eve (which I hope you don't think were actually like... one man one woman.. they represent all human beings... everything during the biblical times was written in parables...) and yes, he created the Garden of Eden (which is a little bigger than the average garden.. again, parable)
Not let's move on to 'God creating sin'. What is sin? It's not a physical anything. Sin is nothing other that seperation from God (this is THE MOST IMPORTANT thing to understand before you read the rest of what I have to say). Lust, greed, pride, murder, lying, these are sinful acts. They are not sin, they are sinFUL because they seperate you from God. God did not create these things. People discovered them via Satan (who is the one who tempts people. Again, tempation is not a physical thing that God created, it's an act that Satan does) What is Satan? A fallen angel. What this means is that Satan is Evil, because he is FALLEN from God's grasp. Is Satan himself a parable? You decide because frankley, I'm not too sure myself I've never really thought it about :) Satan is filled with sin and is COMPLETELY seperated from God= he's Evil, and not good (God only created what he saw as good- see Genesis)
All things God created were good. They were good and connected with him, so they had no knowledge of the sinful things that would seperate themselves from him. Because the thing is that we were made by God and therefore were made FOR God. THis means we were not made for sin and to be any part of the sinful acts that would call us away from God. (by the way, being tempted is not a sin. Acting on the tempation is when a person sins. Everyone's tempted. Even Jesus was tempted and he was without sin throughout his life (meaning he had full connection with God because he had no seperation... which is why he is the son of God. No seperation means that God is so affluent in him that he is everything God is- he is in his image)). God gave man free will because he loves us. He did not want to have control over every single thought and desire that we had. So he told man not to eat from the Tree of Knowledge (which is not an apple tree for God's sake!! It's a parable for having the knowledge of sinful acts!!) But, sadly, curiousity kills the cat, so human learned what the acts were and therefore knew how to seperate themselves from God.
God did not know that they would fail, though it may seem he would, he did not...
1. Man was innocent, but God told them what not to do. He said, 'you will die', but they did it anyway so.... :(
2) Yes, he is God and he knows all, but I cannot say that God knows the future. What God does know is the outcome to every choice that man will make. But because of man's free will, God cannot say what will happen until man makes his choice. God knew what would happen if man learned of sin, but if man acted upon the temptation in front of him, that was not something God would know for sure. If God knew exactly every single little thing that was to be sure to happen, we would technically not have the free will we were in actuality blessed with....
Now lastly, we talk about repentence. This boils down to what God really wants with us. He's our Father. He is in LOVE with us, his children. The only thing God wants from us is to have a personal relationship with him and to love everyone. To restore ourselves to the relationship with him that we were made for. He made us, so we were made to be with him. He's not an angry, lightning-bearing, Lord of the Universe who demands us to kneel on rice and whip ourselves into getting his forgiveness. Heck no!!!! Repentence is giving ourselves over to him, over to Jesus as well, who is our King because he is able to lead us with the perfect example of what a relationship with God should really be, and giving up the things that seperate us from him.
That's it. He didn't set us up for failure. He made us for being with him, and that's something we've lost and are trying to gain through Jesus.
