What social events take place in synagogue? I've heard that some do speed dating and youth clubs. If you know of any specific event and what synagogue it's taking place at, could you please tell me. Thanks,

As Jews can pray anywhere and at anytime the synagogue isn't necessarily just for prayer. The hebrew for the synagogue is simply 'house of meeting' where the community comes together to serve God and follow a way of life. Many activities take place in synagogues. Nurseries, youth clubs, trips, lessons, plays, prayer services, weddings, brit milahs, bar/bat mitzvah, parties, celebrations, community meals etc.

It depends highly on the movement, location, size etc. For example, Orthodox shuls will never have a speed dating session and really i don't think any Synagogue should. The main events are mainly classes and programs for kids. In my older Synagogue i used to attend, they held women's classes Tuesdays and Thursdays and youth classes during the summer and on Sundays. I know a Conservative Synagogue that holds sisterhood events and they help out with the Sunday school there. A Reform Synagogue holds classes and discussions about topics throughout the year a few times a month.

Weddings, bar mitzvohs, prayers for week days and holidays and Shabbos Kiddush (meal after Shabbos morning prayers)
(Davening) usually sponsored by a congregant celebrating some good news such as a birth or wedding).
Hakafos (dancing with the Torah scrolls on Simchas Torah) classes and learning both formal with a teacher or lecturer and informal such as private study or chavrusas (two people learning with each other and discussing the text to make sure they each fully understand it).
Other events but these are some of the main ones.

SOME do speed dating, ..MOST have youth clubs and there are singles dances and meet and greets. Sometimes dinners for singles. Oh yes...sometimes there are services too. Friday nights and Saturday mornings.
I don't know of any events taking place even if I DID know your location.

You might have better luck finding those things at a Jewish Community Center in your area.
