Question:
Are JW's more knowledgeable about the Bible than Christians and the only defense Christians have is that Jehovah's Witnesses are brainwashed?
2017-01-08 20:51:14 UTC
Have you noticed the differences between the Jehovah's Witnesses answers and the Christians answers.? Jehovah's Witnesses provide a scripture or two to back up what they say.

Christians evaded the question at hand and blurted out what they heard from the pulpit.

Jehovah's witnesses actually study the Bible 6 hours per week at the meetings and preach on Saturday.

Other church's big no! The average other Christian if given a regular king James Bible and asked to locate 10 simple scriptures by giving them the text and no address can't find them .

The average Jehovah's witness can locate it in a minute .

So the answer is yes Jehovah's witnesses are indeed trained in Bible study far more than the average Christian and their training extends to any Bible not just a Jehovah's witness Bible.

Yes I have noticed as I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses and I look at the responses of all professed Christians. Intersting thing is that I was raised Catholic. I attended a prestigious Catholic school and yet knew NOTHING of the Bible - though we had religion class every day. I knew all about Catholic dogma but NOTHING about the Bible. Imagine my embarrassment when I studied the Bible with a JW much younger than I was ( I was 35) and she knew 100x more about the Bible than I did and I had a "christian" education and upbringing!!

JW's have the truth just as Jesus and the first century christians did. The great apostasy became full blown when the last of the apostles died and the dark ages kept Bible truth hidden for centuries. In the early 1900's Bible truth was again shining brightly and continues to get brighter.

They are brainwashed.

Proof.

In one city the elders rented a Kingdom Hall for the tenant to practice martial arts and worldly dances within it, things that are condemned by Jehovah's Witnesses religion.

A Jehovah's Witness, making sure of this, communicated the fact to Jehovah's elders and Jehovah's Witnesses, saying that this was a hypocrisy being practiced by Jehovah's Witnesses and that this was a stumbling block.

What was the result ? They became hatred for this Jehovah's Witness and disassociated her. Instead of congratulating her on her attitude, they resented her. Why ? Because they suffer BRAIN WASHING. They don't see the reason for things

Are JW's more knowledgeable about the Bible than Christians

- Yes, but less than atheists.

Jehovah's Witnesses provide a scripture or two to back up what they say.

- SO? Quoting a fantasy to prove a fantasy is meaningless.

How do you know all non-JWs who oppose JW doctrine are christians?

I'm a bible believing christian who has accepted the Lord Jesus Christ for my salvation.

How do I know ?

Because Gods word (bible) tells me.

(Rom 10:17) So then FAITH cometh ...by hearing the word of God.

And who is called the "word of truth" and the "Word of God" in the bible ?

Answer: Jesus Christ (Eph 1:12-13 & Rev 19:13)

So that means by believing Jesus died for my sins on the cross and rose from the dead 3 days later for my salvation I am trusting him as the word of truth (1Cor 15:1-4 & Eph 2:8-9)

btw- The "word of God" written (2Tim 3:16 & Heb 4:12) and Jesus as the "Word of God" (John 1:1) are CONNECTED

You know full well its the writings of the watchtower magazines that you consider to be inspired truth and you only use the NWT (which is not the bible) as a reference book to confirm what the mags say.

How many hours or even years have you and other JWs wasted going door to door witnessing for your watchtower thinking this will earn your salvation with God ?

Everlasting life is a FREE GIFT not of works but of grace through Christ only (Rom 4:4-5, 11:6, 6:23, Eph 2:8-9 & Tit 3:5)

There are some very knowledgeable bible students in various forms of Christianity. Most people that claim to be Christians only know the Bible from what they are told in their church, however, others actually study it to identify it's true menaing and value.

Jehovah's Witnesses "provide a Scripture or two" - from your evil NEW WORLD TRANSLATION and/or from cherry-picked, out-of-context passages, in order to support your pre-conceived, unbiblical theology. You spend hundreds of hours drilling JWs on canned responses to questions you're likely to be asked when knocking on doors, home "Bible studies," etc., but you're interested only in recruiting suckers, not in telling the Good News.

You said "Christians evaded...blurted out what they heard from the pulpit." Just substitute Jehovah's Witnesses for Christians, and elders for pulpit, and you'll have it.

It's the JWs translation of the bible that's the question.
2017-01-09 12:58:26 UTC
Most every answer you'll see is just a copy & paste those dimwits get from jw.org.

Hey Chuckles, let's be honest here: You're only looking for one of your JW cronies to pat you on the head and tell you how right you are.

JWs simply berate anyone who refuses to march along with the Hitler "Sieg Heil!" salute & parrot everything that organization tells them to believe, say, or think.

Pity, isn't it?

JW indoctrinated by the Kingdom hall preachers, JW literature, booklets and concentrated social engineering including peer pressure: program them. Then, so are Mormons, RC, Buddhists, Muslims and many others. JW are very Bible knowledgeable, that doesn't make them God's true church on earth however! A person can be very Bible knowledgeable and still preach and hold to errors. Much of their doctrinal infusion results in a church unable to acknowledge or remove errors from their "doctrines of men." They preach that Christ is a created angel, which is blasphemy, even ALTERING Scripture in the NWT to support this blasphemy! They've made a plethora of failed prophecies and refuse to acknowledge them! Their history includes many, many doctrinal backflips: usually denied, ignored or treated to JW sophistry and semantics which they excel at! JW errors are errors and MAJOR ones, being VERY good Bible students, I'm surprised they've not acknowledged and corrected them?! All literature, [pre 2000] records of doctrinal changes, prophecies etc is now UNAVAILABLE to the JW "FLOCK" this modus operandi is self evident as "damage control" in several other cults.

JW's do know their Bible, but, that is exactly the point: they know THEIR Bible, which is different from the one that Christians use. Subtly different to be sure, but, they make a lot of their doctrine on these subtle differences.

JWs are not more knowledgeable about the bible. They are more knowledgeable about what their WatchTower publication claims about the bible. The WT always comes first. The bible is just a supporting text used to "verify" the truth of the WT.

The bible is gods word, the religion of Christendom is based on mythology, and follows Constantine as it leader. It is one of the greatest deceptions in human history. Christians use the scriptures, followers of Constantine follow tradition.

Someones certainly brainwashed and evidently its you. JWs usually dont quote scripture. They quote their own perverted bible that is designed to subvert the truth. If you dont believe us read it and compare it with real translations. It doesnt even follow sentence structure.

The Jehovah's Witnesses I have encountered do not seem to know the whole Bible, they just know a selected set of 'proof texts'. They never engage in any actual discussion when presented with other Bible verses that are not so conformable with their doctrines.

For instance, the quote from Ecclesiastes about 'the dead know nothing' is a favoured JW proof text. But I have never had a Jehovah's Witness respond when I have pointed out that Moses was dead but clearly knew things when he talked with Jesus at his Transfiguration [Matt 17:3], or that the martyrs at God's altar in heaven were dead but clearly aware when they cried out to God for vengeance [Rev 6:9-11]

If you are a Jehovah's Witness, perhaps you could comment on how these verses fit with your doctrine?

you are giving an OPINION.

let me give you one FACT ... JW have their own bible version ... w all of christendom

know to be man-made. How does it help to study the rubbish in a man-made bible ? sigh

i am curious ... don't you know the CULTS in christendom ?

you are obviously unhappy about christians trying to show you the truth.

so be it ... to hell you go.

Another haughty JW trying to toot his own horn. Too bad you're in a filthy, pedophile riddled cult.

Jehovah's Witnesses not only mistranslated the Bible, they have rewritten it with their mistranslations. Satan is busy with that group.

Don't even mention the perverted NWT version. It is heretical even to read this badly watered down book.
2017-01-08 21:01:38 UTC
Uh, yeah! We have schools to study the Bible and how to preach the good news of the kingdom.
2017-01-08 20:52:40 UTC
Witnesses tend to be more knowledgeable because they study the bible. However, their bible is not accurate. I use to be one and I can tell you that they are not the one true religion.

They know their bible well, but a deceived version. You can know true believers by the Holy Spirit. Watchtower is Spiritually dead.

Let me share my bible study's experience.

After studying for 3 weeks, he called his catholic priest to ask him about the things he was studying.

My student said it was embarrassing. In three weeks of study he found he knew more about the bible than his priest.
