Question:
Do missionaries send people to hell?

According to Xtian doctrine, people who have never heard the word of God seem to get a free pass on judgment day.

So when missionaries expose natives to the Word of God to natives who then might reject it, aren't they responsible for sending otherwise saved people to Hell?

Thanks in advance.

funny you should ask this - i have often thought the same thing and it was, in fact, one of the major reasons i began questioning the faith in which i was raised.

my family is mostly fundamental christian, and several members are missionaries. they spend much of their lives in other countries "spreading god's word". and we ain't talking about metropolitan, developed and urban areas either where they would get laughed off the metro rail.

no, they head off into the jungles with their bibles and chocolate bars and trade jesus for comfort food and soda. i didn't get it either. the way i was brought up was in the belief that the only way you were "damned" to hell was if you "rejected" christ. this was how they explained that babies and such got to heaven. (too young to have done so, you see). so it followed that those tribespeople and bushfolk were in the same category. i couldn't fathom then, why my relatives would run off and risk these people's souls and give them an opportunity to reject something when they were fine before.

they never gave me a good answer either. it was always along the lines of "well, god has called me to do it" or "everyone needs to know the love of jesus and i can't be responsible for those who turn their backs on him".

talk about cold. and making no sense either. all that did was say to me "i have someone i want you to meet. he really, really loves you, but if you don't love him back he'll punish you forever in hell. here's a candy bar."

now you know why i'm an atheist.

Everyone will take delivery of an same possibility to be given or reject the gospel whether or not it's on this existence or the following. How that works, I dont understand, however it's going to need to be reasonable. The factor of missionary paintings is to permit individuals to extra their religious development right here on Earth, now. It isnt to sentence or now not condemn individuals. The reason of our lives is development and to come to be extra like our Heavenly Father. It isnt to be judged and condemned. When we be given special religious truths it permits us to spiritually development and take delivery of better truths and bigger skills. That is why missionary paintings is fundamental. To discover the individuals which might be equipped for the ones better truths and extra development to be considering the fact that possibility so they may be able to extra their development right here on Earth. I marvel what number of Christians relatively real do consider on this heaven or hell, consider or burn sort of afterlife. It form of contradicts the idea of a loving God to sentence such a lot of individuals to everlasting torment.

No, because the natives have their OWN beliefs. Not believing in something that the missionaries are preaching will not send anyone to hell. That's a lie.

No. The Bible claims that its "God" is omnipotent, therefore only the Christian "God" can be responsible for the damnation of humanity. He would have the final freewill choice regarding our fate; we would not.

Fortunately however, the Christian version of "God" is completely and logically disprovable, so I guess the question is moot. But it's a good question to try to get Christians to actually think for themselves for a change!

Missionaries do not send people to hell. Only God can make that decision, not man!

No. Man sends himself to that judgment, because he called God a liar, by refusing Christ.
