You have not defined what the 'things' are, that would halve the answer I am about to give, in fact make that thirds.....
You put a our Universal Creator 'God' and versus 'Him' to 'things'. Something Spiritual versus something Material....hmmm, this needs definition So the question would be one may worship a piece of silver, or a photo, or a crystal or then maybe a Statue, Monument, Rememberance Plaque, Church, Building.
Where I stand people do not worship 'things' they may have a great respect for them, God gave it to them, of course everything we have we should be very grateful and thankful for....we just have an emotional/material attachment to something, some more powerfully so than others, however, it is emotional attachment.
This can include people like Cult Leaders, Ministers, Priests, Fathers, Mothers anyone one really who is alive. Utimately this leads to painful revelations, but they are ones that ultimately guide us to our soul self, just because it may take one 5 minutes and one other 5 years, or still taking......lol.... does not mean people may worship a 'thing' to be 'A God' but that which is likened to 'their' God or helps them to connect to this Powerful Source of Energy, Gods Loving Embrace.
You either believe in God or you dont. Those that 'dont' still believe in their own spirit...they just choose to stay unaware of this, because they come from reading the Bible to the point of seeing God from that perspective of whomever is doing the preaching, messages can be perceived in the wrong light. This has led to much confusion and argument even between Christians themselves. People serve Wars as God Loving Christians...some worship the wars they fight as seeking the peace they so desperately seek..that is not serving Gods word of love. Nor does it support those Commandments. Those commandments are interesting in that I actually believe in them, I am not Christian, I am spiritualist, no denomination required.
However, their own spirit is connected to Whole Source too, other wise.....I say this alot...dust to dust...cant put a leaf back on a tree, but we can fix a limb. And a branch off a Tree is no different to our limbs.
Once life force is gone from us (death), we are back in the oneness of whatever we believed 'heaven to be' at the point of initiating ourselves into the after life realm, and there are many. That begs a question doesnt it...but this is 'answer' time for me lol. So we rejoin our 'God' to continue serving God through our Soul Spirit ....if 'we' so choose, we have freewill. Even more so in death.
If you are talking a statue or a wall or a monument or a church, it is not the material item they are worshipping but the symbolisim, what is actually represents to oneself within their soul self. They connect to God within on this level, and that is their divine truth.
For the most of us we have a religion, and seek that religion which is outside of ourselves to find the God within us all. We find our Lord Jesus whom says...follow me and I will show you the way.....then as a Healer/Carpenter he turns to us and says you too can do I have done.
My husband and I do....I am a Light Worker whom heals with Reiki, hands on healing, beautiful energy to heal oneself with. My husband is a builder, once houses, now Industrial. So see, you too, can do as he said you can do.
I work with Crystals. They emit healing energy. Like uranium, its a mineral that emits energy, in fact uranium blows countries right up and outa there. So when I use crystals, my intent is to heal of course not search and destroy...so I know I wont be blowing my clients up with healing energy. However, they may certainly get a powerful dose lol. An uranium has a positive use if in the right hands. Hmmmmm.......
I have been judged by many to worship the 'tools' I use. Without them I may not conduct my lifes work for helping others.
And the whole thing is, we all believe in a powerful loving source that is greater than ourselves, whether we call it God or not.
Perception of things vs God is personal to the perceiver. The worshipper has a lot more inside of them that they do no need to share with all...Gods relationship with each of us is personal and not for the Readers Digest unless in a structured judgementmal religious environment if that is what suits people. Then that is their truth....not mine.
My God is your Religious God that your are all God Fearing. I am God loving...and do not fear him, for I am part of the great Divine and so are you...thats my perception, my truth and I am only coming from ego to justify myself any more than this. I walk my path, live it. I do not see people whom proclaim to be Christian to do the same.
There are some beautiful people out there christian or not...they are beautiful and it is about time we stopped worrying what other people believe in, and just share beliefs and philosophies, no one is right no one is wrong, it is just what it is....we are one here on earth spiritually....our emotional/material self is the non accepting factor.
No one is bowing down and serving any one but the God they believe in and how he is presented to one is very very personal and not something anyone else has a right to even ask about. It is how it is. No one can really define the Whole Source. It is our home, and Jesus and Buddha and Shiva and the Ascended Masters are all there to help us on our path way to our whole source, we came from somewhere...we return there...and that process is up for debate!
No - I can not see people putting 'things' above themselves as they themselves are their own connection to the divine even if they left the phone off the 'inner' hook with a dead dial tone. ......it would be suicide if one did otherwise, either way. Its physical suicide if one is worshiping a crystal and dies in the name of it, cant see that happening somehow, unless you make uranium bombs. ;)
Its spiritual suicide if we have no belief in our god selves. We need to hang the phone back up...and re-dial....dont' be suprised when someone answers your calling.......it just may be 'God' or one of his 'messengers'.
