Question:
Do Christians have Divine Love ???

It seems Many Christians love God by helping others ?? Helping others in the sense of converting them ?? A motive in that ?? This makes Buddist helpers better because they help without a motive.

Helping the homeless, feed the hungry, these are certainly laudable activites. But such actions could only be considered virtuous by those who are not very introspective. I realize that this assessment seems harsh. But ask yourself this question, Can it really be considered an act of trancendent Love to throw a rope to a drowning man ?? or to clothe someone ? Or feed them ? Are we so jaded that we consider a natural human response to someone else's suffering a virtuous Christian sacrifice ??

The biblical commandment to love a neighbor has been reduced to what is really just a fundamental human reaction to another's pain. This type of love is not divine Love.

Dear Friend,

You are in error, becuase you do not know the Holy Scriptures. The reason that Christians share their faith is motivated by a pure love for their fellow man.

John 3:16"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,[a] that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life

The key here is the word 'perish' Christians would like everybody to come to faith in Jesus so that they may be saved and gain eternal life, it is not for ourselves but for others.

Philippians 2:3

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.

1 John 3:18

Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth

Our motivation is a pure love, we do not seek to please ourselved, but only God. Why not investigate these things for yourself Brother

God Bless

1. It is easy to criticize what you don't understand.

2. The drowning man, and the homeless are the people who need love and support the most. Yes, agreed that he person who saved a drowning man didn't do anything special, it was his duty to save the other, but have you considered that it's a job well done. A nice word goes a long way, even the Krishna will tell you that.

3. With respect to conversion, even the ISKON movement is ultimately evangelistic. What ISKON calls 'initiation' is actually nothing but the same as 'converting' in Christian religion. Think about it.

A fundamental human reaction to another's pain would be a vast improvement in Christianity.

I must say I'd rather have a Christian throw me a rope as I'm drowning then to watch you radiating your divine love as you watch me die.

If you could see everything, then perhaps it would be ok to let me die, but I don't think such enligtened divine individuals exist. If they do then they should be ashamed for not telling the rest of us how it all works.

OK both Christians and non-Christians alike are naturally inclined to give and do good works but do we always do so. How many times have you seen someone in need and you thought about yourself only. Giving is not about love only but its about sacrifice. Giving out of ones need is when you get total fulfillment in giving. Christians help others hoping that they will be converted but they don't deny help to those who refuse Jesus either. I don't call that motive I call that purpose. Also if you were trying to convert a hungry man to Buddhism who you expect him to convert without you first feeding him? First natural then spiritual.

Having studied & associated with both Christians & Buddhists, I've noticed that:

Both are good religions.

Both have people who are very spiritual & people who are very little spiritual.

It's not our job to judge others. Just be the best we can, and let the real Divine Love do any judging that is needed.

God's love is Divine. Jesus said "As I have loved you, love one another." That is the path to Divine love. The acts you describe are not always the natural reaction of humans. Sadly we have a greater tendency to pass by those in distress not wanting to "get involved".

i am a christian and i love "saving' others, cause i know that everyone needs to be. i help others cause they see that im different then most people and wander what makes me that way, then that opens up a way to talk to them about the bible and how if u accept Jesus, then u can be different too.

Is 'converting them' makes rich? No.

Then what's our motivation?

We just introduce Jesus to others who never hear before.

Thats all our job. We dont push them either.
