Question:
Christians do you try and spread the word of God wherever you go?
Jesus is our Savior

I spread his word as much as possible. I feel many people don't know about God and how he sent his son to die for our sins. Thus, I know once they learn how much God has done for us many will end up turning to Him. Which means another new name in the Lambs book of life. Which I think is amazing and of course God deserves the praise.

I am trying, but I admit failure.

I am involved in exhorting the body of believers to read their Bibles and pray and move in the Spirit, as well as witness on a bus and in the store, etc...

the Time IS short and the harvest is ripe.

As for Alex, Why are trying to convince a Christian to NOT witness? you are spreading YOUR anti-faith right there and are a hypocrite by trying to FORCE your view on the Christian community!

This Ones Really Easy: First Of All, Its Everyones Duty To Spread The Word That Believes In Jesus and His Teachings. Second, The Word Your Really Referring To Is The Gospel, The Gospel Of Jesus Christ. Third, You Don't Need People Giving You Verses Because They Are In The Four Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, And John. Read Them For Yourself Of What Jesus Says And You Will Have Your Answers And Scripture Versus, Plus There Are Too Many To Write All Out, You Need To Study Those Four Gospels On Your Own And Not Make Spreading The Messege So Hard. And FYI, This Message Stands Out Above The Rest That You Will Need To Spread, John 3:16, For God So Loved The World That He Gave His Only Son, That Whoso Ever Believes In Him, Should Not Parish, But Have Everlasting Life. Another One About The Holy Spirit That He Sends To Help And Guide You Is: Acts 1:8, You Will Receive Power, After The Holy Spirit will Come Upon You, And You Will Be Witnesses Unto Me Both In Jerusalem, And In All Judea, And In Samaria, And Unto The Uttermost Part Of The Earth. FYI Again, Just Read The Whole New Testament. It Will Help, And When You Get To Revelation, The End, You Will Find Out What Really Happens To This World At Doomsday Time. If Your Interested, Good Luck To You, Peace Be With You, And God Bless Fight The Good Fight Of Faith, Dont Give Up.

If possible. There are some in here (in this senior apt) that are very set in their beliefs and even laugh about God. Most of the time it is much easier to encourage someone who is already saved. But, I also found that if I pray for people, God has a way of answering. He knows what will get to them. I do leave some Christian books that are transforming here---a few at a time. Jesus is always the answer!!!

I spread the word any way I can on the Internet.

I did that and turned many people off when I was new and radically Christian. Now, I only witness to a personal experience occasionally... where I was healed of a tumor I had for many months, that I was to have surgically removed, I went to a church that did laying on of hands (not my church) my church didn't practice that sort of mumbo-jumbo, although I had the preoperative admissions X-rays and sonogram that showed a very large solid mass seven inches by three inches, two days before admission, with the laying on of hands and anointing with oil by the church elders, it completely disappeared over night. My doctors had me on the operating table and were baffled. I told them the miracle story and they wrote a comment on the chart that the patient no longer has clear cut borders to the tumor and surgery was canceled. Patient is confused about this. I wasn't confused about it, they were. I don't go to church anymore...but that is something I can't deny.

I do to those who want to hear what I have to say or ask me about my beliefs.I don't go door to door telling folk you eighter turn or burn. That really causes problems.I have found by showing them Christ in me that I reach more of them and most want to know how GOD effects my life and so then I tell them.As you are aware I don't quote scriptures on here cause I think folk can read for themselves and then IF they wish to know then I can answer them.Maybe not your way of doing things but so for it has worked well for me.

I belong to the Church instituted by Christ. Having been divinely sent to the nations that she might be the "universal sacrament of salvation", the Church in obedience to the command of her founder ,and because it is demanded by her own essential universality, strives to preach the Gospel to all men. The Lord's missionary mandate is ultimately grounded in the eternal love of the Most Holy Trinity: The Church on earth is by her nature missionary since, according to the plan of the Father, she has as her origin the mission of the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Of course. We are to be the Light in a Dark world. And when we go into the darkness, we are obligated to take the Light.

It's also a matter of being obedient to Christ saying "go into all the world".

CHRISTIANS are commanded to "make disciples of people of all the nations," but this does not mean that they are to use pressure or convert others by force. Jesus' commission was to "tell good news to the meek ones," to "bind up the brokenhearted," to "comfort all the mourning ones." (Matthew 28:19; Isaiah 61:1, 2; Luke 4:18, 19) Jehovah's Witnesses seek to do this by declaring the good news from the Bible. Like the prophet Ezekiel of old, Jehovah's Witnesses today try to find those who "are sighing and groaning over all the detestable things that are being done."—Ezekiel 9:4.

Ways They Use to Share the Good News

I will share The Word with those who are open to hearing... I let God decide who those are... and if they are open it is relatively easy to bring up The Good News with them.... unless I see a clear openness I will not press the God stuff.

(sorry for long answers) ..Although I'm not a full convert yet I have a plan in regards to this. As someone who once was a non Christian I know more than anyone that directly attempting to convert someone or pushing Christian morality onto someone can cause them to react quite aggressively because, right or wrong, you are essentially encroaching on their personal space sorta.

My plan isn't to go out and start preaching to everybody, rather I'm just going do it through my actions because it was THROUGH SOMEONE ELSE'S ACTIONS that I decided to convert. When I saw such compassion and charity in a person I recently met, that I realised I wanted to be a part of that.

I'm going to do the same... through actions instead of word, and if people want to know more or are interested in it they can approach me and I'll be happy to share. That way I'm not pushing the word of god onto people... but am still having it ready and waiting for anyone who might want to know about it.

It is not quite possible at the moment, speaking about God does sound strange, another language all together, it actual fact it sounds as though we have came out or going into a mental asylum.

WOW, Sidwell must be really old, he actually SAW the crusades. Give me a break!!!

Yes I witness to everyone everywhere I go, well I try to. I do not feel you can call yourself a Christian if you do not witness to the lost. Jesus commanded us to do it so we must do it.

ETA

By your actions huh?

Do you have any idea how many christians I have seen whos actions do NOT follow the new testament?

I have seen christian moms hitting and abusing their children

I have seen christian men and pastors run off with another woman who was NOT their wife

I KNOW OF MANY christian PREISTS who rape and abuse children

I have seen the christian church attack and kill anyone who was not a christian - the crusades.

Catholic, Protestant - they ALL claim to be christians so they are all get the blame for the wars. I dont care which church commited these atrocities.

It is precisely these actions which drove me AWAY from your religion.

Yes, it's a good idea to ready in season and out of season to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I try to wait on God's leading and direction and when the time is right the holy spirit gives me the exact words to say...

I spread the word, too. Jesus is a fictional character. Amen!

edit- talking to people is in no way 'pushing' my religion onto others. it is no crime to simply inform.

Wow. Why would you do that? Why would you ever push your beliefs on other people? What is it about your own life that makes it so you can't let others live the way they want?

Is it an insecurity? Is it jealousy? I bet your one of those people who argues with atheists, and tells them they are wrong.
