There are no controversial violent Buddhist texts unlike Islam and there are no discussion or whether unbelievers should be killed or not in any case. There has never been a Buddhist regime or army to conquer other countries and neither forced them to convert unlike the Muslims. Honor killings, suicide bombings and forced marriages, and female circumcisions are unknown in Buddhism as opposed to Islam. There are no wars inside Buddhism itself between different traditions (Mahayana & Theravada) but there are still wars to this day between Sunnis and Shiites in Islam. Self-immolation is a Buddhist concept where they set themselves on fire to make a statement or protest. They even go as far to purely hurt themselves other than to harm another person, again unlike Islam. Buddhists try to change themselves and put the blame on themselves rather than to change other people, this seems immanent to Buddhism. So why is Islam instead of Buddhism called the religion of peace after centuries of bloodshed and violence?

Sorry to inform you there was a Buddhist regime or army look for that on Japan in the Edo period. But for other examples not mentioned by other post ... 1930s Rangoon, nationalist monks stabbed Europeans, In Southeast Asia, Thailand has had several prominent virulent Buddhist monastic calls for violence. In the 1970s, Buddhist monks argued that killing Communists did not violate any of the Buddhist precepts i can go on or look for it yourself but they are more peaceful that any of the Abrahamic religions...Judaism, Christianity or Islam by the body count nothing spiritual or supernatural there

There's a Twilight Zone episode called 'The Good Life', where a family is trapped on a farm with a strange little boy, who somehow has magical powers so that he can do just about anything. During the episode, we see that the entire family is secretly terrified of doing something that will anger the boy, and so everybody praises and agrees with the boy, even when he does horrible things. 'That's good, real good!"

More people have died from the teachings and practices of Islam than all other religions combined, since the beginning of time.

That is not an exaggeration. It is a statistical fact. Look up a historical record of religious wars and conflicts and you will see what I'm talking about.

I suspect that only the Muslims call their religion a "religion of peace".

Most of the REST of the world doesn't .. and it is the fault of the terrorists, who proclaim themselves to be Muslims.

None of them are peaceful. The Qur'an has so many verses ordering their believers to fight/kill, It's not even funny.
