Too what I know is that Satan was a fallen angel. He gave choices to his angels and Satan decided to go the other way. To me what I believe is that the devil is the bad part of God since everything is this world is balanced. For the very great part of God there is a very evil part as well. The Chinese call it the Yin&Yang and there are many names around the world. You can tell how great God is by looking at what evil has evolved into presently.

This is an excellent question.

God was in heaven and Lucifer was the arch angel in charge of worship. Lucifer became jealous of God and man when man was created because now man worshipped God without the guidance of Lucifer.

So, Lucifer rebelled against God and said he wanted man to worship him and he would still control the worship of God.

God, saw this as blasphemy and banished Lucifer and the angels he was in control of. They were then sent to the earth. (This is why some believe hell is in the center of the earth, I don't know about that myself)

So, God created Lucifer to be his worship leader of sorts. Then Lucifer was sent out of heaven and has battled against God and man ever since.

The reason why Lucifer became Satan has to be that good cannot exist on it's own. God gave man free will and what kind of free will would there be if we only had the good things to choose. So, it must be tied to God giving us true complete free will.

God is real and so is Satan. I can tell you that because I have had personal encounters with both, in a spiritual sense.

I have also been healed of a condition that doctors told me that the only explanation was that I was healed.

I hope that helps.

That's like asking why God made man imperfect. He didn't. He made perfect human (and angelic) creatures who had free will.

Would they have been perfect if they didn't have free will? No. They would have been no better than robots. God gave us this WONDERFUL gift of free will.

But some humans (and angelic creatures) chose to abuse that gift and rebel against God. Satan was the first to do that, and he did it because he allowed pride to grow too great within himself. He thought HE deserved worship that rightly belonged only to God. In doing that he became a "Satan" and a "Devil"

Yes it is true that God could have used foreknowledge and seen the future to know how it would work out. But maybe although he CAN he chooses not to. Maybe he likes to be surprised a little. Let things work out and see how it goes.

Humans sinned because they chose to, Satan sinned because he chose to. Plenty remain righteous because THEY choose to. And God rewards those who do.

Ezekiel 28:12-15 describe Satan this way.

You are sealing up a pattern, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.  In E′den, the garden of God, you proved to be. Every precious stone was your covering, ruby, topaz and jasper; chrysolite, onyx and jade; sapphire, turquoise and emerald; and of gold was the workmanship of your settings and your sockets in you. In the day of your being created they were made ready.  You are the anointed cherub that is covering, and I have set you. On the holy mountain of God you proved to be. In the midst of fiery stones you walked about.  You were faultless in your ways from the day of your being created until unrighteousness was found in you.

Did you see this last sentence? Satan was created perfect, faultless in his ways until unrighteousness was found, his desire to be worshiped by mankind. This was his sin which has lead to man's great sorry.

"Why did God allow Satan and the demons to sin?"

With both the angels and humanity, God chose to present a choice. While the Bible does not give many details regarding the rebellion of Satan and the fallen angels, it seems that Satan, probably the greatest of all the angels (Ezekiel 28:12-18), in pride chose to rebel against God in order to seek to become his own god. Satan (Lucifer) did not want to worship or obey God; he wanted to be God (Isaiah 14:12-14). Revelation 12:4 is understood to be a figurative description of one third of the angels choosing to follow Satan in his rebellion, becoming the fallen angels / demons.

Unlike humanity, however, the choice the angels had, to follow Satan or remain faithful to God, was an eternal choice. The Bible presents no opportunity for the fallen angels to repent and be forgiven. Nor does the Bible indicate that it is possible for more of the angels to sin. The angels who remain faithful to God are described as the “elect angels” (1 Timothy 5:21). Satan and the fallen angels knew God in all His glory. For them to rebel despite what they knew about God is the utmost of evil. As a result, God does not give Satan and the other fallen angels the opportunity to repent. Further, the Bible gives us no reason to believe they would repent even if God gave them the chance (1 Peter 5:8). God gave Satan and the angels the same choice He gave Adam and Eve - to obey Him or not. The angels had a free-will choice to make - God did not force or encourage any of the angels to sin. Satan and the fallen angels sinned of their own free will - and therefore are worthy of God's eternal wrath (Matthew 25:41).

Why did God give the angels this choice, when He knew what the results would be? God knew that one third of the angels would rebel, and therefore be cursed to the eternal fire. God also knew that Satan would further his rebellion by tempting humanity into sin. So, why did God allow it? The Bible does not explicitly give the answer to this question. The same can be asked of almost any evil action – why does God allow it? Ultimately, it comes back to choice. God created free beings, the angels and human beings. If God wanted beings who simply did what they were programmed to do, the animals would have sufficed. No, God desired beings with whom He could have a genuine relationship, and therefore He gave us all the ability to choose, and presented us with a choice.

Satan was a Holy Angel at one time. When he reached a certain level of authority in heaven he began to sin. It was when he deceived the first man and women and caused them to separate from enjoying living in sinless state with in God's Holy Spirit and begin living through Satan within the awareness of good and evil that God cursed Satan and gave him over to death, which is a state of only being able to participate in the things that are not of God.

The answer is that God ways are higher than ours and we do not understand His ways, which means that no one should question or expect anyone to be able to answer this question.

God created an angel of beauty and he ws an anointed cherub perfect and with wisdom..... because out of pride he desired to be equal to God......he was banished by God from His presence and he turned to be the deceiver -- the Satan

The Bible is full of contradictions. I guess no one thought we would be questioning everying two thousand years later!

There is no single answer because there is no Satan. Both the Bible and the Quran are man's attempt's to tame the animalistic qualities of a society that was and continues to be disruptive.

It's like telling children to be good or Santa Claus will not bring them anything. Or to leave their tooth under the pillow for the tooth fairy.

That's all Satan is. "You be good or you will go to hell to live with Satan."

That's it.

To understand darkness, you require light similarly to understand the Bad you need to know Good too.

Ultimately there is nothing good or bad in this world.

Everything is just IS!!!

When a teacher wants to explain something to a student, she has to give an example to show what it is!Let us say when she says this is an orange. She can only explain by saying it is like a sweet lime. Though both are not the same.Likewise the opposites can be explained with two diverse examples.

God did not create satan... God created a man and as with all men this man used his free will... and chose to be evil. hence the birth of satan.

God did not create satan, Lucifer did, or should I have said, satan did.
2008-06-21 07:21:23 UTC
Because God gave us all free will.

Without free will we are only robots, machines like the computer you are using.

God offers everlasting life on a paradise earth. (Psalm 37:10, 11)

We individually have to choose life in order to live.

Maybe it was for Adam and Eve to have free will. Maybe Adam and Eve wouldn't have sinned without the temptations of Satan.

Maybe God wants more love than He would have got.

Maybe, maybe, maybe

No one knows, no one knows.

I guess we gotta wait until heaven, huh?

What makes you think God created Satan? If "god" created "satan" then satan wouldn't have such a powerful purpose.

This is why you SHOULDN'T believe in god.

Satan was created a glorious angelic son of God...but he wanted to have man worship him...so he left his designated place and lost his position...HE MADE HIMSELF SATAN the devil which mean slanderer and resister.

God did not create evil.

When angels go bad. Free will gone wrong. Or maybe he wanted a fall guy for everything that ever sucked about existence. Who says God and the Devil are enemies? According to Job they occasionally get together to really screw with someone supremely.

God said " I created 'good' and 'evil' Lucifer was a cherub, whose job was to protect the throne. This was a moving and traveling throne. Pride and discontent was found in him, and he was removed from the throne by Michael, the Arch Angel.

He created hell so as to balance with heaven or paradise. Satan was cursed was destined for hell, so vowed to drag as much man to hell with them by deceiving them with false belief. Man is given the brain to think which is true and which is false but yet they failed in their choice. In our prayer we ask " Show us the right path, the path of the people whom you bestowed with your love" So Satan was created to fill hell with man who fell into his trap.

a balance between good and evil. Common sense applies here, since there can't be an in balance of the two. For example, if we were to eliminate crime completely, there wouldn't be any chaos, throwing the entire society in a tailspin and completely destroying it. The same applies for good. God made evil in order to balance everything completely.
