How honest are you about who you have blocked?

Question

In the event that someone asked you who you've blocked, what would you say? Would you tell the truth, or lie? Would you say "no one," even if you have blocked someone?

Recently, someone asked me if I've blocked any users here. And I admit -- at first, I was inclined to say I've blocked no one, but that's not true.

Do you think it's something that people should be willing to be truthful about?

I blocked one person, once, because I found her avatar and questions to be lewd. Later I went back to look at her QAs and see if I should unblock her, because I felt kind of bad, and she had been deleted (or had deleted herself).



I don't think blocking is something to *lie* about. Nothing is worth lying about, especially not something as innocuous as blocking.



I will say I find it strange when people I've never come into contact with block me, though. I've had that happen several times, and I'm always like, wow, am I really so dreadful that people that I don't even know who they are have blocked me?

As much as I've been suspended, I almost never hesitate to block someone anymore. I used to block only suspected report monkeys and spammers, but lately I've also been blocking those who answer only with insults. I really don't care one way or the other whether other users are truthful about their use of the blocking feature.

I would tell the truth. I have about 5 people blocked right now. I only block people after I get a load of VNs that ironically seem to match up in time with a certain hateful poster. Otherwise... *shrugs*

I have blocked Darth Muhammed ... but he has several accounts now and only one is blocked



apart from that , I dont think I have blocked anyone else

not even any of the ones who have blocked me



I did block Julia for a few moments when the block first started...

but she was only my little experiment though and she knew what I had done

I have plenty of people blocked, it started with clones and stalkers. Then I got to where I'd block someone if they blocked me. Some I blocked just to remove them from my fan list and then unblocked. I used to have a few of the atheist "regulars" blocked even due to a nasty argument but (I think) I have since removed all of them from my block list because even if they have me blocked it still seems childish.

I won't say who I've blocked, because my standard is reasonable suspicion of trolling. I could be wrong and I have frequently unblocked people when I realize it.

If someone asked me who I've blocked, I'd either tell them, or if I felt it was none of their business I'd tell them that it was none of their business. I wouldn't lie about it though.

I tell them right when I block them. If they've been obnoxious one too many times in a question I've asked, I say "welcome to my block list".
