Question:
Are people who deny evolution under-educated?

Here's a poll done by The Gallup Poll, May 21-24, 2007, and was even shown on CNN:

Do you, personally, believe in evolution or not?

..............................%, Yes, by education
Post-graduate.....................74%
College graduate.................53%
Some college......................41%
High School or less..............21%

I would say so, but I wouldn't necessarily blame the undereducated as often it is not their fault.

It's when people are shown the evidence but refuse to acknowledge it that I get annoyed. (Ray Comfort anyone?)

This is a loaded question. Evolution happened, but what kind of evolution? If they mean Darwin's theory of evolution then no I don't. There is not a single solid case of mutation where the mutation was a benefit to the subject. But it doesn't say Darwin's theory of evolution, it just says evolution. Only an idiot would mark no. Why am I not surprised this was a CNN Poll? A monkey must have conjured it up.

I do not rely on polls or theories that come and go. What I do rely on is the honest to God's TRUTH found in His Holy Word. Did you know that there is a NEW theory on evolution? You know..how man changes his theories about evolution and such? It seems that the new theory is that instead of humans evolving from the apes, they now believe that there is an ancestor that both the ape and humans evolved from APART FROM EACH OTHER. And from this ancestor apes came about (evolved) and so did humans. Wow!..another day, another theory..NO THANKS..I'm content with God's NEVER changing TRUTH and when all is said and done and Jesus judges us..I doubt if He will take the POLLS into consideration.

How interesting. I wonder if there is a direct correlation between the percentages of college and post-graduate educators who are atheists and the fact that the longer young people spend under their influence the more likely they are to become atheist too? Statistics can be used to support any viewpoint that you choose and are basically worthless. I can make a good case for the fact that modern academia has intimidated and indoctrinated students to conform at least outwardly to belief in the theory of evolution, and I can do it using the exact same statistics you use to try to make your point.

It appears that it helps you to feel superior to believe that you are more highly educated and intellectual than those who have faith in God. Fine. But if you really are deeply confident in your beliefs and have the high self-esteem you seem to purport, then show it by ceasing to denigrate those who have beliefs contrary to your own. That is a real sign of high-intelligence.

No we would rather spend eternity in Heaven instead of Hell. And those who give me thumbs down are just denying themselves of everlasting lives. And who would want to believe Charles Darwin,a guy who thought we were monkies at one point?

Why would people want to believe in a subject such as evolution. Evolution is completely useless that is why we have faith and that is also why we have the Lord to give us all the answers we are searching for.

Yes. By worldly standard, people who deny evolution are under-educated humans. But they aren't well-educated apes.

Truth isn't matter of belief; it's a matter of fact.

No, just that nobody was there at the time and any alternative answer could be the right one other than that particular one. Remember even scientists do a lot of guess work they have been wrong before and they can be wrong again. Just that in college they indoctrinate their students with one view point which in itself is rather myopic of them.

If you took out religious colleges the figure would be even greater.

The key common denominator is Americanism. American seem to believe that intelligent design more than any one else.

no. it's based on their religion. education has nothing to do with it unless you're talking sunday school or something. mostly people get their ideas from their parents but some have completely different views than them soooo.... I'd say that poll is probably A. a complete waste of money B. completely usless C. stupid

No, they just have some diffrent ideas or are skeptical, thats what science is about, we shouldnt all have the same beliefs. For all you know in a few years one of those "uneducated people" will propose a new and better theory. Persoanlly though, i do believe evolution

Why do we pick on misguided creatures who can't defend themselves?

Because we can and its FUN.

And yes I probably did pull the wings off of flies when I was young. I did it for SCIENCE!!!!!

YES. The Theory of Evolution is not a theory in the sense that the word theory is thrown around in today's society ("I have a theory...") It's is widely, WIDELY, accepted by scientists as TRUTH.
