Can someone please explain to Atheist that time travel isnt possible?

A lot of atheist belive that time travel is possible but it isnt because the bible is expressive regarding life and death. Hebrews 9:27 It is appointed men once to die and after this comes the judgement. So based on the bible not only is time travel not possible but it would defy the very laws of God(Yaweh).....and that aint possible

Time travel is not only possible, its a reality...study Einstein a bit. That it's appointed for men to die once has nothing at all to do with time travel....

A Christian.

Actually, the fact that time travel is possible is proof that there is no God. Hebrews 9:27 It is appointed men once to die and after this comes the judgement. So because this Bible quote contradicts the fact that time travel is possible, the Bible is wrong, and therefore God does not exist.

How stupid and the very reason christians are being seen as such because of silly posts like yours!

It has been proved beyond question that there are time differences involved in being on Earth and traveling through space!

Even someone on top of a mountain is at a different time relative to someone at sea level. An infinitesimally small variation but one that has been proved time and again!

Thus if the person on top of the mountain descends there is a very small amount of time travel involved!

Can someone please explain to this questioner why they are causing christianity to be so ridiculed?!

Well besides the same variances in time due to relativity, meaningful time travel is essentially impossible with out extreme amounts of energy. So while relativity shows that time travel is possible, it also shows that as the speed increases the amount of energy needed to continue accelerating also increases. To reach the speed of light would take a prohibitive amount of energy.

Now if we could just find a wormhole, it might be possible...

Like what the person above me said, time travel (theoretically) is plausible but only forward through time. Time is relevant, meaning that time is depends on you and not the other way around. It is impossible to time travel to the past, since it has already happened. There is also time warps, etc... So yes time travel is possible. Now you're saying is it morally acceptable? Now that's a whole other topic and depends on your religion but I completely doubt they had any idea that time travel could ever exist back then, so I doubt it's "morally unacceptable".

You are incorrect. Time travel is possible, and it occurs all the time. You fail to understand basic physics. Everyone on a plane, everyone in fact that moves relative to someone else, time travels into the future.

Though the amount of time difference is minimal due to the slow speeds, the fact is that time travel occurs.

You should do your homework ... and start with Einstein's theories which HAVE been proven correct many times.

christian here

time travel is possible

"physics of the impossible"

great book..you should read it

the verse youre quoting

die once...doesnt mean no time travel

maybe no reincarnation, thats how i would interpret the quote when read out of context

because i also believe in reincarnation

good thing agreeing or disagreeing on these two topics

has absolutely nothing to do with salvation

you could learn a lot from an atheist

try befriending one

Time travel into the future is possible, and in fact has already been done by the Russians.

Of course, it's only a very small amount, we don't have the propulsion means to go much further yet.

Time travel to the past is not possible. Unless one has a means to not only maintain both ends of a theoretical wormhole, but also be able to move one end of the wormhole at near light speed, while keeping the other end stationary. Needless to say, we are eons away from such technology, and may not even survive long enough to reach it.

Time travel is theoretically possible, mathematical calculations and formulas exist and can be analysed and discussed by physics experts. There are no lab or mathematical formulas for why it is wrong to wear two different types of linen at the same time, nor as to why the shabbath must be kept " holy" other than the assertions of some ancient author.

I defy the lawys of your imaginary friend. If your mate yah whey is so awesome why does he let priests fiddle with children?

Once upon a time eating meat on a friday was supposed to be a sin which would send you directly to hell, after a firebolt of doom from above. Now it is not even considered a sin.

First define which of the many styles of time travel you want to discuss. Then we'll decide whether it is or isn't possible.

However, tachyons ARE traveling backwards in time and one of the symmetry theories says they MUST exist even if we aren't equipped to see them.

So what was your point again?

Traveling forward in time is possible because it has already been done. Admittedly only microseconds but anyway that's not the point, it is possible and it has already been done. Anyone who has spent time in a space station has travelled forward in time.

You have no proof. Your Bible is a fallacy. DEBUNKED!

Also, Einstein proved that if one travels faster than the speed of light, one will age at a slower rate. Thus, time travel.

Time travel isnt possible, but sleeping with your mom is
great gig in the sky
2011-01-14 03:38:31 UTC
You don't have to even mention God to do that. A machine that could go faster than the speed of light would shake itself apart long before it reached that speed. Even if you could build it.

Im an atheist and I don't really believe in time travel, but I guess it could be possible.. Who knows..

Are you serious? Did you just use a Bible reference to convince an Atheist of anything?

Honestly, this is the greatest folly of Religion. Believers no longer believe in religion, they claim it as FACT.

Even science doesn't go that far!

ATHEISTS DO NOT BELIEVE IN YOUR GOD!
