Question:
Why Jehovah Witness can be misinforming about Blood Transfusion?

After heavily being criticized by Jehovah Witness I started doing research, consulting a few doctors and I more than convinced that Jw are forever and will be misguided. I don't either one of them understand the concept that everyone responds differently to every single medically treatment no matter the supposed benefits. My doc did everything he could to save my life. After my surgery my blood count was low, I am an anemic, and my blood pressure was stroke level. I was cold and I was wrapped in blankets until the doc finally gave the order for the nurse to give me blood. Man I was slipping away badly. By the time I finally got the blood I was incoherent and yelling at people over the craziest of things. Soon after receiving a small portion of blood and drifting of to sleep I was on my path to recovery. So I'm not dead, I don't have a disease and I could kiss everyone one in America that donates blood. I would have never qualified for a blood less surgery with the way my blood pressure was, and toss in the anemia I was screwed.

I am sick of them(JW) writing in their posts that people are being misled but that is so far from the truth and its pitiful. They are misleading people when they tell them what they are doing is wrong and its not okay one bit.

Jehovah's Witness leadership also know they are wrong about blood but they've backed themselves into a corner. Now they're trying the "incremental" approach to rectify the matter. Gradually letting their members take more and more "fractions" until eventually accepting whole blood will be a conscience matter. At that time, Jehovah's Witnesses wont think about the millions of lives lost due to their misguided policy over the years, they'll just rejoice over the "wonderful new light" they're getting from the Watchtower. Eventually they'll try to convince you that they've believed that way all along and revise all the old literature to support the claim. They have this process of deception and "revisionist history" down pat and the members just lap it all up.

Sweetie - We do not mind you being honest with us. God wants everyone to be honest. He does not like it when anyone tells a lie. The reason we keep coming is not to annoy you and if you want us to stop, all you need do is say so. We try to keep a list but it is very difficult and others may come to your door later. If you look at Matthew 24:14, you will see that God has commanded that the good news of the kingdom be preached all over the world before the end comes. We are obeying that commandment. God is getting ready to restore everything to its original condition and He really wants every living person to live in the next world. The bible tells us that He grieves at the death of a sinner. It is not a problem if you disagree with something you see in the magazines or hear from the witness. ALL of us disagreed with these things before we became witnesses. God has given you free will so you have right to your opinion. But the bible says, "Let us reason together and that is what we do. We try to show people what the bible says on any subject, not what WE say. Another thing you should know and then I will shut up. :) We are all born slaves to Satan. He is the ruler of this world. The bible tells us that the truth will set us free. The bible is written in such a way, that we cannot really understand it, until we really want to learn about God so we can have a relationship with Him. Did you know that He wants you for a friend? Isn't that awesome? Anyway, if you are praying for the knowledge of God or the truth or just how to survive Armageddon, one day, if God sees you are sincere, He will allow you to know the truth. We leave the magazines if the hope that a single word or sentence will "click" on your understanding. It has happened many times. Read the parts that interest you and if the witness tells you something, make her show you in the bible, that it is true. Best wishes.

Because Jehovah's witnesses are not misinformed, neither are they misinforming about blood transfusion,. We are among the most informed group of people about this subject, because of the Biblical stand that we take, taken from Genesis 9:4-6 and Acts 15: 21, 28-29. Every year, we discuss this subject in our meetings, and there is detailed literature with scriptural AND medical documentation. There is a large and growing database of doctors, hospitals and clinics that have trained their medical personnel to respect and even recommend non blood medical management.

We also have the collective experience of local Jehovah's witnesses all over the world that help the congregations to identify the medical resources available that they will go to because they have the equipment already in place to help us with a variety of medical issues, and they also have the mind set and willingness to do so.

It is not true that there are no Jehovah's witness doctors or medical personnel. Not only do they exist, but there is an arrangement that forms and specially trains Hospital Liaison Committees made up of not only medical personnel, but legal personnel and elders who are experienced in counseling health issues in the congregation. These Committees arrange lectures in hospitals for doctors and provide peer reviewed medical research papers describing non blood procedures.

Most importantly, Witnesses who are in the hospital are visited and encouraged by Committee members and other caring members of the congregations.

There are websites online that address non blood management that are not officially from the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's witnesses, but many Jehovah's witnesses and non Witness medical personnel also contribute to the information presented there, such as noblood.org and bloodymedicine.com

On jw.org, there is an article describing a convention of medical professionals in cardiovascular and endovascular surgery that took place a few years ago, representing 40 countries, which discussed medical alternatives to blood transfusion.

So there is no lack of sound medical information here, neither is there a lack of love.

In taking a bloodless approach, your health care team will strive to limit the possibility of heavy bleeding (hemorrhage). However, no surgical techniques or bloodless strategies can completely prevent the possibility of all bleeding. If an unforeseen circumstance results in major bleeding, and you have declined the use of blood donor products, you could experience serious blood loss that may need to be replaced to prevent organ injury or death. It is important that this unfortunate outcome be discussed in advance, so that you may guarantee that your wishes are followed.

In the rare event that this occurs during elective surgery, the complications that you'll experience depend on the amount of blood lost, the speed with which the blood is lost, and your baseline level of health. Healthy adults can usually lose up to 20% of their normal blood volume without suffering permanent damage. If the blood loss occurs slowly over time, a loss greater than 20% of normal blood volume may be tolerated without permanent effects.

However, severe blood loss can cause life-threatening complications such as low blood pressure, changes in the acidity of your blood, and decreased oxygen supply, resulting in damage to vital organs.

Depending upon the specific type of therapy or procedures employed, there may be other increased risks. For example, using some hemostatic agents may have side effects; aprotinin is associated with allergic reactions, and aminocaproic acid may cause blood clots or a condition called disseminated intravascular coagulation.

Discuss your options

If you are considering bloodless surgery, make sure that you understand the basic risks that accompany the particular procedure you'll be undergoing, discuss your unique personal risk factors with your health care team, and ask for help weighing the risks and benefits of using bloodless techniques.

Jehovah Witnesses are not doctors don’t let them try to shame you for doing something that is medically proven to help save lives. Just because something works for one person does not in any way shape or form guarantee the same results for someone else.

Here is an analogy I made up since Jehovah Witness want to toss theirs around so d*mned much.

Eve was led astray by the words of a serpent that seemed to be friendly and approachable but does that mean one should always listen to the words of those who approach & use nice smiles and warmness. Eve gained nothing but suffering. So should you listen to the words of anyone who pretends to be nice?

You will hear Witness's say if you have ever given them the time outside of YA that you need to look into their bible it will do you good, you can get close to God opps I mean Jehovah then you need to read ther bible or any bible but more than likely their bible and their magazines and do their bible study.

They try to cloud the issue by pointing out when alternatives to alternatives work better. Doctors are already very conservative about giving blood transfusions and only do it when not doing so puts the patient's life at severe risk. There are times when a transfusion means the difference between life and death. Those situations are the ones at issue, not the times when an alternative will work just as well.

I am not a JW but i will say to avoid all mainstream medical like the plague that it is, since they only treat symptoms and let all causes remain!!! The cure would come if the cause would be addressed but then the pharmaceutical companies and then the doctors would soon all go out of business because chronic disease started by pharmaceutical chemicals is the main cause of all cancers (and profits), purposely not by accident!!!

Common misconceptions

Myth: Jehovah’s Witnesses don’t believe in medicine or medical treatment.

Fact: We seek the best possible medical care for ourselves and our families. When we have health problems, we go to doctors who have skill in providing medical and surgical care without blood. We appreciate advancements that have been made in the medical field. In fact, bloodless treatments developed to help Witness patients are now being used to benefit all in the community. In many countries, any patient can now choose to avoid blood-transfusion risks, such as blood-borne diseases, immune-system reactions, and human errors.

Myth: Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that faith will heal a person’s ailments.

Fact: We do not practice faith healing.

Myth: Avoiding blood transfusions is very costly.

Fact: Medical treatments that avoid blood transfusions are cost-effective. *

Myth: Many Witnesses, including children, die each year as a result of refusing blood transfusions.

Fact: This statement is totally unfounded. Surgeons regularly perform such complex procedures as heart operations, orthopedic surgery, and organ transplants without the use of blood transfusions. * Patients, including children, who do not receive transfusions usually fare as well as or better than those who do accept transfusions. * In any case, no one can say for certain that a patient will die because of refusing blood or will live because of accepting it.

Why don’t Jehovah’s Witnesses accept blood transfusions?

This is a religious issue rather than a medical one. Both the Old and New Testaments clearly command us to abstain from blood. (Genesis 9:4; Leviticus 17:10; Deuteronomy 12:23; Acts 15:28, 29) Also, God views blood as representing life. (Leviticus 17:14) So we avoid taking blood not only in obedience to God but also out of respect for him as the Giver of life.

Changing viewpoints

Complex surgeries can be successfully performed without blood transfusions

At one time, the medical community generally viewed strategies for avoiding transfusions, so-called bloodless medicine, as extreme, even suicidal, but this has changed in recent years. For example, in 2004, an article published in a medical education journal stated that “many of the techniques developed for use in Jehovah’s Witness patients will become standard practice in years to come.” * An article in the journal Heart, Lung and Circulation said in 2010 that “‘bloodless surgery’ should not be limited to J[ehovah’s] W[itnesses] but should form an integral part of everyday surgical practice.”

Thousands of doctors worldwide now use blood-conservation techniques to perform complex surgeries without transfusions. Such alternatives to blood transfusions are used even in developing countries and are requested by many patients who are not Jehovah’s Witnesses.
