Jesus warned that false prophets would corrupt Christianity. Outwardly, they seem like true worshippers. Their churches claim to be Christian. But you can recognize such people for what they really are. How? Only true worship produces genuine Christians with recognizable qualities and ways.—Read Matthew 7:13-23.

Jesus taught his followers only one religion, the true religion. It is like a road leading to everlasting life. Jesus said: “Few are finding” that road. (Matthew 7:14) God accepts only worship based on his Word of truth. All true worshippers are united in one faith.—Read John 4:23, 24; 14:6; Ephesians 4:4, 5.

lol it's quite ironic how a Jehovah's witness is talking about false prophets.

"How can you recognize true religion today?"

It's the one with a REAL god thingie in it.

Sadly there are NO real god thingies so all religion is a simple scam.

It's a Fantasy with keeping the peasants docile as the only redeeming feature

Why we know it is the truth.

There are (5) ways to tell if you have the truth.

(1) We remain in Jesus teaching.

(2) We love one another.

(3) We adhere to God’s high moral standards.

(4) We remain neutral in the controversies of this world, and

(5) We are God’s name people.

Can you identify the true religion? Mankinds oldest book, the Bible, is the correct tool. But that tool cannot be trusted until it is proven to be true.

But how? Is there a mechanism for testing the Bible? Yes there is. Here is the first premise. Titus 1:2 tells us God cannot lie. Use this point. There fore when we see something in the Bible hard to undestand, research the rest of the Bible on that topic to find out what it really teaches instead of what people who do not check think it teaches.

Here is how to use the Bible. 1 John 4:1 is the key reasoning verse. "Beloved ones, do not believe every inspired statement,* but test the inspired statements* to see whether they originate with God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world."

Let the Bible interpret itself. Only a few places need a language expert to look deeply. And these places are known. Many times it is good to compare different translations of the Bible. Often a change in how a translator words his findings can be a real help. Then we also must realize all languages are dynamic, always changing.

An example is the word gay. It used to only mean happy. Now it refers to sexual orientation. The word swipe used to mean steal. Now it means the act of putting a credit card through a reader.

So by all means test the Bible. You may very well be happy you did.

It kinda seems like you answered your own question.

I've always wondered how each religion is so absolutely sure their choice is right when ALL OF THE OTHER choices claim to be true and right at the same time. Islam claims to be the "one true religion" and claims that Christianity (if I remember correctly) was led astray in its message. That's why the stories are similar. So why Christianity and not Islam? How do you know Muhammad was wrong? I mean how do you REALLY know? Have you read the Qu'ran? Are you familiar with the teachings of Buddhism? Hinduism? What if the Ancient Greeks were right? What if there's a truth we don't even know about yet? How do you KNOW for sure? That's something I'd like an answer to.

If there was a way to identify objective truth with Bible verses....why are there 41,000 denominations of Christianity? Aren't they all reading mostly the same things and coming to different conclusions? Why would this be?
