Yes they are. They are the only ones that obey Jesus commandment to not be a "part of the world." John 17:16-James 4:4 And also they are the only ones that preach the main topic of the Bible which is the kingdom of God Matthew 28:19,20 - Matthew 24:14. Plus much, much, more.

No religion is true nor honest. Some are a philosophy and even those are not completely honest. A religion was a cult that made it by using money.

A fair question. Let us look at it from a historical content. JWs claim to have been around since JC's crucifixion because there were "witnesses" to the event. But is one the same as the other? And if so, why then did Charles Taze Russell initiate it JWs as a religion in the 1870s? And who was Charles Taze Russell? History tells us that he was a non-conformist who tried telling the Catholic Church how to worship and what to teach the congregants, always meddling with the affairs of others... and insofar as validity, HOW MANY TIMES and in HOW MANY YEARS did the JWs not pronounce the End of the War during the early 1900s only to finally decide to stop making false "predictions"? What do they following the same means used to brainwash people, separating people from their families and sending them to "retreats" (a money making venture, too) to drone on and on to those subjected to those brainwashing techniques used by evil governments worldwide? And why is the end result of everything about money...? I won't go into spiritual and/or religious matters right now; I've got my own list of peeves, and I've seen 2 young women almost destroy their family after being brainwashed and their psyches almost destroyed. Imagine a bright, young pre-menstrual little girl DEMANDING her parents change religion "or else" before she started attending "lectures" by a state certified, licensed, long experienced psychologist.

According to them, not only are they the true religion, but they are the ONLY true religion!

They insist that anyone wanting to be saved through Armageddon must join them as a baptized member, loyal to its Governing Body. They doubt if any non-members will survive this battle they've been claiming is about to start for the past 130 years.

Could that be right? Well, the biblical gospel states that people must stop trying to earn God's favour by resting in the finished work of Christ, who died to save sinners. JWs think their own death will pay for their personal sins, so how can any religion that dismisses Christ's death like that be Christian? They say Christ only died to deal with 'Adamic sin' and not even the 144,000 people who are to go to Heaven are covered by that, for they get their place in Heaven by 'forfeiting' their 'right' to everlasting life on a paradise Earth - giving that 'right' up in order to have it exchanged with going to Heaven. How can any group claiming to be Christian have such a warped doctrine about salvation?

JWs also deny many other doctrines mainstream Christianity has always proclaimed, but detailing all of them would take a book. Yet the mere fact of their belief that little more than 8 million people would likely survive Armageddon were it to break out today proves how absurd their religion is. Beware any group insisting that it alone is 'the true religion'. They always put turning to Christ second to turning to their religion and its leaders.

Absaloutly not! Jehovah is not the true name of our Creator! They also think that Jesus is Michael the arch angel! They also think that Jesus was created! They dont believe in keeping the Creators annual feasts ! They dont keep kosher! They think that Jesus is just the son and isnt diety! Need I say more? JWs are a cult who think they have 100% truth! You cannot cross a JW because they have been so deeply indoctinated that they are convinced they are correct. Please remember this - they are on a mission to "snare you", they want you in their religion so will do their upmost to snare you!

No, Jehovah Witnesses are a cult as defined by Christianity. There is almost nothing similar between what Jehovah Witnesses believe and what Christians believe. Zero. Christians believe that salvation is only found in Jesus Christ and only in his name because that is what Jesus taught. Jehovah Witnesses do not teach that. They don't believe Jesus is the name above all names as the Apostle Paul taught. However that is because they have altered the Bible. So when a group decides to do that it is inevitable that false teachings will come as a result.

There is no right or wrong religion. People have the right to choose whatever fits themselves. By the way, I have met a lot of Jehovah's Witnesses who were bullsh*tters. I remember my five year old nephew wanted to play volleyball with the Jehovah's Witnesses because they were having a gathering at the lake we were at, and my nephew said, "They told me to go somewhere else. To play over there, and we'll play over here." Like really? I thought these people were welcoming, but they can't even let an innocent kid play volleyball with them?

HOW ABOUT SOME OUTSIDE THOUGHTS? A cult or not a cult , that is the question?

*** w94 2/15 p. 6 Are Jehovah’s Witnesses a Cult? ***

“Absorbed in Humanity”

"Cult members often isolate themselves from family, friends, and even society in general. Is that the case with Jehovah’s Witnesses? I DO NOT BELONG to Jehovah’s Witnesses,” wrote a newsman in the Czech Republic. Yet he added: “It is obvious that they [Jehovah’s Witnesses] have tremendous moral strength. . . . They recognize governmental authorities but believe that only God’s Kingdom is capable of solving all human problems. BUT WATCH it -they are not fanatics. They are people who are ABSORBED IN HUMANITY" (my caps)

----This since c. 1943 based on Acts 15:28-29 & we continue to champion Jehovah God's and Christ Jesus's other truly powerful doctrines & teachings from the Bible! This as stated:

GROSS UNCLEANESS entails more than sexual sins. For instance, a baptized boy might smoke a few cigarettes in a short period of time and confess this to his parents. He is determined not to smoke again. This is uncleanness, but it has not escalated to the point of being gross uncleanness or “uncleanness . . . with greediness.” Scriptural counsel from an elder or two along with support from the boy’s parents should suffice. But if the boy is a frequent user of tobacco, this would be a deliberate defilement of the flesh, and a judicial committee would be convened to consider this case of gross uncleanness. (2 Corinthians 7:1) If the boy is not repentant, he would be disfellowshipped"

Those who are serious about religion should think that the one they’ve chosen is acceptable to God and Jesus. Otherwise, why would they be involved in it?

Jesus Christ didn’t agree with the view that there are many religions, many roads, all leading to salvation.

Rather, he said: “Narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it.” (Matthew 7:14)

Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that they’ve found that road. Otherwise, they’d look for another religion.

Why we know it is the truth.

There are (5) ways to tell if you have the truth.

(1) We remain in Jesus teaching.

(2) We love one another.

(3) We adhere to God’s high moral standards.

(4) We remain neutral in the controversies of this world, and

(5) We are God’s name people.

The best you know after prayer and sincere seeking is the true religion. Even as a Catholic I have to admit that true as my Faith is, its understanding by adherents does in no way exhaust its meaning. You are confused about what something is in itself and what it is to those who in varying degrees adhere to it.

No. It would be extremely difficult trying to convince anybody who has read and studied the Bible that Jesus himself is "Michael the Archangel." One of the biggest misunderstandings of the gospel Watchtower theology has in my opinion.

... Let alone the many other heretical ideas the Jehovah's Witnesses hold to:

1: Two-class system of salvation.

2: Jesus is no longer man (all priests are men). Jesus is our high priest who represents us. "For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the MAN Christ Jesus” (1 Timothy 2:5).

3: Only the 144,000 are part of the New Testament covenant (blood covenant).

If you don't believe you're born again, and have the Spirit of God indwelling you, you're not a Christian by New Testament terms.

No, they are not. They are decent, sincere and caring people who genuinely believe they alone have "the truth" and everybody else is part of false religion, soon to be destroyed at Armageddon. But they have been deceived.

Religion itself is meaningless. Religion does not save anybody. The only thing that matters is to turn to Christ Jesus and put your faith in Him. God so loved the world he sent, not an organization or a governing body - not even a committee - but he sent His Son so that all who believe in HIM might have eternal life.

Genuine love and unity identify Jehovah’s servants as the ones who practice the true religion, for Jesus said: “I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, you also love one another. By this all will know that you are my disciples—if you have love among yourselves. (John 13:34, 35) And the apostle John wrote: “The children of God and the children of the Devil are evident by this fact: Whoever does not practice righteousness does not originate with God, nor does the one who does not love his brother. For this is the message that you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.” (1 John 3:10, 11) Love that results in extraordinary unity marks Jehovah’s Witnesses as Christ’s true followers, the ones whom God is using to serve his purpose to have the good news of the Kingdom preached in all the inhabited earth.—Matthew 24:14.

What attitude is required of Jehovah’s servants toward those who do not worship the only true God? In our preaching work, we meet with varied responses, some favorable, some hostile. Regardless of how people react, however, God’s Word shows the standard that his servants must maintain. It states: “Let your words always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should answer each person.” (Colossians 4:6) When we make a defense before everyone who demands of us a reason for our hope, we do so “with a mild temper and deep respect” because we are motivated by neighbor love.—1 Peter 3:15.

We show love of neighbor even if our message is rejected by an angry householder who berates us. We imitate Jesus: “When he was being insulted, he did not insult in return. When he was suffering, he did not threaten, but he entrusted himself to the One, Jehovah who judges righteously.” (1 Peter 2:23) Whether we are with fellow believers or others, we show humility and apply the counsel: “Do not pay back injury for injury or insult for insult. Instead, repay with a blessing.”—1 Peter 3:8, 9.

By maintaining a humble attitude, Jehovah’s people obey an important principle given by Jesus. In his Sermon on the Mount, he declared: “You heard that it was said: ‘You must love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ However, I say to you: Continue to love your enemies and to pray for those who persecute you, so that you may prove yourselves sons of your Father who is in the heavens, since he makes his sun rise on both the wicked and the good and makes it rain on both the righteous and the unrighteous.” (Matthew 5:43-45) Yes, as God’s servants, we must learn to ‘love our enemies,’ regardless of their attitude toward us.

In all areas of life, Jehovah’s people must show by their attitude and actions that they love Jehovah and their neighbor. For instance, even if some do not respond favorably to the Kingdom message, we show neighbor love when they are in need. The apostle Paul wrote: “Do not owe anything to anyone except to love one another; for whoever loves his fellow man has fulfilled the law. For the law code, ‘You must not commit adultery, you must not murder, you must not steal, you must not covet,’ and whatever other commandment there is, is summed up in this saying: ‘You must love your neighbor as yourself.’ Love does not work evil to one’s neighbor; therefore, love is the law’s fulfillment.” (Romans 13:8-10) As Jehovah’s Witnesses, we show genuine love in this disunited, violent, wicked world that is under Satan’s control. (1 John 5:19) Surely, love will dominate every activity on earth in the new world after Satan, his demons, and rebellious humans have been removed from the scene. What a blessing it will be when all inhabitants of the earth love God and their neighbor! Isaiah 43:10 says, "You are my witnesses,” declares Jehovah, “Yes, my servant whom I have chosen, So that you may know and have faith in me And understand that I am the same One. Before me no God was formed, And after me there has been none."

A pleasant young man stopped by my house the other day. A Jehovah's Witness. I quickly jumped to the chase in the conversation and inquired bout JW belief that Jesus is the archangel Michael. I cited Daniel 12 which says the following:

"At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered. Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt." (Daniel 12:1-2)

And I pointed out that Jesus did not arrive on the earth at the "end times" for which Daniel was writing, but two thousand years before.

Thus, the young man brought out his "Awake" magazine and referred me to an article on this very subject of Jesus vs Michael. The article cites two verses that allegedly tie Jesus and Michael together, to wit, "The Scriptures clearly indicate that Michael is another name for Jesus" (Awake, no. 5-2017). Here are those scriptures:

"For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first." (1 Thessalonians 4:16)

"But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not himself dare to condemn him for slander but said, 'The Lord rebuke you!'" (Jude 9)

To which I react , "what"? It is not even a subtle statement of the same person (i.e., Michael and Jesus) let alone a bold statement. If Jesus WERE Michael, that would be a profoundly re-stated truth throughout the Bible. And it appears NOWHERE.

I finished up the conversation with the young man with this thought: Islam denies Jesus is God; Mormons claim everyone can be a god; even Catholics elevate Mary above Jesus. And Jehovah's Witnesses claim that Jesus is a created being (angel). There is a pattern of pervasive attempts by Satan to denigrate Who Jesus is. Jesus IS God and He is the Creator of everything (John 1:1-3,14).

Conclusion: JW's are Witnesses. They follow a belief system that contradicts the Bible. Therefore, it is false.

No. There is no such thing, even in Christianity. The Bible does not say there is a true religious denomination, nor does it tell you to look for one. The JW organization is in error for making this claim and it isn't true. To imply that God wants you to seek out a religion, rather than seeking His Son, is Biblically false and degrades Jesus in its own way, much like the rest of JW doctrine does.

Where does it say or even implied that christianity is a religion in the bible?

A christian is a person who has trusted Jesus Christ for their salvation by faith and are saved (1Cor 15:1-4, Eph 1:13 & 2:8-9)

CHRISTian - means IN Christ (Rom 8:1) and Christ IN that christian (Rom 8:10)

The JW religion believes NONE of these things from the bible.

The JWs whole belief system is based on a PHILOSOPHY about God and the bible and NOT after Christ (Col 2:8)

If it is true, it is A Truth, but whose truth and whose belief and whose Bible. Each religion has its own Bible. One of the preferred Christian religions, but there is no connection with the society at large. So they see themselves as OUTSIDE the common or more traditional dispensations. Plus it will qualify as a cult.

No they are a non-Christian cult.

Like all non-Christian cults, the Jehovah's Witness' organization distorts the essential doctrines of Christianity. It denies the deity of Christ, His physical resurrection, and salvation by grace. These make it non-Christian. In addition, to support its erring doctrines, the Watchtower organization (which is the author and teacher of all official Jehovah's Witness' theology) has altered the Bible to make it agree with its changing and non-Christian teachings.

Typical with cults that use the Bible to support its position is a host of interpretive errors:

Taking verses out of their immediate context.

Refusing to read verses in the entire biblical context.

Inserting their theological presuppositions into the text.

Altering the Biblical text to suit their needs.

Latching onto one verse to interpret a host of others

Changing the meanings of words

Proclaiming some passages to be figurative when they contradict their doctrines

Adding to the word of God

How old is it? Does the scripture originate from another scripture that precedes it, just as many other denominations, but is different, just like other denominations? And is there an original source for the many versions of the xtian 'old' testament, that was changed to create many denominations? Yes, the one version of the Jewish TaNaKh. So all of xtianity is equally false to start with.

The savior isn't an only mangod son, but an only OBEDIENT nation- Israel. Not an only child, we're all God's children. Only OBEDIENT. The only one to teach reality is God's kingdom. The world/nations- in Hebrew- gentiles, teaches Armageddon- abomination of desolation - to mortal mankind.

Why would God reward the nations for destroying our paradise planet and all life? Jehovah's witnesses don't have hell, excellent! But otherwise, it's as insane as all other xtianities.

"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."

That exclusive statement by Jesus rules out all man-made efforts to get to God, and therefore, ultimately, heaven.

The way to God is a PERSON, not a religion.

"I am the way."

"I am the door."

"I am the gate."

Test these claims Jesus made about Himself. He is the only way into God's Kingdom - which is 'at hand' - so close you can touch it.

Jesus is the one and only PORTAL into this spiritual dimention... a fourth dimention - His Kingdom on earth. This is why we pray 'Thy Kingdom come'. Jesus is a spiritual 'black hole' for the world's sins, crimes and evil.

No not at all. They did not start calling themselves Jehovah's Witnesses until instructed to do so in 1931 by

Joseph Rutherford who changed the name from that of Bible Students which is what the founder Charles Taze

Russell initially called them.

Russell was charged in the early 1900's with fraud for selling "Miracle Wheat" a get rich quick scam.

They have their own translation of the Bible which they call The New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures it has had several changes made to it, to fit what they wish to believe, changing the references to God by

replacing it with the name Jehovah.

They make predictions for the end of the world from time to time, none have been true or we should

not be here now.

They do not fight for their country nor take part in elections, yet are all too ready to share in the benefits

of living in a democracy, such as taking Social Security etc., I could go on, but what is the point?

They have a membership of 8.5 million, quite small in comparison to other so called Christian sects

but despite their small numbers they are known for their doorstep preaching or 'publishing' as they refer

to it. Each month JW's have to report back to their Elders how much much publishing they have done,

if they have not done enough they are castigated for being inactive.

In the UK they meet in heavily barred buildings called Kingdom Halls.

No doubt you and other gullible people will believe what they want.

The worship of Jehovah God is the correct religion obeying his son Jesus Christ in doing so is the correct religion.

Jehovah's Witnesses teach this and they make a decent attempt to worship Jehovah God and to obey Jesus Christ. It is at the Kingdom Hall that you can get the best chance at learning how to worship Jehovah God and Obey Jesus Christ correctly!

But don't swear your life to Jehovah's Witnesses or to the Watchtower bible and tract Society swear your life to Jehovah God and the following Jesus Christ's life example and if Jehovah's Witnesses or the Watchtower bible and tract Society get in the way remember what the Bible teaches you to remember to obey God as ruler rather than men.

Hopefully that won't happen but if it does remember the Bible scripture
?

No.

They do not believe Jesus is who he said he is, the Great I AM (i.e. God; Ex 3:14; Jn 8:24,58). Therefore as Jesus also said, they will die in their sins.

If that were not enough, their NWT Bible changes God's word. For instance, replacing the word "worship" with "obeisance", and even removing whole sections like Mk 16:9-20. That's a big no-no according to Rev 22:18.

Granted, blood is not the tastiest of foods, but in many countries, it is made into foods. (Even our brown gravy is the product of cooked blood.) JWs command their members to abstain from eating blood as a food. The source of this teaching is Satan (1Tim 4:1-3). They mistakenly interpret James' personal judgment for new Gentile Christians at that time to abstain from pagan rituals including blood (Ac 15:19) as a command that blood is never to be eaten for all time.

Last, their unscriptural tradition of shunning creates situations, for instance, where it is impossible for a child to honor their parents (who have left JWism). Therefore as Jesus explained in Mk 7:7-13, their worship is in vain. The Bible speaks of shunning Christians who refuse to repent (Mt 18:15-17; 1Cor 5:13), NOT those who have left the faith, and thus are no longer Christians.

The list of JW anti-biblical practices could go on, but these will suffice to show not only they are not the true religion, but in fact diabolical.

As many lies as the Anti-JW sect of Bigotry find necessary to evangelize in order to make Jehovah's Witnesses seem to themselves - if no one else - Jehovah's Witnesses MUST be right! For a few examples, does it even make sense to say:

Jehovah's Witnesses don't believe in Jesus, even though we obey Jesus, while they disobey what he said at Matthew 28:18-20

Jehovah's Witnesses practice Salvation by Works, even though that would mean rejecting Salvation through Jesus Christ, which we evangelize

Jehovah's Witnesses reject the sacrifice of Jesus Christ that we evangelize

Jehovah's Witnesses deny that Jesus Christ came in the flesh, which is the basis of the sacrifice we evangelize

Jehovah's Witnesses follow a human leader instead of Jesus Christ, whose gospel we evangelize

Jehovah's Witnesses deny that Jesus Christ is God's only-begotten Son, which we also evangelize

Jehovah's Witnesses aren't allowed to read the 1611 KJV Bibles the WB&TS printed and uploaded for us

Jehovah's Witnesses are a doomsday cult, even though we've never believed in doomsday

Jehovah's Witnesses believe that only Jehovah's Witnesses will be saved, even though we evangelize that people of every religion and every other division of mankind will be resurrected to eternal life

Jehovah's Witnesses believe that only 144,000 will be saved, even though there are more than 8,000,000 of us

Jehovah's Witnesses have such a different Bible that people wonder how we can find scriptures in their Bibles

Jehovah's Witnesses shun people who stop doing door-to-door ministry or attending our meetings even though I'm not shunned, but haven't been door-to-door in years, or attended more than a couple meetings in over a year

Jehovah's Witnesses shun people who have declared that they're shunning Jehovah's Witnesses

Jehovah's Witnesses shun family members who were never Jehovah's Witnesses

Jehovah's Witnesses break up families, even though the WB&TS repeatedly urges us to remain with our families, as long as they tolerate us.

Jehovah's Witnesses insist that God's name is "Jehovah", rather than any of the spellings and pronunciations we use in other languages

Jehovah's Witnesses made up the KJV spelling of, "Jehovah", (Exodus 6:3, Psalm 83:18, etc.), 3 centuries before there were Jehovah's Witnesses

Jehovah's Witnesses have the only Bible translation with "Jehovah" in the New Testament

Jehovah's Witnesses have the only Bible translation with "Jehovah" anywhere in it

Jehovah's Witnesses can't find our doctrines in any of the Bible versions we used before we had the NWT

Jehovah's Witnesses aren't allowed to accept medical treatment, despite the advances surgeons have made in their profession at our request

Jehovah's Witnesses can't answer any of the questions that we answer almost every day

Jehovah's Witnesses wrongly "added" 237 instances of God's name to the Bible, when those saying so knowingly prefer Bibles that removed over 6,800 instances of God's name from the Bible

The WB&TS gets rich off the books and magazines we receive for free, and give away for free

Jehovah's Witnesses aren't allowed to do the independent study that the WB&TS urges us to do

Jehovah's Witnesses aren't allowed to read the outside sources of information we have in our Kingdom Hall libraries

Jehovah's Witnesses perform strange, secret rituals at our public meetings

Kingdom Halls that have windows aren't allowed to have windows

Jehovah's Witnesses made up the doctrine that most Protestant theologians taught up until the 20th century, that Jesus Christ is the Archangel Michael

Charles Taze Russell founded Jehovah's Witnesses, even though he died 15 years too early, to even hear of a religion by that name

I know from past experience that people may call me a liar because I posted this. However, anyone who is arrogant enough to pretend that they know other religions', (or any other division of subculture), beliefs and practices better than its members do, is under the mind control of Bigotry.

The Bible does not agree with the modern view that there are many acceptable ways to worship God. Ephesians 4:5 says there is “one Lord, one faith.” Jesus stated: “Narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it. . . . Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will.”—Matt. 7:13, 14, 21; see also 1 Corinthians 1:10.

Repeatedly the Scriptures refer to the body of true Christian teachings as “the truth,” and Christianity is spoken of as “the way of the truth.” (1 Tim. 3:15; 2 John 1; 2 Pet. 2:2) Because Jehovah’s Witnesses base all of their beliefs, their standards for conduct, and organizational procedures on the Bible, their faith in the Bible itself as God’s Word gives them the conviction that what they have is indeed the truth. So their position is not egotistical but demonstrates their confidence that the Bible is the right standard against which to measure one’s religion. They are not self-centered but are eager to share their beliefs with others.

Of all the cults out there that pretend to be christian, Jehovah Witnesses are one of the least identical to christianity. They deny that Jesus is God and that he is the only way to salvation. Anytime you take away from Jesus being God then there is a misunderstanding of what saving faith means. For those who can they should get out. Many of their teachings are good but they err in a serious way in that they have a limited understanding of the Nature of Jesus Christ and the work that he did for the benefit of individuals and mankind, through his sufferings, death and miraculous resurrection, hence hey do not have a full Godly inspired understanding of the Good News (Gospel) of Jesus Christ, Saviour which basically is the free unmerited forgiveness and reconciliation with God (as Father) available and offered to the believing humble repentant sinner (which we all are), and with this Blessing comes a renewal and awakening of the heart/spirit to Spiritual/Godly Truth.

With this Blessing also is given the wonderful and joyful Gift of new and eternal Life, beginning in THIS life. The new follower of Christ becomes aware of the Gift of the Holy Spirit within them who leads the true believer into Truth and the experience of God's Love, and sometimes miracles, which I have known myself - through faith.

Different aspects and manifestations of the One Almighty God are known as - the Father, Jesus the Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are general perceived as 'persons' but are basically the same - being God (Jehovah) This understanding of a plural God is hostile to the JW doctrine.. Please note that in Genesis 1:26 God refers to himself as 'we'..

Also the original and profound title that God uses for himself -"I AM" was also used by Jesus of himself, publicly, this caused a great uproar amongst the Jewish leaders calling him guilty of serious blasphemy and for which they had him arrested and executed.

How to Find the True Religion

If you want to be a friend of God, you must practice the religion that God approves. Jesus said that “the true worshipers” would worship God in harmony with “truth.” (John 4:23, 24) There is only one correct way to worship God. (Ephesians 4:4-6) True religion leads to everlasting life, and false religion leads to destruction.—Matthew 7:13, 14.

You can recognize true religion by watching the people who practice it. Since Jehovah is good, those who are his true worshipers must be good people. Just as a good orange tree produces fine oranges, the true religion produces fine people.—Matthew 7:15-20.

Jehovah’s friends have deep respect for the Bible. They know that the Bible is from God. They allow what it says to guide their lives, to solve their problems, and to help them learn about God. (2 Timothy 3:16) They try to practice what they preach.

Jehovah’s friends show love for one another. Jesus showed love for people by teaching them about God, by curing those who were sick. Those who practice the true religion also show love to others. Like Jesus, they do not look down on those who are poor or are of a different ethnic group. Jesus said that people would know his disciples by the love they show for one another.—John 13:35.

God’s friends honor God’s name, Jehovah. If someone refused to use your name, would that person be your close friend? No! When we have a friend, we use his name and we say good things about that friend to others. So those who wish to be God’s friends should use his name and talk about him to others. Jehovah wants us to do that.—Matthew 6:9; Romans 10:13, 14.

Like Jesus, God’s friends teach people about God’s Kingdom. God’s Kingdom is the heavenly government that will make the earth a paradise. God’s friends share this good news about God’s Kingdom with others.—Matthew 24:14.

Jehovah’s Witnesses try to be friends of God. They respect the Bible and have love among themselves. They also use and honor God’s name and teach others about God’s Kingdom. Jehovah’s Witnesses practice the true religion on earth today.

Jehovah's Witnesses are - by standard English definition - part of (a sect of) the religion of Christianity.

They are not a separate religion in and of themselves.

http://www.dictionary.com/browse/christianity

http://www.dictionary.com/browse/jehovah-s-witnesses

So: if one means to actually ask about **the religion** of the Jehovah's Witnesses

- that is: Christianity

then I would contend that Christianity is, indeed, "the true religion".

Note that Jehovah's Witnesses teach several doctrines that directly contradict Bible teachings, and that teach MANY doctrines that cannot be reasonably justified using the Bible or any other well-accepted source or reasoning technique.

SO: if the question were

- Are Jehovah's Witnesses the "true sect" of Christianity?

I can answer confidently, "No".

Not at all. They deny that Christ is God.
Mayflour
2017-09-08 10:17:54 UTC
Jehovah’s witnesses are very strongly cultic in both doctrine and behaviour, thus fitting both categories of false doctrine and mind control.

What they will tell you:

Jehovah’s Witnesses are Christians (although this varies – some JWs will not say this).

What they won’t tell you:

They believe that all true Christian churches are of the devil.

They believe Jesus is not God, but is the Archangel Michael – the first being created by God.

They deny that God is a Trinity.

They believe Jesus died on a stake, rather than a cross.

They deny that Jesus rose bodily from the dead.

They believe that ony 144,000 Jehovah’s Witnesses will go to heaven. The rest will live forever in a paradise on Earth, never meeting the person who died for them – Jesus Christ.

They believe that salvation is impossible outside of the Watchtower.

They are not allowed to question the Watchtower leadership or teaching.

They claim you need to read the Watchtower’s magazines and other material in order to understand the Bible correctly. If you don’t read the Watchtower’s books, you will “fall into darkness” – what they call reverting to normal Christianity.

They have falsely predicted the end of the world five times.

They have just changed a major Watchtower prediction that the end of the world would come before the generation of Witnesses born before 1914 died.

They used to forbid any vaccinations or organ transplants, even to save lives.

They are not allowed to have blood transfusions, even to save a child’s life. Note that at the meeting of the European Commission of Human Rights (Strasbourg, Monday 2 March – Friday 13 March 1998) http://194.250.50.201/eng/E276INFO.148.html under “II.Reports adopted” the Jehovah’s Witnesses agreed to radically alter this position. In practice (as outlined in a letter which can be read at Comments from the Friends), the Jehovah’s Witnesses do not acknowledge that they need to change their control methods.

“The applicant [Christian Association Jehovah’s Witnesses in Bulgaria] undertook with regard to its stance on blood transfusions to draft a statement for inclusion in its statute providing that members should have free choice in the matter for themselves and their children, without any control or sanction on the part of the association.”

– European Commission of Human Rights, March 1998.

“The phrasing that is to be incorporated into the statutes of the Christian Association of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Bulgaria describes the manner in which Jehovah’s Witnesses have traditionally handled these matters.”

“Before a person becomes one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, the Bible standards are clearly explained. Of course, if someone as a baptized member of Jehovah’s Witnesses engages in conduct that falls outside of those Bible standards, efforts are made in a kindly manner to help the erring one recover spiritually. If one refuses such assistance and refuses to uphold Bible standards, including Bible standards regarding the misuse of blood, then this may at times lead to the Scriptural action of disfellowshipping.-1 Corinthians 5:11-13.”

– Watchtower letter, August 1998.

They are encouraged to visit homes for at least 10 hours per month distributing Watchtower materials.

They use their own special translation of the Bible which mistranslates the original texts.

They are well known to disown, shun, and ignore any friends and family leaving the cult.

They discourage tertiary education.

They are not allowed to be in the army or wear crosses.

They are not allowed to celebrate birthdays.

They are not allowed to celebrate Christmas – the date we celebrate the birthday of Jesus Christ.

All this they will not tell you, and yet they still claim that “Before a person becomes one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, the Bible standards are clearly explained.”

Did you know Jesus name? Names?

Matthew 1:23

Aramaic Bible in Plain English

“Behold the virgin shall conceive, and she shall bear a son, and they shall call his Name Emmanuail, which is translated, 'Our God is with us'“

Jesus IS that because prophecy says this in Isaiah, and Matthew quotes this. Mary was a virgin, Jesus IS..EMMANUAIL.

But when you read Hebrews, you learn that Jesus LAID DOWN His DIVINITY to come to this sinful earth. Jesus in full divinity would burn up sin.

Jesus is God. You need to get baptized in a non denominational church.

Here is the truth. If you invited one person from each religion and an atheist on earth to one place and asked who is right all would stand up. Asked if they could prove it they all say yes.

Now consider this. If you believe God is all powerful then you must accept he/she/it does not need money (so stop donating and see how you church likes you) nor you to take any action (harmful or otherwise) as again he/she/it is all powerful and its will, will be done.

Therefore, we can all live in peace and let people believe or not as God gives them a choice so who are we to cram it down their throat? To be religious or an atheist requires nothing more than belief that something is or is not. To be religious requires nothing but a personal choice between you and God to make it public only cheapens it.

All religion's are man made and directed my men. They all believe they have the truth. Most people who belong to these religion's think they are better than other people because they have the truth. Many failed predictions of the Jehovah's Witnesses prove they cannot have the truth. They are still predicting things which will not come true. Joining any religion is like joining any club. They are false prophets and are warned about in the Bible. Even in the Old Testament Israel had to deal with false prophets as the Christian church has to deal with them today.

Ezekiel 13:9

My hand will be against the prophets who see false visions and utter lying divinations. They will not belong to the council of my people or be listed in the records of Israel, nor will they enter the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Sovereign LORD.

Jeremiah 23:16

Jesus’ true followers honor God’s name, Jehovah. Jesus honored God’s name by making it known. He helped people to know God and taught them to pray that God’s name be sanctified. (Matthew 6:9)(Psalm 83:18.)

NO. They are a "religion" of the LOST, and have been systematically, deliberately deceived by Satan and a group of greedy, rapacious, evil men they call their Governing Body.

I truly pity anyone who gets entangled in the Watchtower's sticky Web. Only God Himself, literally, can free them.

Beguiled Jehovah Witness believe:

That Jesus the Christ of Nazareth, the Messiah is inferior to God, which is contrary to John 1:1-18 and 1 Timothy 3:16 that states Jesus is God.

Man does not have a spirit which is contrary to Gal 3:14.

That Jesus is the Archangel Michael, which is contrary to The Word of God (The Tree of Life, Light, Love, Wisdom, Understanding and Knowledge).

That Jesus second coming happened in 1914.

That we are to worship Jehovah only, which is contrary to John 1:1-14.

They believe that satan is the invisible ruler of the world; not true God rules over satan.

They believe that only 144 thousand go to heaven; again not true: John 3:16 tells us otherwise.

John 3:13-17 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

They believe that hell is mankind's common grave; not even close:

The place of eternal punishment for the unrighteous. The NKJV and KJV use this word to translate Sheol and Hades, the Old and New Testament words, respectively, for the abode of the dead.

Hell as a place of punishment translates Gehenna

, the Greek form of the Hebrew word that means "the vale of Hinnom"-a valley just south of Jerusalem. In this valley the Canaanites worshiped Baal and the fire-god Molech by sacrificing their children in a fire that burned continuously. Even Ahaz and Manasseh, kings of Judah, were guilty of this terrible, idolatrous practice (2 Chron 28:3; 33:6).

The prophet Jeremiah predicted that God would visit such destruction upon Jerusalem that this valley would be known as the "Valley of Slaughter" (Jer 7:31-34; 19:2,6). In his religious reforms, King Josiah put an end to this worship. He defiled the valley in order to make it unfit even for pagan worship (2 Kings 23:10).

In the time of Jesus the Valley of Hinnom was used as the garbage dump of Jerusalem. Into it were thrown all the filth and garbage of the city, including the dead bodies of animals and executed criminals. To consume all this, fires burned constantly. Maggots worked in the filth. When the wind blew from that direction over the city, its awfulness was quite evident. At night wild dogs howled and gnashed their teeth as they fought over the garbage.

Jesus used this awful scene as a symbol of hell. In effect he said, "Do you want to know what hell is like? Look at the valley of Gehenna." So hell may be described as God's "cosmic garbage dump." All that is unfit for heaven will be thrown into hell.

The word Gehenna occurs 12 times in the New Testament. Each time it is translated as "hell." With the exception of James 3:6, it is used only by Jesus (Matt 5:22,29-30; 10:28; 23:15,33; Mark 9:43,45,47; Luke 12:5). In Matt 5:22; 18:9; and Mark 9:47, it is used with "fire" as "hell fire." So the word hell (Gehenna) as a place of punishment is used in the New Testament by Him who is the essence of infinite love.

In Mark 9:46 and 48, hell is described as a place where "their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched." Repeatedly Jesus spoke of outer darkness and a furnace of fire, where there will be wailing, weeping, and gnashing of teeth (Matt 8:12; 13:42,50; 22:13; 24:51; 25:30; Luke 13:28). Obviously this picture is drawn from the valley of Gehenna

The Book of Revelation describes hell as "a lake of fire burning with brimstone" (Rev 19:20; 20:10,14-15; 21:8). Into hell will be thrown the beast and the false prophet (Rev 19:20). At the end of the age the devil himself will be thrown into it, along with death and hades and all whose names are not in the Book of Life. "And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever" (Rev 20:10 b).

Because of the symbolic nature of the language, some people question whether hell consists of actual fire. Such reasoning should bring no comfort to the lost. The reality is greater than the symbol. The Bible exhausts human language in describing heaven and hell. The former is more glorious, and the latter more terrible, than language can express.

They believe that the soul dies at death of the body; no, the soul is more than just the living essence of the body: The word soul also refers to the inner life of man, the seat of his emotions, and the center of human personality. The first use of the word soul in the Old Testament expresses this meaning: "And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being (soul)" (Gen 2:7). This means more than being given physical life; the biblical writer declares that man became a "living soul," or a person, a human being, one distinct from all other animals. The soul is described as the seat of many emotions and desires: the desire for food (Deut 12:20-21), love (Song 1:7), longing for God (Ps 63:1), rejoicing (Ps 86:4), knowing (Ps 139:14), and memory (Lam 3:20). In the New Testament, Jesus spoke of his soul as being "exceedingly sorrowful" (Matt 26:38). Mary, the mother of Jesus, proclaimed that her soul "magnifies the Lord" (Luke 1:46). John prayed that Gaius would "prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers" (3 John 2).

They believe that only God approves those to be saved.

They believe that the Earth will never be destroyed or depopulated. Wrong, Rev 21:1-2

1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

KJV

They believe that Jesus died for only the obedient. Not true for we have all sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God.

They also believe that Jesus is inferior to God and do not believe in the Trinity. Yet Jesus said: “Matt 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:”

I'm not necessarily saying the Jehovah's Witnesses are right, but, to all of you who call the kettle Black:

Do you worship on Sunday? When, Saturday is and has always been the Sabbath, the Seventh day. Man changed it, Not God.

Do you worship Christmas? Christ was born in July, our "Christmas" is based on the pagan sun god ceremony of Saturnalia, just past the Winter Solstice ( Dec. 21) Christ never celebrated his birthday nor told us to

Do you worship Easter? Based on the pagan ceremony of the goddess of fertility,. Ishtar. Christ never said to celebrate his death. Not even his resurrection.

Do you pray to Saints? Mary? There is only One God and Christ is his son.

Do you say God shuns alcohol? When Christ turned water into wine at Cana? (Yes, Wine, try keeping grape juice unrefrigerated in a Mediterranean climate, it will soon be wine. It was often drunk as the water was polluted.)

Do you celebrate Passover? Why Not? Christ and his disciples did, even after His resurrection. Clear thru Acts.

Do you have a picture of "Christ"? A Flag you pledge allegiance to? Aren't they Graven Images and forbidden by the Ten Commandments?

Do you insist in meeting in a church, when Christ's faith was of the road? And spoke of tearing down the temple and overthrew the money changers' tables?

Do you post hate of others' faiths, when Christ said to love your enemy? See him as a friend? Be a good example?

So, isn't this kind of thinking, this diversion from Him and his teachings, then of the devil?

Well I will speak honestly on behalf of anyone in a religion. I would hope that you wouldn't be in a religion if you did not believe it to be the true religion. However as a Jw I honestly say it's the closest to bible teaching as I have known and I have tried other religions. They teach by Gods word and try to live their life by the teachings within it. John 17:3 but if you'd like to know if we think we have the true religion check the link below for bible based answer

They are the churches, slaves. They are sent out by the church with a silly booklet that they try to sell for four quid or so a pop. It is only about four pages with boring illustrations and a few snippets from the bible. The churches are awash with gold yet after the starving children have all died, the churches still have every last piece??? If that is a true religion, I am a blue banana.

I was going to say: check for yourself, but after having viewed your profile, I see you are the same who wants out of your faith, so not sure why you would post such a question as this?

I am beginning to wonder if you are a witness at all, but rather from a witness family and thus, if you have not be baptised, you cannot be a witness and and thus, you are free to do what you wish, but do remember that it does not make what you turn away from, wrong!
