What do you think of the Eragon books? Age range/spiritual belief of the people most interested in these books?

I am not familiar with these books and my stepson would like me to get them for them but I would like a little detail first of the age appropriateness/content. Thank you.

Pre to teen age group. It is along the line of Lord of the rings. Not bad though the movies are not as good as the books, but for avid readers that is normal. Check one out of the library and read it before getting one for your step son. That way you can talk with him about it. I enjoyed the books myself.

Don't get them. Not for any spiritual or age-appropriateness reasons, the books are just bad. Poorly written, a bad story, uninteresting, bland, Eragon is all of these. Don't get them. Pick up some good literature, like Ender's Game.

I am reading the story's to my 5-year old son. These books are not graphic at all and are full of morals and lessons.

If your stepson is old enough to be reading books that big, he is old enough to start making a few of his own decisions in life.
