HELP need 50 outrageous things about Genesis?

hello, for my English class we are reading the bible, and after reading genesis there is no way to have not found any outrageous concepts, such as God commanding all to be circumcised, and the confusion of languages but fifty is hard to find its due soon help please!

The Elohim; who are they?



This is the plural of the Hebrew word for G-d, yet the Bible is the record of the One True G-d.



How about Sara having a baby at an advanced age; she was also Abraham's sister.



Everyone was NOT commanded to be circumcised; circumcision was an identifying mark between G-d and the descendants of Abraham - it is a tribal identification.

This is for an English class? Does reading comprehension come into play? For Genesis does not call for "all" to be circumcised. There was a requirement for the offspring of Abraham to be circumcised, and no others.



Seems to me your "outrageous" concepts from Genesis will mostly be contrived.

No to the first one, God let there be light before he created the sun. What?



Women are more genetically sound than men (they have two X chromosomes, and men have an unmatching pair), but the bible says the man was created first.



Snakes lack the brain capacity to engage in formal dialogue.



There is no genetic or chemical property of fruit that can directly enhance your knowledge.



Why wasn't God looking at Adam and Eve disobey the rules if he is omnipresent? Sure, he might allow free will, but it was the fruit itself that made Adam and Eve self-aware in the first place.



Why did God tell Abraham to kill his own son in a ritual sacrifice?



Not sure if this is Genesis or Exodus, but God purposely made it so the pharaoh would not allow the jews to leave Egypt, just so God could have the sick pleasure of forcing the Egyptians through another illness, all while the jews were needlessly suffering. God also mislead Moses and it took FAR longer than necessary to return to Israel.

I'm not sure you understand what outrageous is because you've probably been taught that the nonsense in the bible was true. Just pretend you'd never heard of it before and reread that first page, it should be easy from there.



note: people are not made from dirt, or from spare bones removed during psychic surgery. You're not trying very hard to finish your homework.

Talking snakes. Tree of knowledge. Sins of the parents being inherited by the siblings. Two of a species does not provide enough genetic diversity to sustain a population. Woman came from a rib. Man came from dirt. God created everything from nothing but needs dirt/rib to create more things. Earth took 5 days to create while the rest of the universe took only 1 day.
