i am always very surprised when a christian gives an intelligent answer to my questions. I would put the frequency of this occurrence at well below 5%. It is so easy to predict their responses. Their list of tired rhetoric appears to be very short.

Christians: please resist the urge to list intelligent christians, or to tell me that just because you are christian, it doesn't make you stupid.

My purpose is to find out if many people agree with my honest opinion, and not (as i predict many christians will assume) simply to insult you.

No, I think this question has some merit. I have noticed that about the same percentage comes from atheists as well. It was not long ago that I posted a question and got about 20 responses. Most of them were nothing more than sarcasm and trolling. Of those 20, only one responder actually answered the question. The rest of the responses were garbage and hatred.

I suspect the 5% that you have seen is more or less typical (not of intelligent Christians) but of serious responders whether they are Christians or not. It appears that only a small portion of the people who respond are actually trying to answer the question. The rest are just collecting 2 points for responding.

That's not the result of religion. Australia is largely homogeneous with a very low population and strong economy making it easy to handle. The US is not homogeneous, does not have a strong economy, and has an extremely large population. Australia is similar to Finland in the same way. Both have very few problems. All the people in these places think alike and therefore want the same things from the government. It's because of "diversity" America has it's problems. America also has a lot more poor who have to resort to using crime to gain basic necessities. Religion has absolutely nothing to do with anything. Oh and by the way, we have a 14 trillion dollar debt. A few billion dollars is NOTHING. The US is in the mess it's in because of imperialism, diversity, being too large, misuse of money, corruption, and a greedy society from media influence among other things. Religion only betters the US if anything, think about how much more people would commit crimes and resort to hate without it. But nonetheless, you will not believe a thing I have said because it's not what you want to believe.

I have doubts about whether your question is complying with community guidelines but it doesn't bother me becuase I'm atheist.

I don't think a person's religion (or lack of) has any influence on their intelligence/ability to respond to questions.
