Question:
Why have creationists not built a replica of Noah's Ark?

Why have creationists not built a replica of Noah's Ark to prove the Noah myth possible? They have thrown millions at a silly creation museum which proves nothing . So why not build a Noah Zoo, an Ark replica with all the required animals inside? Ok they can leave out the dinosaurs.

Creationists - The Ark built in Holland does not count as it is only is only 1/2 the length and 1/3 the width of the Biblical dimensions.

It should also be mentioned that the one in the Netherlands is based on a barge.

This should be done to prove that a wooden (and no metal) structure that large would be sea worthy and also show exactly how many animals it could house along with year's supply of food for them, not to mention how long it would take for it to be loaded.

If the Ark & flood are real, then this should be no problem....

Edit:

Oh yeah, the hong kong ark is a replica(sarcasm): "its rooftop luxury hotel and 67 pairs of fiberglass animals". Using modern materials including metal, this size of ship is very possible, however a wood only boat of this size would not be structurally sound...

Edit:

Ok, this confirms it, those that believe in a literal flood and/or "creation science" are clueless about the scientific method.

Zaatheist. They have built live size Noah's ark's and you can see them. Before I tell you where they are I want to get your little "they can leave out the dinosaurs' comment (I will also answer all the other comment made by other people). First off the dinosaurs on the ark would have been juveniles meaning they would have been only 1/10 the size of the adult dinosaurs. As for [I come BLOOD] gopher wood is extinct so not all is known about it but it would have been very strong and rot resistant because the real ark cane be found in turkey. You may be think into whoa or He's lying, no I assure you that it is very real. The reason no one Christen or non can go to it is be cause of the Turkish government. Who will kill any man woman or child found on he mountain. that mountain is mount Ararat in the ice cave known to the Turks as "the eye of the bird". only long rang photos are addible to view for the Turkish government confiscated all videos. You can see this pictures in many Christen books the one I own is Noah's Ark and the Ararat adventure by john D. Morris. You must be thinking he's still lying or why are the Turk not letting people on the mountain, will I'm not lying and the reason the Turks let no one up there is they a Muslim and they hate Christens and the bible so the keep the ark under guard. Now To know how it was finished with a "bronze axe" it is said in the bible that in Noah's time men (humans) live longer, science also thinks that people would have lived longer due to hard labor a great diet and the atmosphere. So how long would one man (or woman) live the bible says Noah lived to be 950 years old! So on average a man (or woman) could live to 900 years old. Don't believe me that's fine. That last question I will answer is how would one fit and get all of those animals and dinosaurs onto the Ark? Well the Ark as God told Noah to build it was 300 cubits [140 meters / 450 feet] long, 50 cubits feet [23 meters / 75 feet] wide and 30 cubits [14 meters /45 feet] high. Make a roof for it and finish the ark to within 18 inches [1 cubit] of the top. Put a door in the side of the ark and make lower, middle and upper decks. the rest was not recorded or Noah came up with the proper structural integrity measurements. Now The creation museum is building their own live size ark (100% wood cloth and wax) to be finished in around 2020. There is also one not quite full size (like off by 5 or 10 cubic feet) Ark that was built by a Dutchman (Johan Huibers) who finished building a life-size replica of Noah's Ark preparing for End Times this can be seen on YouTube. If this was not the answer you were seeking then go and find out for your self.

As always God bless.

Noah's Ark is only mentioned in Old Bible without any dimensional details, or the exact numbers and types of creatures he had put them inside. It is quite impossible for the modern creationists to imagine the size of wooden boat without the knowledge of the types/varieties of all animals in the world to put into the boat( you must know the volume of water you want to store before you decide the size of water tank in your house, for example)

One more fact that you should not forget: I don't think at that time, there were elephant, lion, giraffe in the holy land. These are the African animals, not the holy land's animal, therefore, if the story is true, the animals that he put in were mainly small farm domesticated animals and also there were no horse at that time in the holy land, because there was definitely no time for him to collect these huge animals even from the nearest Egypt.

And one more fact : Holy land is not a dense forest area, it is desert, how could he build a huge wooden boat with so few resources ?

Modern creationist must acquires numbers /types of animals before he try the project

Because such an ark, given the dimensions provided in the Bible, would not be large enough. Building the replica would prove that they're full of ****. And they know this.

The same reason evolutionists haven't built a replica of a turtle and named it Darwin.

After the Flood, God sent the rainbow as a sign that He would never Flood the earth again, so what would be the point of building another ark? I'm not meaning to sound harsh, but Christians don't need to prove anything to unbelievers. I have my faith and that doesn't mean that I have to prove how scientifically correct my beliefs are. God works miracles and provides strength to all.

For what purpose??

Have those that believe in evolution made something evolve?? No.

Laboratory studies have shown that organisms are capable of adaptation. That is, living things have an ability to shift their biology to better fit their environment. However, those same studies have demonstrated that such changes can only go so far, and those organisms have not fundamentally changed. These small changes are called “micro-evolution.” Microevolution can result in some drastic changes, such as those found in dogs. All dogs are the same species, and one can see how much variation there is. But even the most aggressive breeding has never turned a dog into something else. There is a limit to how large, small, smart, or hairy a dog can become through breeding. Experimentally, there is no reason to suggest that a species can change beyond itself.

Hmm... Not a bad idea. It would be rather hard to do because there isn't a very good description in the Bible. Not to mention, it would be huge.

If by any chance you are being critical of creationists, I don't see a specific reason why we /should/ have.

No one today knows the exact measure of a cubit so that would make it very hard to make an exact copy of The Ark. There is no need for believers to prove the story and non believers are not going to believe and "proof" so what is the point. Water is not how the world will end this time around so an ark of whatever size would not do the same job as the original, that is save humanity.

I don't think there are enough Creationists out there to fund a project like that.

Someone did try but they ran out of money. Here's a link:

.

Even if a full size copy of Noah's Ark was constructed, none of the scoffers in the world would believe the Bible.

Like wise with a "Noah Zoo" none of the scoffers in the world would believe the Bible.

Also, If Jesus was to return and stand in front of you and bring a dead relative of yours back to life - you still would not believe Him

Oh Ye of little faith.

They should stop processing paper used for the bible to build it
2009-06-03 20:17:43 UTC
I don't think there's enough wood for that.

And who knows what gopher bark is
2009-06-03 20:18:24 UTC
they're building it in hong kong:

Two reasons.

Most of us have more important things to do, like earning a living and paying bills.

And, God promised not to flood the entire world again. Would benefit would there be?

We will just as long as you promise to volunteer to walk all the animals on two by two..
2009-06-03 20:17:47 UTC
i don't see how that would prove it possible, there are lots of boats out there as big or bigger than the ark was. how does that prove anything?

Probably because the Bible does not contain any operational blueprint for the vessel in question.
2009-06-03 20:16:21 UTC
Should we?

Would that actually serve a purpose?
